Summer Fun

We traveled up to Island Park on a Thursday afternoon, getting there by 6pm. My parents, niece Emma and nephew, Isaac were already there. We got unpacked and Carson had to take the boys on a bike ride around the Island before it got dark.
The next day was a restful day, for me, on the lake. The boys rode the tube with Carson, Emma & Isaac and had a great time! Later as they were playing on the tube, Daniel fell off and when I looked up, Daniel was face down in the water. Being so pregnant, I couldn't even get out of my chair to get to him but Carson was right there and handled it a lot more calmly that I did. He was even able to keep Daniel calm. They rode the tube later and everything was okay.
First Rob went canoing with his cousins!
After Daniel fell in, we wrapped him up and he sat on the deck!
Daniel still had fun later, though!
Saturday on the Island, they had a parade and community potluck dinner.
The day quickly turned into a water day with almost everyone in the water. Rob rode the tube a couple time and played in the water, too.
Sunday we celebrated Rob's "Cabin Birthday" and then later had a treasure hunt!
The Treasure Hunt (Rob helped with the clues)
Monday we got up and packed to go home. Carson had family from out of town staying with us and out in Tooele so we needed to get back.

It was a fun-filled time with both families! Then we had some friends over for Rob's real birthday!

Fruita, Colorado

After going from Montrose to Grand Junction, we stopped in Fruita to go to the Dinosaur Museum there.  I didn't know much about it but it sounded like fun and the boys loved it. It was a good stop before we started our over 4 hr drive the rest of the way home.

These two guys actually move too!
How fun is that to be inside a dinosaur's heart?

September Happenings

We celebrated our 10 anniversary on August 31st! Carson was in Fontanelle but later that weekend, we were able to leave the boys with my parents, THANK YOU, and spend the night at the Destinations Inn in Idaho Falls. We went out to dinner at the good ole' Sandpiper and enjoyed sitting next to the Snake River.

Rob was really looking forward to the first part of September because he started preschool.  The first day was a bit hard but then it was like, "just let me go to school already mom!" The school is right behind our house so it's nice to walk to school and go out the back yard to pick him up.

We took a quick trip to Montrost, CO to see Carson who was working there. After he was done working, we spent a day in Gunnison, CO visiting Rob's best bud, Oakley, who met us there, along with his mom, Cindy and little sister, Mati.

The Combs in August

In the beginning of August, the boys and I tagged along with Carson to Salt Lake for some training he was doing there.  We stayed in a hotel but spent a lot of time with my sister and her kids. We went to the Discovery Gateway and also to Jump Around Utah.

Then later in the month, my parents came out to Dutch John to visit.  They brought the boat out too. It was the first time I'd been out on the water after living here almost 3 years. It was great!

July Activities

At the start of July, we enjoyed having our good friends from Colorado, Matt and Cindy, come to Dutch John for the 4th of July. We enjoyed the scout breakfast on the morning of the 2nd, the bbq lunch and car show at the Lodge, and the fireworks that night. Amazingly during lunch, there were dark clouds and later thunder, but we completely missed the downpour in Dutch John (6 miles away) because we were up at the Lodge.

Let's not forget the Annual Cabin Trip that we always go on in July! We had a great time with our family in Island Park and West Yellowstone, oh ya, that was a rainout.
