Good Bye Mr. Lee Kuan Yew

During our first National Day Parade 1968, we showed the world that we could go on with the parade despite it raining heavily.Today on 29 March 2015 during Mr. Lee's procession, thousands or tens of thousands of Singaporeans once again braved the rain while waiting to bid a final farewell to him. I m not there personally, but just witnessing the scene on tv in which Singaporeans are standing there in unity, holding their multicolored umbrellas, makes me feel really touched. This is the Singapore spirit. Thank you Mr. Lee for inculcating this spirit in us. My heart is really heavy as I type this.

Thank You Mr. Lee Kuan Yew

Before I slept yesterday night, I was still praying that Mr. Lee will pull through, so that he can witness our SG50 celebration, his fruits of labour. This morning, I was deeply saddened to learn of his passing on at 3.18am. Yes, so with a heavy heart, I set off to work. It turned out that a cloud of heaviness shrouded office and lots of pple were donned in dark colors. Yes, we have definitely lost a great man, no one can deny that. Colleagues were discussing about plans to pay respect to the great man. I would be heading down on Thursday separately as I happen to be on leave. I have gotten all teary as i read the newspaper articles featuring him. When i watch the news, i began to tear again. This is because I know i owe the peace and security that we have to him. I am able to receive education and communicate well in English language and it's all due to his efforts at emphasizing on education.
On this day, the nation grieves for the loss of our founding Father, one that has put in his heart and soul in making Singapore succeed. We overcome all odds, despite our separation from Malaya and our lack of natural resources, yet we managed to achieve our economic position and have today's peace and security. Sir, without you, we wouldn't be who we are today. We wouldn't be able to move from a third world to a first world country, one that is recognized by other giants in the world. I am deeply moved by your passion in Singapore, even till your last breath. Thank you so much and I salute you for your efforts. As always, I am proud to be a true blue Singaporean and you will always be fondly remembered in our hearts. Thank you for rembering our Pioneer Generation and to honour their contributions well. Sir, rest in peace. You have fought the good fight. It's time to rest. Thank you.

Good Old Friends

You know some friends are forever the moment you can yak non stop with no awkward silences and u feel just as comfortable in your own skin. Yep, that's the feeling I derive when I met Wenqi, Nat, jocelyn and Eileen. Yes, we may not meet often, we may not even text often, but the moment we meet, the sense of familiarity is there. Times might have changed, but such friendships do not. Really grateful to have them around me! Next meetup will be with my primary school cum secondary school friends! I know they will definitely ask where I disappeared to these 2 years, but I m glad to do the explanations. Thank you to all my dear friends n I m deeply appreciative.

And to my other friends whom I told u to give me some time before I decided to seek u guys out, not to worry, u are not forgotten! I keep to my word. I never go back on them. To the one who stays near me, not to worry, I will find u when time's right, so just be patient :)

And to others who have doubted me, that's unfortunate. Trust is important n u failed to do that. So no more friends we shall be.

Last but not least, hope Nat can work in my office! Boss said to interview him on Monday.  Cuz we are a bunch of compassionate n fun individuals so work is definitely fun! However boss was slightly disapproving when I suggested hiring males. Probably jealousy la. He wants to be the only male who can help out all of us ladies in his team. Thus he is afraid he might lose favour. Haha. Sometimes boss isn't like a boss, but more of our friend and I m thankful for that.

Life's good! Carpe Diem.

Happy Yuan Xiao Festival!

Haf u had yr share of tang yuan today? I haven't :( cuz mom didn't prepare n I forgot this day must eat dumplings. Nonetheless, I went back parents' home n had some quality time spent with parents n sister. Today's also valentines' day for the Asians! Happy v day, Breadman! Looking forward to our 4th staycation on my birthday :)
Also, the Aussie business trip is confirmed. To be exact, it is a conference about Alzheimer's. It should come in handy at work because i deal with dementia patients as well.
There is no way I can get away from it. Who expects nursing homes to b so atas these days such that we haf the chance to travel leh. During my job interview, I still told HR specifically that I will not travel n they still said nah, no travelling required. Now u asking me to travel. Sobs. Alas, it's time to address my phobia of travelling after 3 years of abstinence from it. For those who are curious why I stopped travelling, it's because I fell sick for 1.5 years after going to Macau n zhu Hai. Second day of the trip I already found myself being so bloated n unable to swallow. Everyday couldn't sleep cuz it was damn cold n I didn't bring enough clothes as I didn't expect it to b cold. It was freezing cold, with chilly winds blowing at yr face. I wore 3 layers of cotton clothes in Macau; still fell sick. This time in Aussie, I will b donning more layers. And prep my long johns! Lesson learnt, it is better to over than under prepare. I shall try my very best to look forward to this trip. Having the jitters though. One good thing, at least I dun need to pay a single cent for the conference, accommodation, meals. Also heard that we might be visiting the various nursing homes in Aussie because they work really differently from Singapore homes. Trying to psycho myself: I REALLY WANT TO GO PERTH!
*gulps. A bit too forced. Haha. I think I m the only one who doesn't sound happy when someone tells u that u are invited to a free trip. Well, that's just me. Hoping the temp in Perth will continue to stay at 34degrees rather than drop.. I love the hot weather rather than e cold.
