Our little football player

Hi everyone:

I have no card to show you today, but am going to show you pictures of our little football player.  I was talking to my good friend Karen last week (Karen, sorry I haven't written back, but I will soon) about Patrick starting football and wanted to post these for her - also, Patrick says hello and hopes you, Phillip and Barney are having fun.  This is Patrick's first ever football season (this is his first game) and he is playing on a YMCA flag football team and even though he was hesitate at first, he seems to be enjoying it.

I haven't made many cards over the last few weeks (I have been in a slump and can't shake it - I am going back to DC in February and have been working on our itinerary and that has been really keeping me busy, but am almost done so I hope to get back to my card creating and blogging again soon).  I do want to thank everyone for the kind words you left me with regard to my post about trying to keep up - each and everyone of you touch my heart and I love you dearly.  I do try, but as you say, life does get in the way sometimes and I'm going to do the best I can, but know that I still think of everyone often and will get there soon.

I hope everyone has a great Monday

Chocolate brown

Hey everyone:

I real love the chocolate brown color I have been putting on my cards lately and it seems as though any color I pair it with goes great.  Here is one of the cards I put in a set I made for another fund raiser we had for my Uncle Don a few months back.  This was a simple card to make and know that I will be using this sketch a lot for other cards coming up.

Hope everyone is having a great week and trying to adjust to this time change.  I have been meaning to play with the Mint Motif stamps I purchased a while back and just haven't had a chance to yet, but tonight is the night - if you haven't had a chance to take a look at them, head over to i{heart}paper and take a look at the great stamps Kimberly has designed (they are awesome).

Monday

Good morning Monday:

I hope you all had a great weekend and pray this week goes well for you all.

A few months back, a friend from work had a beautiful baby girl and this is the card I made for her baby shower (I cased this card from someone and am horrible because I can't remember who it was in order to give them a thank you), but isn't it too cute.  It is very different and I really liked that - I don't use my crimper very often, but need to do so because it was so much fun working with it - Patrick even got involved with this one.  My baby gift to Christa was baby announcments and her little girl is now going on 2 months and I haven't been able to get with Christa to go over the ones she would like, but hopefully I can soon and once I do, I'll get the one she picked posted.

I hope everyone one has a great Monday and I'll talk to you soon.

It's Sunday already

Hi everyone:

I hope everyone is doing well and have enjoyed the weekend (we had to turn our clocks back this weekend, so we have gotten an extra hour, which is so nice).  I have been doing some soul searching lately and believe I have come to an important decision with regard to my card making, blogging and how to move forward.  I have been very neglectant with keeping up with my wonderful blogging friends I have met over the years and feel horrible that I have let them down and have even lost a few, which deeply saddens me.  I know life can sometimes take over, but I have to be honest and say there have been several days when I just got lazy because I was so tired that I don't stop in to say hello and there's no excuse for that.  I have been going through some organizational programs and have decided to start keeping a calendar to help me stay focused a little better.  I am one that usually goes by the seat of my pants, but don't believe that's going to work anymore.  Pray that it works for me and we should know in a week or so whether it's going to work - I know that I am determined to do better at keeping up with everyone.

Okay, now that I have talked long enough, here's a birthday card I made for an attorney in our office, who is so sweet that when I saw this flower, just knew it was for her.  As you can see, I once again used the textured embossing folder from SU (I just love it).  It was a simple card, but I thought it turned out well.

I hope everyone has a great week and I'll talk to you soon.

Election Day

Well, it's election day here in the states and, nope, I'm not going to discuss it :)  Instead, I'm going to give you something else to think about - a birthday card.  I must tell you at first, I wasn't sure how this card was going to turn out when I first started, but after taking the picture and looking at it for a whlie, it grew on me (I hate the picture doesn't do it justice but couldn't get it to look any better - I am going to take a photo class here soon and hope it will help me with lighting, etc.).  I really love the textured embossing folder from SU and know that you'll be seeing that a lot in the coming months.  I wish I could provide you with a  complete list of supplies, but can't locate the paper I wrote everything down on, so I'm sorry about that - I can tell you the flowers are Prima and I colored them with CTMH petal ink.
I am working on some cards for an upcoming holiday gift extravangnza at work and am looking forward to working on more Christmas cards (I have fallen in love with Flower Soft all over again).

I hope everyone is enjoying the week.
