He's engaged!
My one and only brother is engaged, and he (and we) couldn't be more happy. He has five sisters and somehow he has found a girl to marry that every one of us love. Welcome to our family, Carrie.

Laugh or cry
This was the 9,234,633,274 mess I cleaned today, and it was only about 8:30 am. At times like this, I could either laugh or cry. I think I did a little of both.

Sunbeam
Sunbeam: a ray of sunlight
Audrey: our very own ray of sunlight, in every way.
Welcome to Primary, Audrey. I was one of "those moms" who dropped of their child on the first day of Primary, who wanted to cry, but somehow held it together, and then went straight to the back of the room to silently spy on my offspring. She sat still, volunteered to help during music time, and at one point turned around and saw me. I thought she was going to freak out and want to come sit by me, but instead she waved her fingers at me and blew me a kiss. I left after that and ran back as soon as church was over to pick her up. The primary doors were still closed, but I smashed my face up to the crack just in time to watch Audrey give the closing prayer in front of everyone. That was the first thing she said to, "Mom! I got to talk in the microwave!" (microphone)
I love you, my little sunbeam.

10 months
At 10 months, Joshua:
*can do the sign for "more" (which he does a lot)
*crawls everywhere and gets into everything.
*loves, loves, loves to dance. He will hear music and swing his head from side to side
Audrey (three years and five months)and Joshua:
At this age, Audrey:
*still loves everything princess
*loves to watch movies (she would watch them all day if I let her, and I'm not going to lie, some days I am tempted...I could get so much done!)
*loves doing "high school" with her mom
*calls her little brother, "Zoshua" because she can't really pronounce her "J" sounds. I love it.
*Loves to take pictures and says, "Say zeeze!" (She is trying to say, "Say cheese!") So then I say, "Zeeze!" and she says, "No! Not zeeze! It's zeeze!" It's hysterical.

9 months
Joshua turned nine months old on December 9th (I know I am a little behind). I have a hard time when my babies turn nine months old. I feel like they are getting so old-the have been on the "outside" for as long as they were "inside". I had big plans to take Joshua's picture on the couch like I always do, but with Christmas coming I got too busy and I forgot. Here is the only picture I got of him that day, and thank heavens Dave took it.
At nine months Joshua:
*loves to communicate by "talking" to you. If I say, "hhhmmmm" then he will respond by saying, "hhhmmmmm." Sometimes he even starts the conversation.
* every time he eats he runs his fingers through his hair (note the picture).
* still doesn't crawl. He started crawling on Dec 18. No progressive army crawling, or getting on all fours and rocking, just one day he didn't move and the next day he did.
Audrey at nine months old:
On the way to church with the big 'ol flower
It had record breaking rain going on at the time (something crazy like 32 days in a row or something horrific like that). We were leaving to go to Mexico soon and I was SO glad to be getting out of the rain. We had a little fashion show with Audrey's bathing suits one dreary rainy day.
This picture was taken in Mexico, and it is my all time favorite picture of Audrey and her D.

Family time
Dave just uploaded the pictures from his phone onto the computer. I found these and I didn't want to forget that fun night. Dave was able to come home from school at a reasonable time, the weather was perfect, and our kids were behaving so we took a nice long walk all around this beautiful city.

Two girls on a rainy day
What do you get when you have two girls on a rainy day, with a baby boy who is taking a morning nap, and lots of makeup? Lots of beautifying.

Princess "fix it"
We gave Joshua a tool set for Christmas, and his big sister has taken a liking to it. She called herself the doctor and she would come by and ask us, her "patients" what needed to be fixed. What a helpful little lady.

Rapunzel, rapunzel...
Audrey drew this picture all by herself and informed us it was Rupunzel. She must have princess in her blood. I don't think I have ever told her the story of Rupunzel. Where does she learn this stuff?

What are you doing New Years?
My parents were out of town so we decided to go on vacation to their house. It was fabulous. We got there New Years Eve Day and went and grabbed some take out for dinner (gotta love suburbia). After a yummy dinner I was the lucky recipient of a manicure (compliments from Audrey and her new "cosmetics" from Santa). We put the kids to bed and Dave and I started watching LOST. We watched the first two pilot episodes (we are now hooked) and then watched Dick Clark ring in the New Year. I told Dave that sad would be the day in my book when we don't make it until midnight. I will officially feel old. At 11:45 pm Dave suggested we go to bed, and he was serious. We barely made it until midnight, finished off the box of Sees candy that we started and went off to bed. It was a low key, yet fabulous New Years. Happy 2009!
