scary moment

So, the next few post (I am sure) will be about the baby...that is the nature of the beast. I had my 12 week appointment yesterday and, as many of you know, they check the heartbeat of the baby. Our Dr. came in and put the Doppler on my belly and there was no heartbeat for about 3-4 min. She then dug in harder into my belly and still no heartbeat. I was scared at first, not a very fun moment. There was one point when our Dr. thought she had found it but couldn't get the reading, so that calmed my fears a little. She still decided to do a quick ultrasound so she could make sure. Well, good news the baby is fine and there is a little heartbeat in there. She said that 12 weeks is the earliest they can hear the heartbeat through the Doppler and that the baby was in a weird position so it wasn't picking it up. Whew!

So, we have another ultrasound tomorrow (routine) and we will get to see the baby again. Should be fun!
