Mom: Well, what did you guys think?
Lucy: Oh I just loved it!
Liam: It was too long and I did not enjoy it at all.

Guess this means Liam won't be going to see the Nutcracker.

Now I need to learn 'Cathleen Marie'.  Why did they have to give me such a long name?

Let the Summer Begin...

Our neighborhood pool is officially open for the summer.  Here's Lucy practicing her breast stroke. We bet by the end of the summer she will have perfected her technique.

Spring Festival (April 2012)

We have been walking around the house humming, singing, and dancing to the new songs we've been learning in school. Mommy suspected it was for the Spring Festival at school -- and as usual she was right. Remember our first performance? "It is Spring and it's time to fly a kite..."



We've come a long way. See if you can spot us (we're in green)....

 

 Here are the songs up close and personal.  Sorry we're not that perky.  Mommy made us do it after a long day at the pool so we were a bit tired (Lucy was already in her jammies).  Enjoy!









* Liam's 'Family of the Sun' wasn't part of the Spring Festival but Mommy threw it in b/c he comes home every day with a new planet.  He's our go-to expert when it comes to space.

Celebration of Life

We had our 'celebrations of life' a little early since there's no school in July.  We (especially Lucy) have been SO excited to celebrate our birthday with classmates.  Our teachers really make the day special for us.  Here's some [lengthy] footage of our celebrations...



Lucy's was on Wednesday, Liam's was on Thursday so they could celebrate together.  You get to pick five friends to sing around us.  Then you get to pick another friend to help pass out rice krispie treats.  Liam wanted to be in Lucy's circle and Lucy wanted to help Liam pass out treats.  We had discussed the logistics ahead of time so we knew what our roles would be.

Birdhouses (April 2012)

Mommy thought it would be a fun spring project to paint birdhouses.  So we spent the better half of an afternoon carefully (and quietly) painting.  Lucy went with a Key West look (full of color), while Liam went the monochormatic route.  Both looked fantastic.

Liam keeps his inside because he likes to play with it.  Lucy filled hers with birdseed and put it outside.  Unfortunately, the squirrels found it first.  Guess their fat little bodies couldn't fit inside - but they sure tried.

Liam took one look and said, "Don't worry Lucy, Papa can build you another one."

Easter Part I (April 2012)

Easter-egg hunting really brings out our competitiveness.  And over Easter weekend we had many opportunities to hunt (and shove, push, kick, yell, whine, and cry).  We had a practice run at our neighborhood hunt where over 50 kids showed up.  There were probably about 300 eggs and 1 golden egg.  Whoever found the golden egg got a special basket full of goodies.  And guess who won?

Needless to say Lucy was not very happy for her brother who, after winning, cheerfully said, "Don't worry Lucy, I will share it with you."  Green sash forgotten.
