Tim Holtz's Artful Holiday Journal

It has been nice to take the week off from work.  Not only to celebrate with family and friends for Thanksgiving, but to also do some crafting.

Recently, Tim Holtz had his Etsy store open with some items he and his amazing team created.  One of them was the artful holiday journal, which I had to have.  I was one of the lucky ones to purchase one, as Tim had mentioned in his blog that the whole store sold out in 10 minutes!

Here are some pictures I took of the journal in pieces and the completed journal.

Hitting the books

Back in August, I decided to go forward with my plans to continue my education.  I had decided to go ahead with pursuing a certificate in project management through UC Berkeley extension.  Six courses to complete in five years with the credits to go towards Project Management Certification .  I already got an A in my first course, now doing the course on contracts. Its pretty tough going through the courses online and only eight weeks, but it is so worthwhile for me to finish what I started over three years ago.

Hence why I haven't been blogging lately or been crafting.  I do have some project ideas laid out to work on during the Thanksgiving holiday, so you will see me pop in from time to time in between school work.  I still do read from my followers and appreciate you sticking with me, as I am still reading your blogs.  Until next time...

Tagging!

I have been on a Tim Holtz high!  Just wanted to share two tags with you that I made with (of course) Tim Holtz products.

Embossed Paris

Had trouble with the embossing of the image, so I typed up a quick e-mail to Tim asking what I may have done wrong.  His answer - keep on heating the image!  So I did and it turned out great!

Supplies:

Craft tags (#8) - Ranger
Tim Holtz distress inks: Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, and Antique Linen, Fired Brick
Ranger distress embossing powder - walnut stain
Stamps from Tim's Stampers Anonymous collection

And here is another tag I made after seeing Tim's tutorial on fragments:

Supplies:
Tim Holtz distress inks fired brick, walnut stain and dusty concord
Archive Ink - black
Stamps from Tim's Stampers Anonymous collection
Tim Holtz fragments, glued with Glossy Accents on we R Memories designer paper
Tim Holtz buttons with tissue tape flower.  Click here for the tutorial to make the flower

My class with Tim Holtz! - updated with project

I enjoyed a fabulous class with Tim Holtz, who visited Scrapbook Island in San Jose, CA.  He taught four classes over the past weekend, one I could only take - patchwork pandemonium.  And boy did I learn a lot.  One of the best memories was meeting Tim and his partner-in-crime Mario before the class to give them their thank you gifts for coming,  Below are pictures of the gifts and a few pictures from the class.

Tim made me promise to finish my patchwork and send him a picture, which I definitely will do and will share.  Tim and Mario both loved the gifts I gave them. :)

UPDATED 8/7 - here is my finished project!

Tim Holtz coming to San Jose!!!

Today is a happy day!  After being down with a fever and exhaustion, the news of Tim Holtz coming to Scrapbook Island San Jose lifted my spirits!  He will be at Scrapbook Island July 30th and 31st to teach a number of classes.  I was able to get into the Patchwork Pandemonium class.  Call the Island at 408-978-8900 to sign up!  Spots are filling fast!

Hugs,

Been MIA...

It has been awhile since I have been blogging, but I am still around and still crafting, just been super busy with work and family.  I also got the hang of my temporary camera so now I can finally take pictures of my work.  Will be blogging more soon!

A Quick Card....

I have finally been getting my creative juices flowing again.  And just in time to celebrate the day of love...Valentine's Day!  I love seeing all the different shades of red and pink, but boy candy and chocolate is a no no for me, as I am trying to lose a little before my best friend's wedding in March.  Doing good so far!

I have had the Tuffy set for sometime now from La-La Land Crafts and finally got to play with him and his cute toys.  I made this card below for my husband for Valentine's Day, featuring Tuffy!  Just in time to enter their monthly customer gallery!

I used some Bazzil red and brown cardstock, stamped with Hero Arts sentiments.  The designer paper is from Bo Bunny.  Tuffy was colored with Copics and pop dotted on the heart.

Thanks for stopping by!  See you soon!
