Treat bag featuring My Mind's Eye Collectable - Unforgettable

My Mind's Eye Collectable - Unforgettable
Well after having a weekend of gloomy weather, today is suppose to be a much better day - thank goodness.  On Saturday, I showed you my tag creation for a gift I am giving to someone special this month and am now showing you the bag that gift is going into to.
The lady I made this for loves quilting and I have several friends who have been working on quilting blocks over the past months (waving to Karen, Jill & Linda, I am thoroughly enjoying what you have been showing us) and their inspiration has made me want to start quilting, but in a different way :)
I made a quilted treat bag :)  I weaved a 5x5 square and placed it on top of a 6x6 cardstock square, which in turn was placed on the bag, which had been decorated with strips of paper from the 6x6 paper pad.  I am very excited about giving this to my friend to get her view on what she thinks.
This will be my last time using this wonderful kit from My Mind's Eye Collectable - Unforgettable collection but can see myself picking up more because it was so great working with.  I hope you all will head over to The Hen's Den store and take a look at what products await you in this neat store.

Have a great Monday everyone.

Seize the Birthday challenge

Happy Sunday everyone.  We are still going through some nasty, rainy weather here in South Carolina, but that is the perfect excuse for me to stay in and catch up on some must needed creative time.  I always say I'm going to do it every weekend, but then it rolls around and I wind up doing none of it.
I have been wanting to participate in the Seize the Birthday challenge since it started, but this is the first time I have been able to get over there to see what the new sketch is and actually do it.  I have a lot of birthdays to prepare for this month and knew this would be the perfect way to get started.  I just love this sketch and can see using it often and not just for birthdays.  I did add a little something to us, but the lady I created this for loves flowers, so wanted to put one on there for her.  I got a little carried away with the re-inker, but didn't  want to trash it either, but after I placed it on the ribbon, I don't think it looks to bad.
I hope you will head over and join in as well.

See you tomorrow.

Janet

Saturday tag

My Mind's Eye Collectable - Unforgettable
Saturday tag
What a gloomy day it is here in South Carolina, but I'm not going to complain because that means I have to stay in the house creating all day long :)
Today, I am showing a tag I created that will go along with the project coming in another post on Monday (I know the wait will be hard, but Monday will be here before we know it).  I have a wonderful person in my life celebrating a birthday this month and wanted to create her something unique but couldn't stop there.
I had to make a treat bag so the gift could be placed in it and wanted it to be just as unique.  When Charlie asked me this week to post a project today, I knew exactly what to do - add to the treat bag :)  So, this is the tag that I created.  I can't wait to put it all together and show it to you soon.
Again, I used the wonderful collection from My Mind's Eye Collectable - Unforgettable, which is so wonderful.  I took some paper from the collection and did a weave pattern (it was so much easier than I thought it would be) - I really liked how it turned out in the end.  The tag with the butterfly will have her name on it, but couldn't do that quite yet then she would know it was for her.  I just love the country feeling of this line.

I hope everyone will enjoy their weekend and stay safe if you are out and about.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Ghost Town Part Two featuring My Mind's Eye Collectable - Unforgettable

My Mind's Eye Collectable - Unforgettable
Ghost Town in The Sky Part Two layout
Created by Janet G. Bagnall
March Chic Sketch designed by
Design Team Member Lori McClellan

Well, today is the day - it's Friday :) and I can't be happier because I have a lot of creating in my weekend plans.  Wow, what a week.  Today, I am going to show you the second page of my two-page layout using the My Mind's Eye Collectable - Unforgettable collection and the March Chic sketch that my fellow design team member Lori created.  I really enjoyed using this sketch and they have been placed in my sketch book to use again in the future.
I decided to do something different with my page, in that, I put a 2" strip of the Graphic 45 Coredinations "signature series" bon voyage cardstock in the middle of my Bazill yellow 12 x 12 cardstock and then covered the seams with the wonderful May Arts ribbon.  I love how it breaks it up to give it some color.  Also, instead of having the individual strips separate  decided to join them together and put them in the corners of the layout.
There are so many wonderful elements in this kit, I wanted to use them all, but didn't want to clutter it too much.
You can see in the full layout several pictures of the cowboys who, after their street fight, decided to have Elizabeth and Jared as prisoner's and then the knife wound up near my neck (how in the world that happened, I have no idea) - if you look close at that specific picture, you will see my hands are balled up in fist :)  I'm a nervous sort.  This will give you only a small example of how much fun it was in our house as these two were growing up - they were always putting on a show :)  I miss that so much, but Patrick is really good at putting on a show as well :)
I really hope you work with this great sketch and if you do, please stop by and let us know where to go so we can visit your blog.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Ghost Town in The Sky

My Mind's Eye Collectable - Unforgettable
Ghost Town in The Sky layout
Created by Janet G. Bagnall
Sketch designed by Lori McClellan
Happy 1st Monday of March everyone.  Can you believe I am saying that? Me neither. Today is my day to bring you a project using Lori's sketch while using the new My Mind's Eye Collectable - Unforgettable collection.  I was so excited when I opened up my kit and found all these goodies inside - I love everything about it.
Isn't this new Chic sketch from The Hen's Den great?  It was created by Design Team Member, Lori McClellan.  I love it and hope you will give it a try (please let us know if you do so we can take a peek).  I'm going to show you my completed layout in two parts so as to not overload you with so much fun - LOL :)  The one I'm showing you today is the title page.
We had taken Jared and Elizabeth to Ghost Town in The Sky years ago and when I went through my kit, came across this unique cardstock (well, it is to me) and an idea came to me.  I took a rectangle piece of brown Graphic 45 "Signature Series" Core'dinations cardstock, tore it down to the size I wanted, crumbled it up, distressed it with sandpaper and some Tim Holtz vintage photo ink and voilà, I got a faux leather look :)  I found the parks' name off their website, printed it out and place it on top of that.  What do you think?  I was pleased with the result.
While working on setting up my layout, I had it lined up with the strips going like Lori had it on her sketch, but after looking at it, I just couldn't get it to look right, so took those strips and put them underneath each picture.  I think it turned out pretty good.
This is a great collection that has lots of fun goodies to play with and look forward to using this collection often.  I am excited about showing you the rest of my take on this fun sketch soon.
Have a great Monday and hope you will head over to The Hens' Den store to take a look at all the great products Charlie has on hand.

Colorful Birthday

Hey everyone:
Hope you are all well.  It has been a busy one here in my neck of the woods :)  I was asked a few weeks back to make a birthday card for a friend of mine at work.  Her husband's birthday is tomorrow and wanted something special for him.  It does make me feel real good when someone ask me to do this because they wanted something specific to the one they are giving it to, so I wanted to make a card according to his likes.  Her husband likes the Chicago Bulls, so decided to use their colors instead of doing a basketball theme.  I was looking at several different sketches in my folder and came across this one and thought it would be perfect.  What are your thoughts?
Enjoy your evening and the upcoming week.
