I am not a huge fan of harry potter. In fact, I havent read any of JK Rowling's books. Yet, I have watched every single harry potter movie. I do not like harry potter, I think he's too full of himself. So why am I visiting the exhibition? The main reason is my love for hermoine. Who says beauty and brains cant go together? Emma Watson has it all. She's the witty kid in and out of movies. So here I am, with two main objectives in mind before I set off for the exhibition.
Agenda for exhibition: 1) Pull mandrakes for as many times till I am happy 2) buy chocolate frog or every flavour jelly bean
Fulfilled both objectives in an hour's time. Verdict: An average exhibition. I expected more interactive corners and I thought I could see moaning martha, Sir headless nick, cousin dudley etc. A pity was no photography was allowed, though I can see some stubborn mules shooting away. Should shine the spotlight at them and ridicule them! You there, no shooting! Dun understand English? Shall I translate? Hahah... It would be good if they allowed photography with no flash, if they are afraid that there will be damage to the artefacts. Eh, but they arent paintings right? What's with the damage? These were the only photos that were allowed.
The Weasley's flying ford anglia.
The mandrakes werent as fun as I imagined them to be... too plasticky! I thought they would be made from furry soft toy material... and yes, do they squeal! Pulled for 3 times before I quickly get bored of them..
I expected the fat lady to respond to me when I looked at her, perhaps starts singing when she senses eye contact, but she didnt. I guess I have too high expectations! If I were a kid, such an exhibition would haf wowed me, and I'll be immersed in the magical world of harry potter.
The quidditch section pissed me off because a family was hogging on to the quaffles! The family of 4 or 5 was continuously shooting the quaffles for like 10, 15 mins, oblivious to the menacing stares from others (including me!) Perhaps I am too old for it, but I just wanna shoot it once and to hear the *clink* sound when the quaffle enters the hoop! I managed to feel the material of the quaffle though... rugby ball material. There should be a station master, limiting each patron to 2 shoots per person. Otherwise angry people like me will get grumpy! Managed to sit in Hagrid's chair luckily and it's big! It can fit two people of my size.
Finally, to the exhibition shop! As I wanted to get this paper bag, I had to buy stuff! Oh my, were the stuff in there of exorbitant prices.
Made in USA! Cool or what... I dun own any items from USA if I recall correctly... This gotta be a keepsake.
Bertie Bott's every flavour bean (not ever flavour!) and Chocolate frog! 6 bucks each...
Green jelly bean, grass flavour! My favourite is the watermelon one while sausage and vomit flavours almost make me puke! Vomit tasted like garlic and it's yucky to haf a garlic sweet. Earthworm and booger tasted like ginseng! And surprisingly, earwax tasted nice... hahah lemon taste! I didnt have every flavour listed at the back though.. didnt haf blueberry, cinnamon, green apple, marshmallow, all the nice ones. Did have all the disgusting flavours though!
Chocolate frog on hand!
Eat it before it leaps off!
It's just milk chocolate with rice crispies, very much like cadbury milk chocolate, but it managed to steal my heart away just by being in that shape! I love frogs : )
Enclosed within the packet of chocolate frog.
Albus Dumbledore! Eh, but I prefer Hermoine or Ron....
And I realised that Albus Dumbledore loves chamber music and tenpin bowling from this card. I dun recall that being mentioned in the movie, perhaps in the book I guess.
My third time visiting Art Science Museum ever since its first opening. First exhibition was Dali's, next was Titanic and now it's Harry Potter. So far, I enjoyed Dali's the most, I love his moustache! And maybe because photography was allowed back then, I like to capture what I haf seen because my memory fails sometimes. That's why I collect movie stubs too.. recently I went back to look at the previous movies I have watched. And there were moments in which I find myself unable to recall the main plot of the movies I watched. I cant believe I watched Zhang Zi Yi's Memoirs of a Geisha and Christopher Lee's Kidnapper. It doesnt seem like something I would watch. Simply put, I like to jot down events of my life. That's why I blog even though I aint good at writing... my blog is just a detailed expression of my life events and sometimes while rereading what I have written in the past, I get bored too!

Pameran Poskad 2012
Went to Pameran Poskad 2012 (postcard exhibition) for the first time, even though it first set foot here back then in 2005. It isnt an annual event, as I expected, not a biannual event either. I believe the decision to host an exhibition is dependent on the extent of sponsorship given. When I reached viridian art gallery, I must say I was disappointed. The exhibition was super small scale! Looks like it could be finished in 5 to 10 minutes.
Art piece made of scrunchies... Neat.
Kid having fun on the swing near the art gallery. I gotta have one of this in my future house! That means no hdb flat... hahha..most swings are placed outdoors, on the greenery. It would be strange to have one indoors. Reading a book and swinging away on a breezy Sunday morning, while my loved one is preparing breakfast for me. Too dreamy...
The hungry cow trying to tempt me with this tuna sub. Looks delicious aint it? Alright, into the exhibition!
A myriad of postcards placed in transparent plastic bags..
I like this, but no way can I afford it. 150 bucks! And someone actually bought it... notice the orange sticker at the bottom right.
It was love at first sight! Milo Godzilla by Quek Teng Wan. Visited her web page today! Www.some-wan.com
Mine! 25 bucks. The down side is that I cant get my card immediately, which makes sense, because the event only ends on 15 Sep, if everyone were to get their cards, I believe the exhibition wouldnt be worth attending anymore. No one wants to go there to see empty walls. Another flip side is I am not sure whether my card is the only unique piece, or are there replicas. I like possession. It would be nice to have something that only me myself has it.
Other Quek Teng Wan pieces.
Teh Beng! It's kind of cute.
Another of her piece. Moonbucks vs Starbucks?
Spotted a familiar face... Lee Kuan Yew! The one at the background should be his wife.
Paper cuttings.
Another one that caught my eye. Perhaps because it's unconventional. Not cheap either. 220 bucks! I have an eye for expensive stuff indeed.. hahha
Pixelated. I am not sure whether the difference in shading is meant that way... I'll prefer it to be evenly shaded.
This, I cannot fully appreciate..
Side track a bit, my nude ballerina wedges that I received in the post days ago.... 25 bucks! Dainty look... Nude is the new black. Everything is nude, nude makeup, nude colour outfits. The au naturel look is in... be stingy with the foundation. Less is more! Let's go nude everybody! Pun intended. Haha

Know what Zilch means?
It means zero! Wow, I didn't know that... Till I watched a tv show last night. So act classy next time by saying zilch instead of zero. For a moment, I thought it's someone's name! Can name my kid zilch next time... Hahaha
