So this year's Vday was a little different for me because I had to work on Sunday, which happens to be Vday. Thus, I made it a point to have an advanced Vday celebration with Breadman at Sufood Singapore, Raffles City outlet. Do you know that now they have another new outlet at Wheelock Place? I cant remember how many times I have been to Sufood, I think more than 5 times? Loving it each time! Trying my best to be more inclined towards vegetarian food as I guess it helps the earth better. So, I made a reservation at Sufood a week before 13th Feb and it is decided that we would have the vday set at $58 for 2 peeps, Nett. Can you believe your eyes!? I guess that's the price for 1 pax at most restaurants on Vday, so I am very very glad that they have this amazing deal.
So what is inclusive in this set meal? It is inclusive of : 2 starters, 1 salad, 2 main courses, 1 dessert, 1 alcohol free champagne.
Official picture posted on Sufood Singapore. Yums!
Here comes the appetizer (starter)! The order of eating: from right to left. On the right is a delicate trio of poached Japanese yuca root drizzled with a blueberry coulish. I have always loved this because it tastes so much like Japanese Yam and I love the crunchiness. Something for a change would be silken tofu coated with oreo crusts. On the left is the usual cherry tomato jelly. It's tanginess is just nice to whet your appetite.
I was surprised by this beautiful sight of Strawberry Kisses salad! It comes with strawberry sauce placed separately. This colourful mix consists of Italian baby greens, taro strips and pineapples. I love the Italian baby greens so much that I have asked Breadman multiple times during the meal whether can we get them in any nearby supermarkets?
While awaiting for the main courses, here's a sip at our non-alcoholic champagne!
The only little complain is that there's no ice :( Thus it felt a little strange to be sipping room temperature champagne.
A happy girl!
After a 15 mins wait, here comes our mains!
Breadman had the Angelic Truffle Mushroom Pasta, which is truffle infused angel hair pasta with mushrooms, veggie balls and lettuce. I took a bite from this but there's something strange about the truffle taste which did not resonate well with me. Breadman commented that the portion for this is slightly small, not enough to feed this hungry cow.
I had the Strawberry Clover Pizza, paired with cheese baked rice contained in a cute yellow capsicum. I like how Sufood puts in effort in every detail to make their dishes follow the vday theme, from the colours of the ingredients, to the little edible heart sweets used to adorn the plates. The baked rice was nice and yummy. For the pizza, it didnt fare too well because it was mainly strawberries on top of plain dough. There was no saltiness at all in the pizza base.
To end the night with a sweet note, here's 2 strawberry hearts jelly!
I love this dish as well and I feel so loved just by looking at it. It is light and refreshing and pleasing to the eye. Haha. Sufood, you nailed this one on its head! Well that's a little doodle done by me on the left...Haha
That's Breadman having fun with the doodles! To kill time, we played pictionary and it was surprisingly fun, especially with the Chinese Idioms.
The caricature of us is a gift from me to Breadman. I didnt think it was that well done. Hmmm, but well, it still represents us.
A picture of us with the mini-me.
