Predictable Routines

My children seem to be settling into some predictable routines.  With the colds fading, and the growth spurts easing up, Danny and Tiana seem to have found some nice patterns to thier nighttime and morning routine.

Danny's nighttime routine is as follows:
Eat Dinner around 6pm.  This is very important, because if I wait any longer chances are he falls asleep without food, which wakes him up in the middle of the night.
After Dinner we give him a bath, it calms him down, warms him up, and we then take his day clothes away and slip him into pajamas.
I usually try to brush his teeth during or right after bath time.
Then we have Scripture Study and Prayer, and kisses all around.
Scott or I will put him to bed.  If he hasn't already fallen asleep (which is happening more often) then we sing a couple songs.

Tiana seems to be ready for bed around 8 or so.  Since her last growth spurt, she has been staying asleep once she is out for the night.  This has been wonderful!  Two sleeping children, and time for just Scott and I before bed.

I still have to watch the clock though, cause these two hoodlums will wake up at the same time in the morning, anywhere between 5:30 and 6am.  There have been times when they have slept in, but those are few and far between, and usually on days I have to get up early anyways

Lately I have been pretty tired, mostly because I keep staying up so late. . . and because of the cold, Danny or Tiana have woken up in the middle of the night.  After the children are in bed, I kinda revel in being "not mom" and it is hard to let go of the novelty and go to bed.

Runny Noses, Sore Thoats, and Coughing

The evils of the season are upon us.  The freezing temperatures, the piling snow, and finally the Dreaded Cold!  Our entire household has it in various degrees.  Achy joints, fuzzy brains, sinus pressure, post nasal drip, and raspy voices.  It sounds like a chorus of coughs, weezes and sniffles with the occasional "Nose bleeding!" that comes from Daniel.

Since Danny has had more than his fair share of nose bleeds, he recognizes the running sensation in his nose.  Thinking it is an emergency, he will run to an adult while holding his nose.  "Bleeding!!" he will say and want you to fix it.  While wiping his nose gives temporary releif, a cold continues to run.  While I can stop a bleeding nose with some pressure and a few kicks to his feet, a cold doesn't respond to that kind of treatment.  Last night was hard cause he kept feeling wet stuff in his nose, and it kept waking him up.  Funny, most children would wake up with coughing, but not my son.  Coughing doesn't faze him.  That drippy feeling in his nose is what puts him over the edge.

Scott has had really bad sore throat and achy body for the last couple of days.  He finally went in to work today, and I am hoping that it doesn't make him worse.  At least he will have tomorrow off to try and recover some more.

My issues?  Just that I am dreadfully tired, with a splash of a sore throat.  I think it is mostly due to lack of sleep due to constant interruption by toddler, baby, and husband.  Thankfully, I manage to squeeze in a nap during the day, thanks to my inlaws.
