A New Baby!

My sister, Chiya, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl at 6:04 this morning. Faith Elizabeth decided to come backwards, butt first. However, through the skills of an excellent midwife, all was well. Chiya is pretty tired, and bled a little more than normal, but she is doing great. Daniel was so excited to see his new cousin. He wanted to pat her (his new skill, he has softened his hits) and got very enthusiastic about her being able to move and cry. Faith is just under 7 lbs, and felt so light to me. It must be because I am used to carrying around my 25 pounder. She is so precious. My first blood related Niece, and she is so beautiful.

Done At Last!!!!!

I have successfully completed my last check-in/check-out season here at Academy Square. What a relief! I am thrilled that I will never have to do this again. For the last two weeks I have been active from the moment I woke up to the moment I went to sleep. This morning I got up, got dressed, did my hair, and then realized that I don't have "do" anything if I don't want to. It was so nice. So I relaxed with Danny, and decided to update my much neglected blogs.

House Update: They broke ground on our land last Friday! Scott and I saw the hole on Saturday and danced an excited jig. We even put some dirt in a cup as a reminder to this momentous occasion. Also, my brother Ben and his wife are buying a house. They should be able to move in in about two weeks. They got a very good deal. My sister, Chiya and her husband have also made an offer on a home, and are waiting to see if it is accepted.

Health Update: Scott and I have joined a gym. I begin my workout regime today. Now that I have loads of spare time, I will be creating a menu for us. The money saved on not eating fast food will totally cover our health expenses, not to mention the fact that we will be eating loads better.

Danny Update: Daniel has two more teeth. He has also started biting. . .for fun. He says all sorts of new words, and even does a little sign language.

Check-Out Time!

Ouch! Was yesterday long. From 9am-6pm I was running up and down stairs, painting apartments, telling students to clean better, and making notes of what needed to be fixed. I was a total wreck at the end. I dropped off my darling sister, who was watching Daniel, and then took Daniel to Grandma Birkners house. My Mother-In-Law was having all of the Grandchildren over for dinner. Scott and I took off and went to eat at Costa Vida.

We were supposed to head from there to a friends house where Scott was going to play video games, and I was going to relax and watch High School Musical II. We had just told them we were on our way, when the day caught up with me. As we drove, my head hurt worse and worse. My dear husband finally pulled the car over, and asked me point blank if I needed to go home. I hate dissapointing people, and I wanted to enjoy friendly company, but I knew I was getting seriously sick. I probably didn't drink enough water or something. So I called our friends, I had to give the phone back to Scott because at that point I couldn't even think clearly. We picked Daniel up and headed home. I laid on the couch until Danny went to sleep. Then Scott gave me a blessing and I went to bed. I was so sick, my body was shaking, and the tylenol wasn't working on my headache. I knew all I needed was sleep, but it took awhile to come. I woke up at about 4am. My headache was gone, but I was terribly thirsty. I drank almost 2 quarts of water, and went back to sleep.

This morning I feel fine. I have another intense day, but this time I will drink Gatorade and water, and try not to kill myself again.

Traveling Soon?

We won a cruise from Scott's work. I don't remember if I had mentioned it. Anyway, so I have been gathering the things we need for the paperwork. We are going to Mexico, so we need some super identification to prove our citizenship. Apparently our cruise is one of the last ones that do NOT require a passport. Starting next year, a passport will be required. Meanwhile, I need a Government Certified Birth Certificate and a Driver's License. Unfortunately Daniel is too young to drive. Our Agent said that was fine, but that we were lucky. Starting next year, even babies will need a passport.

Since it takes awhile, I suggest everyone goes and gets one. It can take up to 6 months to get a passport, and that is sometimes even with paying extra for them to go faster. So, just in case you win a cruise, you should get one now. If we had won a cruise next year, Daniel and I would be out of luck. There just isn't enough time to get a passport between now and october.
