Merry Christmas 2015!

Merry Christmas to everyone still reading my blog, I know I still have some ardent readers! This year has been good for me and if you know, I have had the tradition of celebrating Christmas even though I am neither a Christian nor a Catholic. To me, Christmas is nothing religious and it is a season of giving and love. Everyone can celebrate it. I take this time to spend time with my loved ones, it is a time for us to forge closer bonds. As usual, December is always the period in which I m the most broke. Haha. But I always enjoy gifting, and receiving gifts. This is because I love the feeling and excitement of ripping the gift wrapper apart, unveiling the treasures within. Haha. So this year, I received shampoo, ionic soap, Tupperware bottle, chicken essence, perfume and a capitaland mall voucher and ck agile watch from my beloved Breadman. So what did I give others in return? A laneige lipstick, omega 3 capsules for the boss, laneige lip mask, cute notebook n post it pad, mr bean biscuits and two van Heusen office shirts for the beau.

So on Christmas Eve, my family had a gathering and we had a potluck. I brought the famous jiu xian tau huay which originated from Taiwan. After dinner, we played poker cards, no gambling of course! We only gamble once per year on lunar new year. All in all, my Christmas was a cozy one, and all we did was chit chat, watch tv, makan n play cards, which seemed like what we usually did everyday. Haha. Although I am dreading work a little tomorrow cuz it is supposedly a long weekend for most peeps, I m looking forward to watching Ip Man 3, starring my favorite Donnie Yen! Well, sometimes I do fantasize about him, how good it would be if breadman can be at least half of him. Haha

My company all prepared for Christmas! This is done by two people, from scratch, even sawing the logs! I am seriously impressed.

                                             Presents I gave my colleagues!

My ck agile! In rose gold. Can you believe that I have been eyeing on this since 2 years back? I have been waiting for its price to drop, but it has never dropped..

Very elegant watch, to pair with the elegant me. Wahaha. My skin tone not so nice though, but I am sure I still can carry it off!

Merry Christmas once again!

Getting Yourself Insured

When my second sister was hospitalised recently due to pneumonia it became a wake up call for all of us. Life's really unpredictable.  Hence, recently, I decided to meet up with 4th sister's insurance agent from Prudential. Even though medishield life is already in place, I still felt that it is better to get an integrated shield plan with rider. So for mine, I pay $366 by cash per year and $200 by medisave. This plan covers 100 percent of your hospitalization fees. Plus, I would prefer to go to private hospital or stay in b1 ward. This is because I have seen how serious is the bed crunch issue at government hospitals. So while you can still afford it as premiums are lower when you are younger, it is better to get yourself insured. After getting the insurance, I feel more or less more at ease. Now I have both savings plan as well as medical insurance. It feels complete. So have you purchased your insurance yet?

Day 1: Eating Clean

I have embarked on my 30-day eating clean challenge! Why that sudden change? This is because my skin is terribly dry, I even have eczema like symptoms on my feet, even though doc said it could just be a bacterial infection. My menstrual cycle is messed up such that it used to only come once every 3 months. So when antibiotics n cream do not help for my feet, I suspect it has something to do with my immunity. Admit it, I only eat 1 serving of fruits n vegetables per day, and I m not drinking enough water. My water intake should be 2.4 liters to 3 liters given my body weight. But somedays I m only drinking 1.5 liters. Thus, when all things external do not help in improving yr symptoms, I have decided to eat clean. By my definition, eating clean means saying no to processed food, fried food. Seasoning n sauces are to be kept as minimum as possible. If sauces are inevitable, these sauces ought to be made from natural ingredients. Thus, I m saying goodbye to my sweet onion sauce which I pair with my subway sandwiches. Wow, so I m also bidding goodbye to fish balls, fish cake, canned tuna, hotdog buns, cakes, waffles, ice-cream. That is a whole of sacrifice. Haha. I m hopeful that my body will be thankful to me at the end of the day.
Here's a look at my meals today!

Breakfast and dinner are the same: oats with chia seeds, brown rice powder, topped with blueberries

Lunch was at Maki-San which is similar to Subway except that this is sushi rice roll. I had the Mega san ($11.90). My sushi roll was made of brown rice, roasted mushroom, cucumbers, carrots, roasted chicken, avocados. This is wrapped in soy skin, where I had to topped up a dollar for this healthier choice. This is really really filling! I ate it at 230 pm or so n it lasted me till 8pm when I had oats for dinner. It might be a tad pricey, but it is hearty n low in GI which meant that it kept me full longer.

Well, so this is day 1, hope I can survive day 2 when I return to office tomorrow.

I can cook!

If I can cook, it means u can too! These are pics of the dishes I whipped up, yes I am definitely a noodle>rice person. This means I can't do without noodle dishes but I can in fact give up rice totally ! Coincidentally, these are all mee sua dishes!
Look at those beautifully cut carrots! Grouper Mee Sua with lettuce

Tau Kwa Mee Sua with Mixed Vegetables

Salmon Mee Sua with Bok Choy. Salmon is my favorite type of fish and you do not need to add any oil when pan frying because it is a type of oily fish with really good source of omega 3.

Try cooking sometime! As easy as ABC.

Happy Diwali 2015!

Happy Diwali to all my Hindu friends! I had a fabulous celebration at office the other day and it is also my first time donning a sari! Thanks to my colleague Indira, who loaned me her white and lime green sari that's made of chiffon material. It is lightweight and airy. And yes, you must show off a bit of your tummy! Lucky for me, the sari blouse is quite long so I did not have to show much skin. I have always wanted to wear it as it is really elegant and graceful, thus this is really a wish come true. The best part of it, the sari suits everyone of all sizes! Haha. So here are some pictures taken with my beautiful colleagues. The skinny long haired girl is my bff at work, Miss Cheng. Everyone calls her that but she can't fathom why that special formality. The rest of us are just called by our last names. It was really a fun day during the celebrations, where we lit the oil lamps n also helped to scoop food at the food trays for our residents. It is indeed a lot of fun! Till next year then, surely I will wear a sari again!

Mid Autumn Festival 2015

Happy Mid Autumn Festival 2015? Have you had your share of moon cakes yet? This year we bought the premium collection snow skin moon cakes from Prima Deli (support home grown brands!) which comes in 9 unique flavors like mint, tiramisu, Thai milk tea, peanut butter, mango and lemongrass etc, as pictured below. Tried a few n my fav is the mango n lemongrass one as it is really refreshing and it is not cloyingly sweet. The Thai milk tea one tasted kind of strange though, slightly milky n it is different from drinking the milk tea in real life. Yep, that's about it, no big fancy names for us this year as the family is not that keen on moon cakes due to its high sugar content. Decided to skip the lanterns n sparklers this year cuz of the haze, n I dun really see much kids playing them as well. It's kinda quiet. Alrighty, let's hope next year the haze period wouldn't coincide with this festival, taking away all our fun!

Happy 4th Anniversary!

Celebrated with Breadman our 4th anniversary today! All's well, no quarrels, a very happy day despite not going according to his plans. Went to watch Pixels at Lido at 1010am in the morning, and it is a really good show! All those vintage arcade n computer games like frog leaper, donkey kong and pac man were featured in the movie. Well, it does bring back good old memories for the old kid like me and suddenly I feel like playing them again! Pixelated images were such a hit back then. I m an 80s kid, so I believe people from my age group should have the same sentiments. This is something special that the 90s kids will not understand. I m so glad to watch that movie as I get to relive my childhood days again!

Went to have our lunch at The Marmalade Pantry thereafter and the food's really good! Spent close to $100 as we ate cakes too, so v expensive. So only once in a while can indulge.

After that his surprise for me was to go to Art Science Museum to catch the exhibitions, a pity that the queue was duper long n all tix online were sold out, thus I decided to give it a miss. Especially when e haze is so bad. So we spent the time shopping at MBS. Combed through the whole place n them we watched the sampan man rowing the sampan. Ended the day by having our dinner at The French Table, which serves fusion food. Prices r quite pocket friendly n mostly below $20, which is a stark contrast to a The Marmalade Pantry. That's about it! Spent the whole day out with Breadman, time flies just like that.

Happy anniversary again! Looking forward to our staycation on 17th October!

Combating the Haze

Yipee! We received 3 masks today to beat the very hazy situation! All of us were so excited to receive our masks (not that we actually wanted to use it), because we did not expect to have it. That's part of staff welfare benefits. I am a huge fan of 3M products btw, from its post its to its acne patch and now to masks. Haha. Let's hope the light rain that just took place would wash away the polluted air. Have a great Tuesday, everyone!

General Election 2015 Results

Woo Hoo! The results are certainly outstanding! Well, I guess this is clearly indicative of which political party I m supportive of. Yes, the ruling party and I have nothing to hide. No, it isnt the LKY effect or SG50 Jubilee year effect or whatever. The medishield life and efforts at honouring Pioneer Generation's efforts certainly win my vote.  Probably because I work at the social service sector and especially with the elderly, I have seen how the Pioneer Generation Disability assistance Scheme help the financially needy who suffers from medical conditions. When I help family members put up for the application for the scheme, many of them express much gratitute.

I m happy with the big win but at the same time, I am also glad that we still do have some opposing voices in the parliament, thus I guess it's really good news for me. Let us work together towards SG100, as one united people, irregardless our political inclination.

General Elections 2015

Casted my vote just now at a secondary school, just like what I did 5 years ago... As usual, I was kind of confused while in the polling centre. Haha.. Where's the box to put my vote? Is it in front? For my case, we actually had to walk back and that's where the box is located. It isn't the case of walking straight ahead as I presumed. Luckily all went well and I avoided the crowd when I went in at 1230pm. Every single vote counts, so let's hope everyone can vote wisely. Singapore's future gonna be determined tonight! Shall stay up to watch the results live, though I have to head to work tomorrow. This is really a tough fight and I am excited yet worried about the outcome. Nonetheless, I love Singapore no matter what happens. Patriotic me.

Happy 50th Birthday Singapore!

Worked up at 815am today specially so that I can watch the late Mr. Lee Kuan Yew reading out the proclamation of Singapore's independence on 9 August, 1965 on TV at 9am. It was only a mere 5 mins but it did stir up the emotions in me. I then sang the national anthem and recited the pledge. Yes, I m truly proud to be a Singaporean. We owe the achievements we have today to all the pioneers and the great leadership led by Mr. Lee and his team. We kept to his word n progressed year by year, overcoming setbacks and working as one people. Thus, today is really a memorable day for all fellow Singaporeans! So glad to be able to watch the parade live at the Padang later! I love u Singapore!

Reunited

I was so so happy yesterday after I ended my 2D arts expression course, not because the course was boring, in fact it is the only course that is stress free even with its assessment component. Yeah, time really flies when you are enjoying and the one and a half day course was a breeze! The trainer, Mr. Foo was very approachable n he made the sessions enjoyable. Anyway, I was really happy because I bumped into Nasrin when I was in the lift! Nas n I were best buds during our telemarketer days when we both worked at Incall systems eons back, I worked there during the break while awaiting to enrol in university. I worked there for close to a year! Anyway not sure how we lost contact, prob Facebook was not that popular back then n I probably lost her contact number along the way. So I m so glad to be reunited with her after so long. After we both stepped out of the lift, I took up my courage to approach her n ask: are u Nasrin? It was quite a tensed moment for me cuz I was afraid that she would say that I mistaken her for someone else. However I was pretty sure I m right because she gave me a few glances while we were both in the lift that was filled with pple. True enough, it's really Nas! We were both so excited that we hugged each other on the spot, probably blocking pple who wants to walk past us. She told me that she was at social services institute to attend a course as well. Haha. She is really happy that I remembered her name, though she can't remember mine, at least she remembered me, as a person. Thus, I m thankful enough for that. Many years passed, n I m glad that we r both working in the same sector, social services sector, doing our best to help others. It is interesting how our paths crossed after so long, and we are both working in the same sector. Lots of fond memories flood back into my mind as I think of those days, we went movies, had meals, I think we even went to an arcade in choa chu kang as she stays there. I still remember that she does henna, n she even have her own book of designs. Yes, lots more memories to create! Shall catch up with her after her fasting period :) cheers to SSI for being the place of our reunity.

Great Singapore Sales 2015 Part 1

The magnificent Great Singapore Sales is Back! Here's a look at my bargains during the month of June...In case you are wondering, I got these separately over 3 occasions. 1 stop at a time.

First stop,  my favourite Japanese store: Uniqlo.

1) Light blue pleated cotton skirt ($19.90) original price is $29.90. $10 slash!
This is a basic skirt that every girl should have! Versatile piece that brings out the school girl in you.

2) Polka dotted pleated skirt ($19.90)
And as you know me, if I love a piece so much, I will try to get it in another color as well. Till date, I have 2 dresses and 2 cardigans in diff colors!
3) Women Chino Pants in Navy ($19.90) Original price $59.90
This is really a huge bargain and the best buy for me! I dun usually buy pants from uniqlo because of their petite sizes. So I was extremely happy when i can fit into this, albeit it being the largest size la.
Very good material and I have started wearing it to work. Colour doesnt run off too! Highly recommended.

4) Polka dotted long sleeve shirt ($19.90)
As I have a thing for polka dots, I fell in love with this one instantly. Its sleeves can be folded up for a casual look. Will I look stupid if i pair this with the polka dot pleated skirt?! Haha
Second stop was Mphosis, and I got this cute feather skirt from the Northpoint outlet *It has since closed down and is replaced with Osmose. That has made me kind of upset since I am a member of Mphosis.

What?! This flimsy piece cost $106 originally! I am extremely happy to get it at $9.90 only. Wahaha. Evil Grin. The downside of this piece: Can only dry clean. Hmm. Mayb I will only wash it after wearing it for a few times. Hahah

Notice that nice little cyan basket next to the skirt? That brings us to my third stop, H&M, my favourite store so far.
1) Cyan Basket Bag ($9.90)
I got this little one from the kids section at H&M! Well, you  must be thinking why I was there right! This is because I saw it lying in a pile of clothes at the adults section and I was searching high and low for it but could not find it anywhere in the adults section. Then I finally saw it at the kids section! This is a gem because I love cyan as it is close to mint, and I love basket bags/straw bags or a combi of both. Even though there's no zip or anything and it isnt secure, I guess it looks really cute and is a head turner when you pair it with a sundress!

2) Watermelon Print Scarf ($9.90)
I am a watermelon fanatic. I love all things watermelonish. Only red watermelons though. Not those yellow ones. Can pair this easily with a plain top for the extra oomph.

3) Quirky Crop Top ($14.90)
This top is really cute with interesting prints. Got this in L even though I can fit M loh. This is because it is slightly cropped and I dun wanna reveal too much of my flabby tummy. Haha. Hence got it one size bigger.
                                  Yes, my obsession with watermelon!

4) Bohemian Top ($24.90)
This top is slightly pricey and I kinda regret a little now I look at it, but I think it will look good with shorts and a straw hat. Perfect outfit for a trip to the zoo. Oh yes, not to miss out a pair of sunnies too.
Size 38. Well, I am not size 42 ok! So dun keep on saying I fat!
5) Floral Skater Dress ($19.90)
I love florals as much as I love visiting Gardens By the Bay. Ok lame. Worn this to work and colleague said it is too sexy. Strange.

Alright that sums up the bargains that I got in June! Will upload another post if I bought more stuff before GSS ends.

Trigger Finger

My trigger finger is back to haunt me again, sigh* I guess I must have been using my left hand to grip too much things. I had it close to a year ago, when I couldn't straighten the middle finger of my left hand. It was locked in a 90 degree position, bent. I had to use my right hand to straighten it. Back then I went to see the doc n he prescribed me with anti inflammatory medicine. Took them n gradually it subsided. However it didn't fully recover because after that whenever I bend my finger, I can hear the clicking sound. As it didn't affect my daily life, I didn't bother about it. Now it's back to haunt me again. I think it is really time to heed the doc's advice, to get a steroid jab. My mom got that too n she went for the injection a while back. I did not dare to do it because I can't imagine imjections into my bone. Freaking me out esp when it's on the finger. How now brown cow?

Till Date

I have done 56 cases till date since I started work in the nursing home last April Fools'. That's an amazing feat I must say, from knowing nothing, to slowly picking up the ropes. Still make mistakes along the way but I learn something new each time. Thankful for the opportunities. Blessed to be working in such a wonderful place with friendly colleagues. Not just colleagues, but friends.

Lost my phone on the 29th May and it has been a while but I havent gotten any news of it yet. Currently using a spare phone. No whatsapp as I have already deactivated it. The phone I have lost isnt expensive, as it cost only $98 with my mobile plan, but it's the data and the content inside that are priceless. My phone contacts, my apps, my pics. I had to go to the extent of deactivating my apps, calling up banks and making a police report. To the person who took my phone but is reading this, remember the word "karma". Hope that you can return my phone as soon as possible if you still happen to have that little bit of conscience. As I always believe in this saying; Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Happy Belated Mothers' Day

We finally celebrated mothers' day last night by having a family dinner at the newly opened Nakhon's kitchen at Yishun. Before that, mom had her first facial experience at Suhava Beauty! My idea as a gift for her. $120 bucks for 1 hour 15 mins inclusive of an anti aging facial and an eye massage. The products used are from the brand Babor. I think French? You can easily Google that online. I decided to give mom a facial because I know she wouldn't spend that kind of money even though she can afford it. For her to always hear of others' facial experience, I guess deep down she's a little curious about it. So, we decided to satisfy this need ! Time to pamper the super woman who brought up 6 children during those hard times. Not that she did that single handedly. My dad was around. But of course, mom's still went through a lot given that she wasn't educated, there wasn't support from her family as we are all females; they favored males. To be able to raise as up into who we are today, she deserves credit. Thus, a pampering session is much needed. So I sat through the facial with her because I was her translator. The facial lady was Indian and speaks no mandarin. Even before the session started, I told the lady that it was mom's first time. So be more gentle. So this gentle reminder worked and my mom was so relaxed throughout. She even snored for a while. Haha. When I asked her why didn't she go into deep sleep, she told me that she dun want the facial lady to feel disturbed by her snoring sounds. That's really considerate of her even though we were the only ones in the shop. There was also a really cute moment when I saw mom touching her face slightly after the soft mask was slowly peeled from her face. I was sitting behind her and she was oblivious to my presence. It was like she was anticipating a positive change in her face. Is my face smoother now? That simple act communicates that message. I am fortunate to be able to witness that and it actually made me smile. I guess the money's really well spent even though it isn't cheap. Mom says she would go again if she strikes 4D. Haha. No need wait so long la, next time I get bonus then treat u la. These are the simple things in life that brings joy to our lives. Treasure love ones around u, carpe diem.
These are pics taken during last week's pre celebration. Eldest sis bought a yam cake from crystal jade. Second sis bought carnations.

Bugis Street Finds

Added some "fruitiness" to my current earring stash. Got them for 2 bucks each from a small store at bugis street. They actually haf this in watermelon design too but sadly it looks too fake.  Nonetheless the apple core and the orange slice made up for it. Also purchased a pair of Rad Russel flats from BHG. Hope they are comfy. They used to be 90 bucks n now they are reduced to 59 bucks. Hopefully they are better than the previous aerosoles I had which cost me $100 n nearly made me trip 2 times. Dumped them a while ago because the sole is no good. The week has been pretty good so far, how's yours?

Quantum Gazing

Today I was startled when President Low talked to me during the meeting, asking me how it was for me during quantum gazing session last Saturday. As usual, I didn't feel anything, I replied. Despite that, I still believe in it. I'm fact during the gazing, I can really feel the peacefulness that Connie was exuding. She had the classic smile. I smiled back at her. That's all. This time around, I brought my sisters with me, 3 of them, 2 new to the session, while 1 has attended it once. At the end of the session , there was a sharing session and one woman voiced out. Her voice was trembling and she was almost crying. It was her first time there and she could not explain her sadness felt during the session. Suddenly she just felt extremely sad n had the urge to cry. It was really strange for me, because all along I didn't experience much despite this being my 3rd gazing. Yes, some of my wishes came true, but some did not. However I still believe in it. Anyway, so after that, I asked my sisters whether they experienced anything. The newbies said they felt a little sadness, unexplained. But 1 saw a beam of light. Then I was like: y didn't u all share yr experiences! It's just like what the woman who voiced out said! Needless to say, I am so intrigued, even till this very moment. I hope I can feel what they feel during the next session 2 months later. Thanks Connie Shaw for volunteering to do this for us, deeply appreciative.

Love from Colleague

Today my colleague surprised me by measuring my waist line! Haha. She was on the Perth trip with me as well and she saw that I wore pullovers daily. So she said she wanna make me a knitted vest! Super touched! That would be my first handmade knitwear. Happy :) thanks ah Constance!

Quincy Hotel Staycation 04 Oct 14 to 05 Oct 14

Here's a really backdated post to share with you guys! In fact, I am almost 7 months late, hmm, forgive me because this is really such a long post that needs much research and editing to be done! The first draft was done in November 2014 actually..!

Recently, *Ahem, ok maybe not so recent, I just went for my second staycation! Remember my first staycation at BIG Hotel? This time around, it is even better than the first, because a lot of things were free! Plus, I was entitled to lots of free activities. Ok, the "auntie" radar in me has just got activated. Haha. If you like freebies as much as I do, plus you wish that you can stretch your dollar to the max, choosing The Quincy Hotel as your staycation venue is the most ideal choice ever. Mind you, staycations are the the latest fab nowadays as we noticed more Singaporean couples during this period of our stay.

So, the two lovebirds decided to indulge in the Qool Weekend package ($379) for our 3rd year anniversary celebration. This package includes the following:

- One night stay at The Quincy Hotel's Studio Room (twin-sharing)
- Buffet breakfast for 2
- All-day light refreshments by Dean & DeLuca and Modesto's
- Evening cocktails
- One bottle of red wine
- Complimentary in-room mini-bar
- Free entry to The Butter Factory for 1+1 (Each hotel guest can bring in one other friend into the club)
- Late check-out till 3pm (subject to availability)
- Local calls
- Unlimited Wi-Fi access
If you are there on a Saturday, you are entitled to couple art jamming class (3-4pm) and movie night by the pool. If you are there on a Sunday, you can get your hands on for some cup cake baking (3-4pm) whereby you can savour your own creations. We were there on a Saturday, so we tried the couple art jamming, which turned out disatrous. Haha

Okay, I am sure I have talked enough, here comes peektures!
Here's our studio room king size bed, the room is pretty spacious and I love the view that I get.
The view we get. Not breathtaking, but interesting.
Magazine we found on the table.

This is a better representation of the bed. It is humongous! The bedsheets were properly laid out and tucked, but I always leap onto the bed whenever I enter the hotel room. It's almost the very first thing that I always look out for! Hence, the crumpled bedsheets! Haha

You can lie by the windows and admire the scenery too! A little complain, the curtains are really dusty!
A classic example of how you can relax by this corner. This photo was taken at night.
See through curtains for the extra excitement (if you get what I mean.)
If you are shy and you want the extra privacy, you can always bring down the blinds (automated with a switch)
The envelope you will see on the table when you enter the room.
Oh, so it's a welcome letter! I like the fact that it is personalised n reading this letter does makes me feel warmly received by the staff. We were being served at the concierge by Mark (in the pic) and he promptly brought us to the lift, even showing us how to use the lift (tapping the access card before pressing the button). He smiled brightly at us and that instantly made me a happier customer that day. It's psychological you know.
Multiple electric points, especially handy if you are here to do work and you have plenty of electronic gadgets. Sadly, Breadman was there to do work and I was neglected for a couple of hours. Hmph. But ok la, during the first staycation, I did work, then second one, his turn to do work. Let's hope we have no work to do for our third staycation.
Telephone and table lamp. Quincy is also sensitive enough to provide note pads for you to jot down stuff when you need to. The table lamp was faulty though. There were two table lamps but only one was working. We didnt alert the staff cuz we do not really need it. Well, one thing I m surprised to find was absent in the room was the lack of religious materials! Usually hotel rooms are equipped with Bibles, Quran etc. This one doesnt have. Or probably, I missed it out?
This is the complimentary mini bar, it's free! I repeat, everything is FREE in here. Twinkle in my eye! Ahem, Breadman, you know what to do ah, bring back these goodies!
This is free also! Tee Hee. For your info, we gobbled the potato chips and the home favourites' orange cookies. They were extremely tasty. Well, it cant help that we didnt have lunch then.
Complimentary bottle of wine. I guess this is to heat things up for couples who are going for the staycation. For your information, we didnt drink it and Breadman brought it back home for his Mom.
Ok, off to the bathroom to check things out!
Bathrobes, iron, laundry bags. All in place.
Molton Brown bath amenities! This is what all bloggers rave about. I havent tried this brand  before, so I am unsure of how it fares.
See through glass door. Turns up the heat factor, especially for couples.
In case that see through glass door isnt enough, you can lie comfortably on the bed, while admiring your partner while he/she is in the shower. Of course make sure you get your partner's consent first! For the less adventurous, there's a switch for you to turn the blinds on. But our advice for couples is, dun do that! Haha.
Our first selfie of the day! My humongous arms steal the limelight in this photo. Eeks... Anyway, I have a penchant for monochrome series. Probably, it captures beauty at its most natural state. My hair was unruly during that time as it was neither short nor long.
In case you are wondering, what gift did I prepare for Breadman? I actually painstakingly made this photo scrapbook about our journey so far, how we started till to date... I took 3 nights to finish ok! I had to print out photos using the canon selphy printer Breadman gave me during my birthday this year, then i had to organize each of them in chronological order. For those without dates, I have to cross check with my blog posts here. No simple task leh. So someone better appreciate the lengths I go to in order to prepare this gift for u. Why this gift? It's because Breadman has a poor memory, he cant remember stuff and that usually makes me upset, especially for special days and occasions. So I hope this book can come in handy next time. Also, it's gonna be handy when  we grow old together and we will pass it on to our kids, for them to admire our love. Wahaha. Well said indeed.
My famous drawing of Breadman and the not-so-nice almond cookies. So much at winning his heart by targeting his stomach first.
The tiramisu cake I made for Breadman, which cousin loved it as well! I made this twice, before I made the actual thing. I was adventurous enough to add Loaker's wafer biscuits into my cake because I wanted the crunch factor. But I didnt expect it to turn soggy! This is an example of a smart alec.
This is my more recent Hair for Hope 2014 on 1 July 2014. I remember this day clearly because I was both apprehensive and excited about the haircut and I also felt that Breadman look especially handsome in the white shirt. I love crisp white shirts!
There there... this journey continues. My handwriting nice right? Cursive somemore.
Breadman looking through the scrapbook intently. Let's hope this somehow brings back memories of our old days. These days I have been less hard on him, because I understand that he is too drained from work. It doesnt make sense if I keep on challenging him to remember past events. However, that said, some memories ought to be remembered.

After lazing around a while, it's time for art jamming! Bear in mind that Breadman didnt spend much time with me during these couple of hours. I was seeking my own entertainment. Poor me :(
Art Jamming takes place at the same level as the gym and the pool. The area isnt too big. Participants need to register before hand as slots are limited. When we first stepped into the area, I was astounded! Whoa. Look at all these paintings. Are you telling me that these came from unskilled painters/non-artists? I dun think so.
Oh dear. My stress level going up. What if ours is the ugliest! Mind you, I dun paint much, what I do best at is doddling using pens. I can show u my notebook of doodles.
Tubes of acrylic paint and easel stands were available for each couple. Materials are sufficient, well laid out. Ok, let's hope ours will turn out fine! We had no idea of what to draw and there were too many people browsing through the books for inspiration. Ah, why not draw my fav character, Domokun?
This was ours! Very cute right? Unfortunately, I didnt get the proportions right. My domo is too small and the white fellow was positioned too high up. In the end we have too much space at the bottom. Well, that's how non artists draw, dun they? A true reflection.
I painted domo while breadman painted the other one. Though this was supposedly a joint effort, we had difficulty working out, cooperating. Very hard to work with the self-centred breadman leh. He even criticized me when I made a small mistake by writing the wrong date :( So nasty of him.His exact words : You ruined my painting. Nasty right? It's not your painting, but our painting. I cant figure out why other couples can do this while laughing, joking whereas we were so tensed up and I had to keep on asking him if I can paint this area or that area. I mean it isnt supposed to be a stressful activity. It's meant to evoke fun.
That's the error I made. Should be October instead of September... Such a teeny meeny error which Breadman had to comment on. That instant he commented and gave me an irritated face, I could feel my blood boiling. Haha. That's why, we need to work together more lest that we have more such quarrels in the future.
Tried to resolve the mistake by painting over it. Because of this, we quarelled and it wasnt pleasant. Verdict: we cant cooperate well. One party must compromise.
I was quite unwilling to take this shot when the staff asked me to, because I didnt enjoy this art jamming session. We both need to work on this issue a whole lot more, at least towards cooperation.

After that it is almost time for dinner. We went downstairs to have dinner (all inclusive under Dean and Deluca's). Dinner wasnt fantastic but at least it filled our stomachs.
Dinner comprises of pasta, fried rice, fish and prawns. Served buffet style.
Here's my cocktail. Totally free! Hee

Complimentary Tiramisu cake that was our surprise gift from the Quincy folks! That's really a nice gesture :)

After dinner, we took some shots at the lobby, while sitting in this cocoon chair. I think I would love to have this at home someday.
These shimmering art pieces were placed next to the toilet. I really like them because it  made me look at them before entering the toilet. Efforts at integrating artwork into your life..

After that, we went to Paragon to shop around and to get our bath bomb at Lush. We were lucky to chance upon some gigantic structures made of cardboard! I cant remember which shop was it advertising for, Prada? Not so sure. Anyway, it's playful yet it captures your attention. Lots of passerby cant help but to stop for a picture with these.

                                                   Rabbit!
Trojan Horse. Can you see the little men hiding in the horse?
Mission Accomplished. We bought a foam ball instead of a bath bomb because the latter does not produce any foam and it dissolves rather quickly.
But before we hit the showers, it is time to shed some kilos at the 24 hr gym that's located at the same level as the pool and art gymming area. Actually, Quincy does have some space constraints but it is skilful enough to be able to fully utilise its available space. Art jamming, movies by the pool, gymming; they are all done at the same level. All thanks to the gym at Quincy, I have developed an interest in gymming! Why? Quincy has a stairmaster/cross walker that I can work on for hours. Besides that, there are 3 threadmills, a gym ball and some dumb bells. We went there close to 11pm and we were the only 2 people in there. That made me happier because I value privacy when in a gym. Haha. So after an hour or so spent at the gym, it's time to head back to the room for some cozying time!

Here's how the bath tub looks like after the foam ball was ended in! Let's have some foamy fun!
Somebody just looks too relaxed with the remote on hand, while lying down on the bed in Quincy's bathrobe
That marks the end of day 1. We didnt have much time on Day 2 and it's a time chasing game again.
Day 2 started off with buffet breakfast that was inclusive in our stay.
                                         Breadman tucking into his food.

                                         I simply love croissants!
This yoghurt is good too! I can have seconds.
Scrambled eggs and hashbrowns. Nothing can go wrong with this combination.
Looking all freshened up after a good night of rest! My hair's all long now, nothing like this in the photo after 10 months since Hair for Hope 2014. I have been contemplating whether to go for it a second time around both for charity and vanity. Why vanity? Shaving the head makes the new hair grow better and the roots are stronger!
Here's a photo of us before we depart for our complimentary Funvee Island Hopper ride!
On board the Funvee. First time going for such rides, it's a first for Breadman too. I  love being a tourist in Singapore.

My face is humongous in this one! I need Bio Essence Face Lifting Cream please.

                                   Some views from the Funvee.

Time to alight! Beaming with smiles.

After the Funvee ride which took around an hour or so, we went back to hotel, hoping to have some lunch. Sadly, there's no proper food provided by Dean and Deluca apart from muffins and cakes. So that was what we had.
Softserve Ice-cream
That marks the end of our 2D1N stay at Quincy Hotel. It was as good as it lasted (minus our mini tiff during art jamming) and I encourage all couples to go for it if you havent! Lotsa freebies to take and activities to take part! You can try out cupcake baking session and share with me how it is? This is our 2nd staycation, but it will definitely not be the last!
