Flowers and Sadness

Talked to TC today and she has decided to come back home early. Seems she has wore out her welcome, JK she has been gone a week and i am ready for her to be home. Have I mentioned she has been visiting her sister in Arizona. I will pick her up on Saturday afternoon from the airport in Raleigh.
TC's flowers that i have kept watered

Such a neat place to live. now i have to finish my siding

Taking a break at Elk river Falls

Tonight my heart is so torn. This will probably be the last night that Little T will be with us. this has been a tough couple of months but he really needs a higher level of care. I will drop him off tomorrow adn then we will see what happens after the 8th.

Pics and Purpose

First, this is going to be a new ministry we are involved in.  TC will be the Resident Coordinator and i will probably be the Director/Administrator. Please be in prayer about this. More on this later

Another new ministry, High county Band of Brothers

Picture of the Horry county SC Mission Team. They built a fence around the basketball court we built two years ago. This is used everyday for ministry.

The Avery County law Enforcement Ceremony honoring officers who have fallen!

Well enough pics added for the time being. It has been concluded that our foster son will have to go to a higher leveled group home. He has been too much on us and from other personal things, TC has taken two weeks off with her sister in Arizona. I have stayed behind to make this an easier transition for us and Tommy, plus I have kept working. But, I am tired. At a meeting last night I told them this week is it.

Great Meeting

Great meeting this morning with a church planter. The vision that came out of this meeting is superb and i think it will work...Many details to work out though.....More info later

Sad but True

So much is going on it makes my head spin. After a serious incident with our son, TC had enough and went out to Arizona and visit her sister for two weeks. I had to finish out the week of Deep Impact and made a decision to keep our foster son. Now, I am overwhelmed at all things at home. We made the decision last night to give up our foster son and wait until TC returns and make a decision then about the future about foster care. I made the call and now I wait until they find his next place to live, probably in a higher level facility. Sad but true, but perhaps in his best interest as he is leveled high and really takes up your whole day. That's all I can say about that......

Today, they leave and we will have out last gathering at 7:45 and then it's off to Kids club at Elk park First Baptist. I have so much to catch up on but do not have the time. VA and Vittles

Man, what a day. Went to the VA this morning for my check up, all is well. I do have a torn something or another in my knee but that is something that heals itself, hopefully. Back to the office filled with Deep Impact stuff, Kids club stuff and watch TC work with the two summer interns. so thankful to have a secretary that does her job, Katherine. TC is doing an amazing job with the interns. After work we went to James and Lori Benfield house for supper, Yum, homemade lasagna and cobbler along with a nice cup of coffee on the back porch with James. Calling it a day!

Ready to Make a Deep Impact

Still trying to feel better, spent yesterday running errands and working here from home. Did some yard work with TC and really got a lot accomplished. Amazing how a virus/infection can zap your energy. Back to the office today and prepare for Saturday Kids club, Sunday Preaching and next week Deep Impact.

Deep Impact is a week long mission trip here in Avery County sponsored by NC Baptist Men in conjunction with the Avery association. We are expecting over 100 students and youth leaders with a total of 10 teams. We have four construction teams that are building handicapped ramps and doing some tear down. We have one sports camp team, one senior adult team, and two servant teams. we are doing stuff like feeding the sheriffs department lunch, free car wash, working at some thrift stores and such. should be fun filled work packed week. I am looking forward to the worship each night. they are bringing in a praise band and a special speaker from New Your City, the lead pastor of Graffiti Church. I'm thinking that there will be some culture shock on both sides. God be gloried!

TeamKID Club First Day

Our Adventure has started off slow with only 3 kids but we expect this to grow throughout the summer. We still had a good time

Today, I spoke at Linville's Land Harbor at 9:00 AM and finished at 10:00 AM, drove quickly to Bakersville where I spoke at Big rock Creek Baptist. I am fighting a cold or something so trying to rest tonight so i had to cancel my evening engagement. Gonna try and take tomorrow off.

Some More Pics

Just adding some pics from our Memorial Day get together and celebrating Nanny's and Brianna Birthday

Life

Life: Sometimes it is so hard to figure out what God is doing. I mean, I want to know and I know that I need to know, therefore, I ask......and listen. But, what do you do when all you hear is your own voice? Listen some more. I sought Scripture yet it seems that the enemy always get his foot in the door. Distractions, disappointments and quite possible some other D words that I can't think of right now seems to haunt me. Seek  and you will find, ask and you shall receive an answer. Any answer. It seem that when i think I have it, the enemy attacks sudden and with strength. At the end of the day I know that we both feel that we are to drive on; so drive on is what we shall do.

Summertime Plans

It's summer time in the mountains again and as usual, one day we run the heat and one say we run the air. Most days it's just the window open. On Sunday I woke to severe pain in my right knee. I had to go and preach but it turned out great. I have a VA appt. in two weeks and that is as soon as I could get in. I will have to manage until then. I am feeling overwhelmed with all the plans for summer, but God is in control and He will work it all out to His Glory. Lots of work to be done though.
Right now we are planning:

  • Kids Club every Saturday with a different church sponsoring each week.
  • Horry County SC Mission Trip- 9 Participants
  • Cranks Creek KY Mission Trip-9 Participants
  • Deep Impact- Avery County- 120 Participants from all across the state of NC
  • Family Vacation to Myrtle Beach SC with the grandbaby(first trip to the beach and we get to see it:)

Last year we planted these Rhodendromns(spelling)  at the office and they are looking great this year.
