I always suffer an impulse to make sweeping conclusions to a year, preferably in some extended reflection that dwells on each moment with enough philosophy and poetry to justify having made the effort to. More often than not, it doesn't work out. Something short in place, for keepsakes.

2012 came and went, there was so much to it. POD, BMT, OCS, PDC, PAD, Oxford. Friendships put on pause, shelved away, lost, formed, resurrected, rediscovered. Nerves jangled, resolve steeled, perspective sharpened, impressions made, inadequacies felt. Words said, thoughts unsaid, secrets kept, promises unkept.

2013's going to be full of shoring up this past, learning new things, cultivating new buds, just becoming a better person. To be the better man - that's for this year. To spend a year I'm proud of, that as well.
