Dear Families, Friends, Followers and Fans,
We often take for
granted things that most deserve our gratitude. After all, gratitude consists
of being more aware of what you have, instead of what you don’t. If anything
makes us count our blessings, in the wake of the terrible terrorist attacks in
Paris, is that no matter what actions deranged people may carry out, we still
have our freedom, we hold our heads up high, and we will continue to live our
lives to the fullest. We will continue to get together with friends and
family, enjoy a glass of wine, a show, or discover new places abroad. This
is because we refuse to be afraid.
That is something that terrorists will never manage to take away from us,
wherever we may live in this world. On this day, I reflect on the fact that
I live in a free country, with a roof over my head, that my family and
friends are safe and sound in Malaysia, and that I am surrounded with so
many loving and caring people I met throughout my more than fifty years I
have lived on this beautiful place.
To see the amazing
outpour of love and solidarity from everyone fills my heart with joy:
together we stand united as one regardless of colours, religions and status.
My thoughts, today,
go to all the innocents who fell, whether on 9/11, in Beirut, in Syria, and so
many other countries in the world. Together, today, we express our gratitude
for the fact that we are all together in celebration of all great things in
this world. I wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving holiday,
