Teacher Appreciation

Hi everyone – I hope you are having a good week.  Next week is teacher appreciation week and I was asked to make some cards for a lady I work with who wanted some thank you cards to give her children’s teacher.  I got busy tonight and made these 3 cards in an hour and a half – I am so glad to have sketches help me out because it would have taken me a lot longer without them.  How many of you use sketches to create your cards?
Enjoy the rest of your week and thank you so much for stopping by.  Each of you mean so much to me and I look forward to reading each comment left.

It’s a birthday

I am hoping everyone is enjoying the week and am wondering if I am the only one that is in total shock that April is almost over.  I was looking at the school calendar and just shook my head in disbelief because Patrick has 4 1/2 weeks of school left.  My baby boy is going to be in the 6th grade next year, which means he is going to middle school.  He is growing so fast.

The card I am showing you today is a very simple one, but I think those are the best kind :)  I really love the olive and purple colors together.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the week.

I blame my momma 100% …

…as you can probably tell, I haven’t been blogging very much lately and I am very embarrassed to say that it is because I am spending too much of my time on FaceBook (FB) or better yet, I haven’t learned how to prioritize yet.  As the title states, I blame this all on my momma because she was telling me a while back about all these things that Jared and Elizabeth were saying about school as well as their day to day living via FB and I was like how are you doing this - she said FB.  She then proceeded to show me how to get set up and I haven’t looked back since - thanks momma :)  It’s not only a great way to keep up with our oldest kids, who are no longer living at home, it is a wonderful way to get back in touch with cousins and friends that I don’t see but except for summers, during the holidays or even years.  It is a lot of fun, and even though I don’t play any of the games they allow us to play, I am on it for hours on end.  I was talking with my sister Elaine yesterday and told her that I must stop and get back to my blogging because I miss it, so starting today, I’m going to do better.  If not, I have given Elaine permission to tell me to get off FB :)

Well, I know you’re not here to read about my FB experience, so here’s my latest creation.  I was asked to make a birthday invitation for a lady at work whose little boy turned 2 recently and since I haven’t been doing much creating lately either, wasn’t sure about this; however, after using my “walk in my garden'” cricut cartridge and putting it all together, think it turned out okay.  I am now working on another boy birthday invitation for friend and will have that one up hopefully soon.  I haven’t done any challenges in a while and am hoping to start on a few over the next few days.

I have talked enough, so I will bid you all good night and will talk to you soon.

Thinking of you

I am doing this right now - I am thinking of you all and am hoping you have a great week.  My great friend Jennifer and I went to a Stamp 'n Stack class this weekend given by a wonderful Stampin Up consultant, Debbie.  We get to make 16 cards and just love these in colors SU has this year.  I am making plans on getting the papers and inks before they retire this year.  I'll be back tomorrow to show you another one fro the class.

Thanks for coming by and I would love to hear from you.

Well, I started ...

... out with Monday, Monday and now I am very happy to say Happy Friday, let the weekend begin :)  I hope everyone had a great week and is looking forward to some relaxation.  What a busy few weeks it has been for me and I am loving it except for the fact that I haven't talked with many of my awesome blogging friends and for this I'm sorry.  It is my intention to catch up everyone this weekend.  With it being so pretty outside, it's hard to stay inside.
I did this birthday card for a friend at work and even though I'm not a big button user, I am hoping to do it more because I have seen some beautiful cards using them.  I was not very happy with this, but my friend really liked it, so I was glad of that.  It's like we always tell Patrick with regard to his trumpet, practice makes perfect, so I'll just keep practicing with buttons and hope to get there soon - they are fun to use, I must say.

Have a great weekend and I will talk to you soon.  Thanks for stopping by.

Free stamp opportunity

Hey everyone:

My great friend Wendy is the co-owner of Repeat Impressions and has her new blog up and going (The House that Stamps Built - you must read the story on how she got started, it's wonderful).  She is celebrating her birthday soon and to celebrate this, she is giving away a free stamp set if she is able to get 24 comments on her blog.  Please head on over, say hello and welcome Wendy to the blogging world.  I first met Wendy at the Stamp, Scrap & Art Tour 3 years ago when they came to Columbia - she is the sweetest lady and I always look forward to talking with her when she's not traveling all over the place :)

Wendy, I hope you have a very Happy Birthday.   Please go by and say hey, you'll be glad you did.

The beginning of a new week

I hope everyone had a great week and is looking forward to the new one coming up.  Daylight savings time started this morning and I can already tell the difference in loosing an hour of sleep, but am hoping that it doesn’t take too long for me to get adjusted.
birthday
My good friend Misty’s birthday was at the end of February and she loves the color purple.

When I was going through my embossing folders, I found this one from Stampin Up and knew it would be perfect for her.  Speaking of embossing folders, I was doing some work with my cuttlebug this weekend and it broke on me (I was so upset since I use that thing all the time), but luckily I have the Epic Six to work with  until I get a new one.

I hope everyone has a great Monday.
