Christmas Candle Cloth & Towels Freebies

Just a quick freebie for Christmas before I forget...again. This is my Christmas Candle Dishcloth as requested by Shirl. She likes to pretty her cloths up so feel free to embellish or not. The pattern doesn't include instructions for the little sparkles but you can add them where ever you choose if you'd like to do that. I'm also including the patterns for the matching towels....these haven't been tested yet so if you do them and find any errors...please YELL! Enjoy!

Pumpkin Dishcloth Freebie

I thought it was about time I shared another free pattern. Just my way of saying "Thanks" for hanging around and reading my blog even though lately I really stink at keeping it updated. :P
So....here's a little pattern for you that's appropriate for the season and the upcoming holiday. The pattern is written for one color like the first photo but for those of you skilled in changing colors...the second photo is also an option. For those who aren't...don't feel alone...I am not a color changing skilled knitter either. Thanks to Shirl for the test knitting...otherwise I wouldn't have that second photo. :P Hugs!

Calendar Of Hope

I just had to make a quick post to let you all know that our Calendar Of Hope is up! You can find it at Knit Pink and all the profits from the sale of the calendar go towards Breast Cancer Research. The price is $15 US Dollars and it is an instant download. (PDF) I am so excited and honored to be a part of this project. I hope you'll go check it out.

This is my contribution. It's called Wings Of Hope. The photo was taken by Rachel and she does such a great job of making the cloths look good. I wanted to send out a huge thanks to Cindy and Rachel for their hard work getting this calendar together and for letting me be a part of such a worthwhile project.

Dish Rag Tag: The Sequel

I made it into Dish Rag Tag: The Sequel. I had heard of the Dish Rag Tag but really didn't know what it was about. Toni sent me a message and gave me a heads up so I hopped over to check it out and decided it sounded like fun. If you're curious or possibly interested on joining the fun hop over to Yarn Miracle and read about it and sign up if you'd like. There's plenty of slots left right now.

*edited the links...should be working now. Thanks!

Hugs!

July Dishcloth Freebie

I know it's a little late for this year's July 4th knitting but it was a KAL for our knitting group so I had to hold off on posting. Maybe it will make it on somebody's list for next year.

Just Relaxing Today For A Change

I finally got some personal issues taken care of that were really stressing me out. I took today to relax and enjoy myself. I got pretty much caught up on my emails and groups and actually got some knitting time in...YAY!!

I started this bag a few days ago and I'm on the last part of the top...almost finished. I think I like this one even better than the Everlasting Bagstopper. I had some issues with the top so I will most likely be making a few changes on the next one. It has only taken 2 small balls of cotton to do this bag...I really thought it would take more. This one is Mary's Summer Bag from Knit Picks . It's also a pretty quick knit once you get the bottom done and start on the sides.
Not sure yet how I'll modify the top but I'll work it out. I used Sugar & Cream in Sea Mist and a matching blue *not sure of the name*.

This little guy I knit today. This is Bubbles With Fins and he's a design by Susan Mrenna. His fins are an addition done by Alli. I think these two awesome designers made a great team with this little fella. He's cute with or without fins. He was knitted with Sugar & Cream in Beach Ball Blue. I'm going to make some for my kids to use as coasters....that's my plan, doesn't mean they'll ever actually use them. ;p

Cat is having a contest. She needs some help/suggestions/advice on getting organized. Hop over and check it out and see if you have any ideas that might help her out. Tell her I sent ya. Knowing Cat...the prize will be awesome...she's good like that!

I Finally Finished Something!

I feel like I haven't finished anything in ages. I knit (not as much as I normally would) and still I don't get anywhere. I have managed to get my socks knitted to the same point. Now I just need about 2 more inches on each one and then I can do my toe decreases.

I finished this dishcloth. It was our first stitch KAL in the group and it turned out so pretty. Shirl designed this cloth and has at least 5 more almost ready for future KALs. I've seen next month's and it is just as nice. I can't wait to knit it up too!

I finished my Everlasting Bagstopper today! I changed the handles to garter stitch rather than sewing on some ribbon. The ribbon is really pretty but since this is intended for carrying wet stuff back and forth to the pool....I thought it would be better to leave off the ribbon. It would probably just get messed up anyway. This way I can throw the bag into the washer with the suits and towels.

This is the bag with a bottle of Tide laundry detergent inside. This thing will stretch soooo much! And it was tough enough to hold that heavy bottle. The bag knit up pretty fast but the handles seemed to take forever. I'm not sure if I'll do the handles the same way next time...we'll see. I only need to make 4 more regular size....1 a bit smaller and then 1 kid size for the little nephew man. I don't think his dad will want one but if he does...what's one more, right? lol I just have to get the colors that everyone wants so there's no fighting over which one belongs to who.

Heading off to stash dive....think I have some bright colors in there somewhere to use for Ms Thang's bag. Who knows WHAT I might find in there. lol

It's Not Friday Yet?

This has been one of those long weeks...is Friday ever gonna get here? I want to sleep late. lol

Here's a little proof that I have been knitting my socks...not as much or as often as I should but I have been working on them. As soon as I get sock #2 at the same point as sock #1 then it should be a quick finish. I can't wait!!!

A little more Spring for you. My Granny Smith apple tree is blooming!! It's going to fun to see how many apples we get this year. It's our second year of actual blooms and producing apples. Last years were kinda small but pretty tasty. Hopefully this year they will be bigger still.

Now I'm working on a few dishcloths and getting ready to try one done in the round from the center out....Thanks, Brian! I actually did try it once already but my blond was working overtime and I totally screwed it up. :P I know what I was doing wrong so this time hopefully it will turn out right.

Showers In Spring Dishcloth

We just wrapped up our first KAL in Shirley's Knitting Knook so I thought I would post it here also as a freebie for anyone who's interested. I will add it to the free downloads as soon as I can. The cloth in the photo was knitted by Shirl .

Freebie Day

I've been so slack lately....still nursing that dang cold that seems to have decided he wants to live here. It's Spring Break so the kids are all home, too which makes it even more crazy around here. I thought I would give you a freebie that I should have posted a long time ago. Nothing fancy....you've seen his face before.

Time For Some New Things

I have been fighting a stinking cold for what seems like forever now. Does this make you make all fuzzy headed? I can't seem to keep up some days. :P I will be so glad when this is over so I can think like a normal person again. At least today, I can breathe freely. YAY!!

This is one of my new things. My snail dishcloth. It's going on the Dishing Knit Out site. I thought she turned out pretty cute.

And my little chick who will also be there. I'm trying to get new designs charted up and done. It has been so long. I've really neglected that site.

This is my newest venture. My friend Shirl has done a few KALs to help out in one of our groups while the owner was sick. Now that she's feeling better....I thought it would be a nice surprise to set up a dishcloth KAL group for her. She's so sweet and really enjoys doing the KALs. So, if anyone is interested....come on over to Shirley's Knitting Knook and join us for some friendly chat and two KALs a month. Not a lot of rules....just friends hanging out, chatting and knitting. We'd sure love to have you. You can also leave me a comment (or Froggie...she's gonna be there too of course) and we'll send you an invite. It's gonna be pretty lonely without our friends there to hang out with us.

It's Monday....:P

I know...I complain about having so much OTN and what do I do? Go and start another KAL. My stack of dishcloths was almost depleted with Christmas gift giving and I gotta get it built back up. Since you only get a few rows a day, it really doesn't take that much time away from everything else. It's a good little break from the baby blanket, too. I don't know the name of the design or the designer yet since the KAL isn't over yet but as soon as I find out...I will pass along the praise.

Here's a close-up for you so you can see the awesome texture of this cloth. I really like this one. All the switching from knit to purl is heck on my carpal tunnel but it's going to be worth effort I'm sure. *you can click the photos to get up close and personal*

Back to my stack of UFO's and don't forget to go visit Aunt Kathy and check out her month long blog contest. She has such fun contests. :)

Movie Night Dishcloth

Just a quick post for now...another new pattern. My Movie Night Dishcloth . I am so really excited about this one. I wasn't too sure how it would turn out. Thanks to Shirley for test knitting for me with her super fast needles.

New Fast Food Dishcloth Design

It has been many moons since I posted any new patterns for sale. I'm trying to get some ones charted and ready to post...it will be slow but I am working on it. This is the new one I just posted. There will hopefully be one more coming soon. It's available here .

In Progress....

The weather has been pretty nice today....sunny and 60 degrees F. I'm beginning to look forward to Spring though. The kids and I are already making plans to go camping. We haven't been in quite a while and we really miss it.

Ms Thang slept in that sock last night...it was so funny. I didn't even realize she still had it on until she got up this morning to get ready for school. Monday is her birthday so she brought home a present from her interpreter. That woman is the best! She got her a big Dry Erase Board with 2 boxes of markers and an eraser. Ms Thang loves to draw and has been playing with it since she got home. We're going to hang it up in her room.

Lilduckie wanted to show you a couple of things we've been working on. This is part of a Spa Set we're putting in the Christmas gifts box. The square one is face cloth and the other one is a headband. The face cloth is actually a modified mug rug.....I thought my recipients would have more use for a face cloth than the mug rug so I just added a few more stitches and went with it.
The pattern is one of Sue's at Harvest Moon . She has the nicest designs...something for everyone.

This is the progress to date on the Icelandic Shawl. So far, I'm doing great keeping up with the KAL. I'm a few rows ahead at this point and I'm going to try my best to stay on track with everyone. Ahead is great but as long as I'm on schedule...I'm happy.

Okay, gotta get that second sock OTN and start on lilduckie's sibling...birthday gift for Froggie's little one.

1 FO...1 UFO

I had forgotten about posting a photo of my last dishcloth I knitted. It's the Be My Dishcloth from Kristen Patay. I love her designs...they're so pretty. It's a free pattern...if you want it just click the cloth name and it'll take you right there. I did mine in Hot Pink Sugar & Cream.

This is a little close-up peek at the baby blanket I am knitting. I love the color but dang knitting with this yarn. :( It should be a quick knit though....using size 15 needles and I'm already almost through one skein already.

I have a camera case that I've finished knitting and it's waiting to be fulled. If it turns out good...I'll post photos when I'm done. If not, well......let's all just forget I ever mentioned it. :P

Gotta go get my needles out and sort my yarn for the Icelandic Shawl KAL. I need to get my colors organized and start casting on. The KAL started today and I have a feeling it's going to take a while to get it started....provisional cast on.

Rain, Rain, Go Away

It has been raining here for what seems like forever. I really wish it would stop for a day or two.
Oh well, it makes for good knitting weather...but then, for me, any weather is good knitting weather. lol

Not much exciting going on around here now...just finishing up the final touches on my Cocoa Swap and getting it ready to mail out tomorrow. I've got two cloths OTN for Valentine's Day gifts and seriously fighting the urge to pull out that little sock keychain kit and cast on. I know it will require much attention for me and so it would be better to wait until I get some things finished.

Ms Thang is hounding me about what toy I am going to knit next and I really have to get another duck knitted for a certain Froggie's cute little son for his birthday in March. He absolutely loves little yellow ducks. He will have a handknit one this year.

lilduckie wanted to say "Thanks" for all the nice comments. You've really made him feel welcome. He has promised to be good and try to take over but he will pop in from time to time to say "HI". So, from lilduckie....MWAHHHHHHH!

Must Keep Knitting Contest Goodies

Today I received my prize from Kate's blog . They're pretty green stitch markers called "Green With Envy'. Thanks, Kate. I love the pretty, girly stitch markers.

Up close and personal....not the best photo but you get the general idea. Take a second and check out Kate's Etsy Shop ...she has more pretty stitch markers and some lovely yarn that I think I need ....one is called Lotus and another is Froggy.

Okay, gotta get back to my knitting...another free pattern by the talented Kristen Patay. You can find it on her blog...Be My Dishcloth . It's perfect for Valentine's Day.
