Good Things Must Share: Bio Essence Face Lifting Cream with ATP and Royal Jelly

If you know me well, I have always been an advocate of all of Bio Essence's products! To date, I have tried its hydra energy sleeping mask, royal jelly deep nourishing toner, royal jelly deep nourishing cleanser, bird nest whitening series, pine pollen face lifting cream, face lifting cream with ATP and the latest improved version, the face lifting cream with both ATP and royal jelly. I havent switched to any other facial products ever since I started using Bio Essence products! Amongst all, my favourite product is the face lifting cream, as you can see that I have been loyal to it through all these years, from the initial pine pollen one to the most recent royal jelly one. So why am I such a die hard fan of this bottle of face lifting cream which is priced at a hefty price of $45? (ps, i got mine recently at a watsons promotion for $37.40). So here are the reasons why I am such an addict to this:

1) It removes water retention and instantly lifts your face! Eh not instantly perhaps, but after 10 mins? There is this small paper measuring tape enclosed within the packaging, measure your face before and after and you can see the diff! I did and I was amazed.
2) It makes my double chin less visible.
3) I love the minty after feel on my face.
4) It is non greasy and acts as a suitable moisturizer for me.
5) It shapes my face and makes it less puffy.

Although I have yet to achieve the V shaped face as stated by Vivien Hsu, the spokesperson for this cream, I believe it has done an incredible job so far. Plus one tub is 40g, can last me for around 2 months? Worth investing, ladies. And this product is featured on ladyfirstsg (女人我最大新加坡版) by professional Taiwanese makeup artist Kevin, so that's enough endorsement. Get your haul at a local drugstore today! Available at Watsons, Guardian and some NTUC supermarts.

Menya Musashi

Been busy these days editing and managing an online store. So far I have sold 3 items ever since I started it 3 weeks ago. Averaged out, an item per week. Good enough for a newbie like me. Hardly have the time to blog, so here are some back dated entries. Really long ago! Nonetheless, a food blogger wannabe like me has to try to keep up!

Met up with the cousin few months back and it was pretty enjoyable as I havent seen her for quite a while. Lunch was at Menya Musashi, a place well known for its free upsize of noodles up to 5x without any additional costs! I wanted to try that, but it is only for the porky ramen :(

I like the samurai warrior theme chosen for the layout of the interior. This place is highly raved for their white signature tonkatsu broth, which is said to be flavorsome as it's made from pork bones.

A cup of houji ($1) as an accompanying beverage. Drinking tea seems like a mandatory act in Japanese restaurants, or is that just my habit?

Chashu ramen set ($14.90) comes with a selection of set dishes and curry ika was our choice! This wasnt exactly the name of the set, but I forgot its name :( It comes with one slice of cha shu, a runny egg and a piece of seaweed. The ramen itself gave no surprises, but what was worth commending was the broth! This wasnt too salty as the one I had at Aoba Ramen years back, it wasnt too ordinary like the one from Ajisen Ramen, the taste was just nice. The broth was power ok! I am not a fan of pork and usually steer clear of it as much as I can, but if you can prepare it in such a way that rids it of its porky smell, then I wont mind eating it.
Curry ika, also known as curry squid is on the average side. Nothing memorable about this dish. The taste of curry wasnt too distinct, hence not much plus points for this one.

As cousin took this shot of me, some rowdy snobs from Hwa Chong Istitution, who were seated next to us mumbled this in disapproval "everything also want to take photo, just like that Xiaxue." Well this remark was certainly uncalled for and that pissed cousin off and she gave the fellow the deadly stare. Haha.. I was kind of offended but I wouldnt be bothered. Why let a few snobs affect our dining experience? We shouldnt argue with these kids la. We should feel flattered to be even compared with Xiaxue, the pioneer of blogosphere. No wonder the liner goes : those with high IQ has no EQ. So no pics of cousin because of this remark.

Cousin had the akiba curry ramen ($14.90), which is curry ramen with fried chicken pieces. This was just too salty! Go low on the salt, chef. Your kidney is crying. I might go back to this place just for the white based ramen, nothing else.
End off with this collage of us. Nice edits right? I gave cousin free blush and eyeshadow in this pic, while lip tint for myself :) Haha.. the wonders of photo editing.. In case you are wondering, I use an online photo editor called picmonkey!

Happy 48th birthday, Singapore!

Happy birthday, Singapore! I can't express how much I love you! As much as how others are complaining about you, threatening to migrate to other countries, you know you have one patriotic citizen here. I am appreciative of everything I have here in Singapore, there is nothing to complain about :)
Have a good national day everyone! Watching the national day parade now, on television, waiting for my favorite fireworks segment!

Make Up Remover

Although I have no issues with my current make up remover: bifesta water based remover, which is also the first water based remover in Japan, I just realize that I CAN'T use it anymore! Why? Because my current laneige sunblock is water proof! That means the water based remover can't remove the sunblock at all and this can lead to clogged pores and breakouts. Now, it's time to get an oil based remover. Hmmm....

Addams Family Musical Resorts World Sentosa

Bought tickets for the Addams Family musical night session, which was screened at the Festive Grand Theatre of Resorts World Sentosa because they were at a 40 % discounted rate! I am a cheapopopo, do you know that? Haha...Price is indeed an enticing factor, but the content of the musical too! I watched a few episodes of the Addams Family when I was a primary school kid back then. The drama series were aired on channel five during late weekday nights and I remembered having to stay up late to watch them. Oh yes! I remember watching Tales of the Creep (or is it creek? hmm) during that time too. The talking skeleton never fails to amuse me. I like the Addams Family because they are a quirky family who do things really differently from the typical American family. Anyway, the musical aside, here's a peek at our dinner first! I always love to blog about food because I am a foodie at heart :)

Sauteed fresh seasonal vegetables. I ordered xiao bai cai (pak choy) ($16), but was a little dismayed when I saw that there was no garlic with my vegetables. This was a really healthy version though, not oily at all. This  was served with a dish of oyster sauce. Taste wise, it is really juicy and crunchy. But no surprises. I think I can do this myself.
Spicy and sour seafood soup ($10) consists of scallops and prawns! It is topped with chopped spring onion and a spoonful of chili oil. 10 bucks for the generous amounts of seafood, thumbs up for this. I tried one mouth, wa, fiery hot ok!

Seabass with cordyceps flower ($16) was beautifully done. Moisture was retained in the fish which soaked up the lightly sweet soy sauce. This is really good in my opinion. I like the crunchy black fungus, the long streaks of cordyceps flowers, ginger slices and most importantly the cod-fish alike seabass. The soy sauce was so good that I drizzled some onto my white rice. Wa, now when I looked back, the vegetables and fish cost the same price! Given a choice, I would have eaten two portions of the fish. Yums.

Breadman sipping his tea, ju-pu tea, which is a mix of chrysanthemum and pu er tea. Tea is priced at $2 per pax. He looks kind of weird in checks.. because checks are associated with a funkier personality, which this serious old man is devoid of. Haha, maybe a smile will make him less serious looking.
I wore my new forever 21 mint green lace dress for the date. My newly trimmed fringe, courtesy of myself.
Black and white. I love this photograph somehow.

Now back to the musical. It was fantabulous! Marvellous. Yet not breathtaking. Broadwayworld rated this musical as insanely funny, which I beg to differ! Haha.. It wasnt really funny funny. It was okay funny. Hence, I wasnt sure why this girl seated next to me can laugh at almost every line the cast said. Anyway, to summarize the musical in one liner, it's about the daughter of the Addams Family, Wednesday Adams, falling in love with a normal boy from a respectable family and creating a ruckus during the dinner when the two families meet up.My favourite character is Pugsley Addams, Wednesday's pudgy little brother who feels sad when her sister has gotten a boyfriend because that means that she will not be spending much time torturing him anymore. Yes, the family hunts and eat birds, and they enjoy torturing each other. Each family member is characteristic. Even the butler leaves an impression on me because he doesnt talk. Instead, he makes noises.
I love the voice of Wednesday (jennifer fogarty) the most because she can reach the highest tones and her voice is really clear. No traces of hoarseness after singing for weeks consecutively. Nice clean voice.

Autograph and photography session for those who purchased the program booklet.
Morticia Addams is really really tall! Her deep v dress cuts to Venezuela. Haha.. This liner I remembered being muttered by her husband Gomez Addams.
In short, this musical is worth every cent! Though the seats were category 3 center seats, the cast was still a little far to me. Hmmm. Next time must take that into consideration.

Vadeh, Not!

There is one fried snack that I cannot resist a long time ago. That is the savoury Hum Chee Peng, which you can easily find in coffee shops, food stalls and even from the shop Dough Culture in shopping malls. So just last week, I tried my hand at making these tasty snacks (even though I cannot eat them, can smell right? ) according to an online recipe , but it turned out to be a flop! The dough was very much too goey... however the taste was alright surprisingly! I will not post up the recipe just yet because I will try making them a second time around and will make the necessary adjustments to the proportions of ingredients.

You cant see the swirls of five spiced powder in the uncooked hum chee pengs because the dough was a tad gooey. Never mind, next time will be a success!
Looks like the Indian snack Vadeh, which you find in pasar malam right? Haha... chey. These are my cute hum chee pengs. My style. Heh.
