Happy Halloween!

When did Halloween get so complicated? It seems like all we did yesterday was run from one thing to the next, and got home exhausted. I guess it's all worth it, though, because the kids had a great time.

I really get into Halloween. Last year I won the costume contest at work with my Jack Sparrow costume. So I really talked up the contest, and this year, people came at me with much more competition than usual.

We had a Jack Skellington. This is Zac. He is our in-house artist that paints all our backdrops. He made a costume for his daughter to be Sally and they went together.

This is a girl named Lis. She came as Slash from Guns N Roses fame. She looked pretty good, too, although she needed to borrow one of our Guitar Hero guitars to complete the look.

We had Poison Ivy, from Batman, and Joe Dirt. He even brought his own can of Pam spray. (It's actually a girl named Amanda.)

Needless to say, we had a good time. However, when it all came down to it, I ended up taking second place to a girl named Corie. She came as Medusa, and when you see her costume, you'll know why. It was amazing! I didn't feel bad taking second place to her. The scales on her arms and legs are airbrushed on, and it was textured, as you can almost see from the pic.My costume wasn't so bad, either, though. I was the requested other participant in many a photo at the party. I went as Wolverine this year. For those of you who don't live close, I've been growing my hair and beard for about six weeks to pull this off. According to most people, I did a pretty good job of it. So what do you think?

This isn't the greatest picture. I'll have some of the people that I work with send me some of the ones they took, but this was at about 10 last night, and we were tired. I think I did alright.

We went with a super hero theme in our family this year. It works for us to do a theme together. Last year we were all pirates. Here we are this year.

Jamie hates this picture. It's not the greatest. We had our neighbor take it at the trunk or treat, and I don't think they even own a camera. But i think Gigi and Granny took some better ones, so we'll keep watch. I'll post individual ones at the family site. What a day!

Can you believe it?

Here I go again. This afternoon we got home from church, ate dinner, and decided to go on an impromptu photo shoot up Middle Canyon here in Tooele. I can't show all of the pics, but here are a couple to whet your appetite.

We had scouted the location when we went and took some pictures of Jamie's sister's family on Conference weekend. This is what theirs turned out like.
So what do you think?

I'm back, baby!

At long last, including much pleading and threatening, I have returned to update my blog. I will warn that even though I am a professional photographer, some of the images I post here will not be the greatest quality as they may be taken with my cell phone for ease of use.

As is the case with this photo. We decided to go to dinner at Johnny Carino's. I had decided to begin updating my blog again, so I took this picture with this idea in mind. Here are my lovely four ladies exhibiting their fine social graces. Okay, we had fun. And the food was good.

As for my recent travels, I have been to the exciting towns of Dugway and Wendover this week.

If you've never been there, boy-you aren't missing much. We had a good time, though. (That would be me and my co-workers who went out with me.) They like me quite a bit at those schools, and my office seems to like to send me there. I don't know why. They always say it's because I live halfway there. Go figure.

Stay tuned for more of my exciting travels.

Already corrected

I was already corrected. I was advised that I should explain the pictures that I posted. So here goes:
The first one is of the girls at Grampy's feet as they help to dramatize the Luke 2 story with Granny's nativity figures on Christmas Eve.
The second one is Lauryn's excited face as she opened her own personal DVD player. (You can see Sabrina's Round and Round Pet Town in the background-she loves the Littlest Pet Shop.)
The third one is Allie in her new outfit, with a new headband, playing school with her stuffed animals and her new white board. (She was so excited about it I had to hang it up about an hour after we woke up.)
Corrected.

Okay, okay...

Finally, after a month of waiting, here is a new post to my blog. I have been home with the girls full time since December 21-isn't salary great. I do have to return to the school circuit on Weds the 2nd, so my freetime is just about up. Anyway, we had a great Christmas, and I will add some pictures here so you all can see. Our Newe Year festivities consisted of a party for Allie with some of her friends until 12:30-that was fun. How many fashion shows can you watch in one night? We also started a tradition of watching complete seasons of something during the Christmas break when we watched the first two seasons of Lost last year, so we finally decided to start watching 24 this year, but waited too long and all they had at Blockbuster was disc 1 of season 1-so our watching is on hold for now. That's all I can think of for now, so stay tuned and I just might do this again.

2 for 2...

Well, here it is. Another post for me. How about that?! Today I started out the day at the Garfield Learning Center in downtown Salt Lake (for those of you who know the place it was a couple of blocks north and 1 block east). After that I went to my office to see what was going on, and got sent up to Kamas to do pictures at South Summit High School. Now, if you don't know where that is, go up to Heber, and continue another 30-45 minutes east. Once we got there, we found out the Athletic Director had forgotten all about it, so we had lunch at Dick's and came back home. On the way home I stopped at Kohl's and bought new bedding for my wife. (She loved it!)
Another exciting day in my life.

Another day...

Today was a slow day for work. All I had to do was drive up to West Point, Utah with two other photographers and take some family pictures at a school faculty Christmas party. It was kind of boring, but sometimes jobs are like that, right?

Lauryn still isn't much better, and seems pretty miserable most of the time. Hopefully this wiil end soon and she can get back to her normal life again. We miss the happy girl!
