  Hi everyone:

I hope everyone has had a great weekend.  Me, it's been a nice relaxing one in which I organized and made a few cards.  I have been very lax in creating lately and can tell by these two - I am not very happy with them, but Jim said they looked good, so I'm going with them.  Please pass on your opinion.

American Idol and graduation

Well, while I'm sitting here watching American Idol (only 3 left - go LEE), I am uploading a graduation card I did for a lady who graduated recently from college and we are so proud of her.

I want to send out congratulations to all the students, young and old, who are graduating - so much dedication goes into school now a days and getting to this point is a great accomplishment.

I did something different on this card.  If you take a closer look at the patterned paper, it has different fonts on there - well, I couldn't find any paper I liked, so I got creative and came up with my own.  I can tell this is going to be something I do often and I'm going to learn how to print out digital papers as well (looking forward to that).    I am really happy with how it turned out  and look forward to hearing your thoughts on it.

Well, Lee is getting ready to come on, so I'm off.  Have a great one !!!

Star challenge

My friend Denise over a Stamping Vacation has an interesting new challenge that I just had to give a try.  The name of this challenge is "Clear As Mud" and it really makes you think outside of the box in a very unique fashion.  You have to head over, take a look and then give it a try.  The challenge word for this month is "Star" and since I think moms are stars in every way, I thought  a mother's day card would be wonderful for this challenge.  The one you see below is one I did for a lady at work who asked me to make several a few weeks back.

Thanks Denise for such an interesting challenge and lookf orward to the next one.

Happy Mother's Day !!!

It’s May already …

… can you believe it?  This year is just flying by and will be over before we know it.

I went to Charleston, SC this weekend to celebrate National Scrapbook Day at Charleston Scrapbooking and had a great time.  I was going to take a class with the very talented Keri Lee Sereika but her daughter was sick, so she wasn’t able to make it, but I still had a wonderful time.  The owner, Karla, was so sweet and made me feel right at home (she has a great store, so if you are ever down that way, you must go by and say hello).  I did a few make and takes, one of which was using Flower Soft.  Now I have tried this a few times and didn’t like how it turned out, but after some interesting instructions, I left the class with a lot more confidence on using it and knew I would be using it to make a card for a birthday coming up. Well, I have rambled on, so I’m going to bid you all good night and I hope you have a great Monday.
