A Walk by the Canal

Cold and windy today but I had a good stroll along by Selby canal with Mabel and Kaspar who have come to stay with us while their peeps are abroad. Mabel is my daughter and Kaspar is my grandson :-)

Here we are by some sculptures on the canal bank. Me in front and Mabel in the middle.

This is my grandson Kaspar - he is part way through being hand stripped so looks a bit bald on his back BOL but he is a handsome boy and will look smart when his coat comes through.

Me by one of those sculptures.

Waiting for the others to catch up :-)

A little yellowhammer in one of the bushes.

An otter swimming in the canal :-)

We had a lovely walk even though it was cold.

And then home for a snooze with my daughter Trilby :-)

                                                          Kaspar was quite tired too!

Lotherton Hall Gardens with the Pups

This is Lotherton Hall which used to be a family home for some rich peeps many years ago but now it is used for exhibitions and anyone can visit to enjoy the gardens and dogs welcome too :-)

There are deer in the fields beside the gardens and they were interested in seeing my great grand-pups in their pink buggy BOL

The pups really wanted to get out and run but they are too young still.

But Crybbe and me enjoyed a bit of exercise and a stroll among the flowers.

There are lots of daffodils flowering now and they are bright and golden in the sun

After a good walk around the gardens we went to the courtyard cafe for the peeps to enjoy coffee and cake.

The puppies hoped they would get a bit of cake too.

And while we were all sitting enjoying the sun, a little Robin came and started singing :-)

Judith took one of the puppies to see the RSPB stall and meet the man there:

And by the time we left the puppies had enjoyed lots of new experiences.

And me and Crybbe had enjoyed a good Spring day outing :-)

Crufts Report Day One

This is me at Crufts dog show checking out all the sights and sounds. It was a very busy day as Judith was taking Frankie the affenpinscher into the show ring as well as coming with me to sample the food stalls and meet and greet peeps and their dogs.

This is the Miniature Schnauzer Club stall with lots of things for schnauzer lovers :-)

This was where I met Alfie another miniature schnauzer who had been meeting people in Discover Dogs all day.

This is Frankie who is our Frida's brother. He was born in our home but he lives with my daughter Gracie and grandson Wilson now in York. Frankie went in the show ring but he did not get a rosette this time. He walked very well though and we are all very proud of him :-)

Back to other sights at Crufts though :-) and we watched the Guide Dog demonstration:

And stalls selling schnauzer drinks BOL

And the stall selling towels to dry dogs when they have been swimming.
No chance I will need one of those!

There was a good stall called "fetch" with lots of different doggy items and they kindly gave me some very tasty fish treats to take home :-)

And then I met some old friends who visited us a few years ago when they first set up their new pet food company called Pure Pet Food. They are from Yorkshire and use all good ingredients in their food for dogs - chicken and other meat and vegetables - nom nom

And even more interesting - they do tasty biscuits for dogs too and Judith bought some to take home as well:

Well it was a long and busy day but I enjoyed every minute. Tomorrow Crybbe is going to have his chance to be a roving reporter and I will post his pictures too.

Another tired dog on the day!

Crufts Competition (Part Two)

The Crufts Ticket Competition has been won!

The answer to the question - Which breed of dog has won Best in Show at Crufts the most times? is the English Cocker Spaniel and the two lucky winners are Diane from Lincolnshire and Sarah from Milton  Keynes. Congratulations to both and hope you have a great time there.

This is me checking the winning entries BOL

I will be a roving reporter at the show on Thursday and watching the affenpinschers being judged as our Frankie is going in the Crufts show ring for the very first time. Check this link for details of how to get tickets and more information about what is happening each day of the show.

If anyone can get along to one of the four days of the show do come - it is the most wonderful day out for any peeps who love us dogs. So many fun activities to watch, beautiful dogs on display and everything dog related you can imagine.

Look out for my report on the activities on the first day of the show this Thursday and my affenpinscher brother Crybbe may be reporting back again on Saturday. He loved his trip there last year.

Last year's Best in Show winner the lovely Knopa - a Scottie dog from Russia
