Celebrating Audrey's birthday, in all her glory

Audrey has been looking forward to August 10th for the last six months-the day she turned four. The night before her big day, we asked her how old she was then,

and how old she would be in the morning. She was pretty excited!

On the morning of her birthday, she had princess fruit snacks for breakfast. She has been looking forward to having treats for breakfast on her birthday for quite a while. I had cereal, and then treats.
*My sweet, sweet sister in laws left on Sunday night, taking Joshua with them back to California! Audrey's birthday was on Monday, and then Audrey and I flew to California on Tuesday-but that is a whole new post, coming soon. That is why there are no pictures of Joshua on Audrey's special day.

After our sugar rush of a breakfast, we headed to the pool with some friends and spent the morning swimming,

and eating more sugar. Princess themed, naturally.

Since we had no naps to get home for, Audrey and I were able to go on a special girl date and we spent the afternoon at a store called Sassy and Sweet. Side note: Audrey would give me major attitude and then be really sweet to me, and I asked her what was going on and she said, "Well the name of the store is sassy, then sweet!" So we changed the name of the store in our family to "Not Sassy, Only Sweet". Oh my.
Audrey loves this store. On her special day she was able to get her nails done,

and be doused in glitter. She loved twirling around and watching herself sparkle.

And my all time favorite part of the day...
Audrey's singing debut. She came out on this stage and sang, and danced her little heart out. Being the sentimental sally I am, it made me all teary realizing how quickly she is growing up.
Don't mind the yellow smiley face necklace. It was a birthday gift and since it was her birthday, she got to wear whatever she wanted.

After we twirled and whirled around at "Not Sassy, Only Sweet" we came home, picked up Dave and went to Taco Bueno for dinner, her choice. She loves "dipping chips in the blonde sauce" (queso dip). After dinner, some friends came over for more celebrating.

Opening presents. She really wanted a caboodle (Dave calls it a pink tackle box, and I guess it is) and she was so excited when she opened it. "It's exactly what I wanted!"

Happy Birthday to our sweet four year old. What would I do without you? You make me smile everyday, you are such a wonderful sister to Joshua, and you are one of the many reasons I love your Daddy so much.

Her, looking at her

A few weeks ago we drove to the Pottery Barn Kids in downtown Dallas because we heard Audrey was in the window display. As we walked up I said, "Hey Audrey, who is that?" She looked at it and just said, "Me". She never really gets excited to see herself or doesn't think it is a big deal. That's good I guess, better that way than having a little diva on my hands.

I think the picture they chose to put in the window is an odd choice. I don't think it is even very cute of Audrey, and she almost looks blurry to me. Oh well, that is their job. My job is making sure Audrey eats her vegetables and making sure she knows she is loved.

How could I forget?!??!?!

The SHOPPING! Both with my my Mom and Jess, AND with Alli and Kristin, we went to Sam Moons in Dallas. Fun, fun, store. They have a home store next door and that is a really fun store as well. Alli (sister-in-law) heard Melissa Rycroft (ex-Bachelorette turned Dancing with the Stars runner up) talk about a shoe store that we had to check out as well. Fun finds at all three stores and somehow I lucked out and ended up with something from each store without ever paying...thank you for spoiling me, everyone. I think of you often as I use my fun new items.

Aunties

Dave's sisters were nice enough to come visit us the weekend before Audrey's birthday. They are such great Aunties and their stay was not long enough. We ate, we played, we swam, we talked, we laughed. Thank you for coming, please come again soon.

Dinner at the Bass Pro Shop. Classy, I know.

Target practice after dinner, love it.

Good 'ol Texas BBQ. We got it to go and then took it to Chuck E. Cheese so the kids could eat the nasty pizza and the adults had brisket, ribs, baked beans, mashed potatoes, green beans, and fried okra. Then we all had fun playing with the games. Alli and I ruled the Fireman game.

My little Texans.

They also have an underwater camera and we took some fun pictures at the pool. Alli uploaded them onto our computer, but I can't find them! Alli, help!

Grande, D, and Aunt Jess come to town!

At the end of July, my Dad, Mom and sister Jess came to visit. We had such a fun time, and we loved having them and showing them our new Texas life.

Whenever we would go see my parents in California, Audrey would sleep with Aunt Jess, which was fine because Aunt Jess has a king size bed. Audrey wanted to return the favor and let Aunt Jess sleep with her, in her twin bed. Aunt Jess so kindly obliged.

D introduced Joshua to yogurt and granola for breakfast, and he loved it. Here they are doing 'cheers' with their spoons.

We went to the pool and such a fun time with their underwater camera.

My favorite one.

After swimming we went to Taco Bueno (like a Taco Bell). Joshua was very pleased.

We went to the Bass Pro Shop to check it out. Joshua couldn't keep his eyes off the bear.

Nothing like a little target practice.

Since it was so close to Audrey's birthday, my parents gave Audrey her gifts here in Texas. She especially loved the doctor kit,

and her very own set of scriptures. My parents have my set from when I was her age that I colored in during family scripture time. Priceless.

Playing Rook. Audrey was a very good helper.

Audrey is signed up for soccer, so being the soccer star she is, Aunt Jess was able to give some one on one coaching to Miss Audrey. Audrey didn't want to wear the shin guards, but once we explained to her that they were like soccer jewelry, she was all over it.

Everyone got involved. It was so fun.

Thank you for coming and spoiling us rotten. We love you so much! And I love these pictures of Aunt Jess and Audrey.
