Sentosa exhibition of flowers

Sad :( gotta give it a miss this year... Not supposed to be out in the sun, if i want a speedy recovery. Mom went for it on wednesday and she said it was worth going. Been looking at the brochure that she brought back... so tempting! This year i suppose it's more majestic cuz it's the year of the dragon. She went with a bunch of "oldies" haha... between the age range of 60 to 75, my first, second and third aunt. Call me old, but I love to look at flowers. Haf a penchant for them. No specific reason, but I just like to look at the different varieties and flower species. The colourful blooms..... the smell of life! Speaking of flowers, brings back memories of a conversation I had with my preschool teacher. Here's what we said:
Me: Why is it that she (cousin) can get an A for a colouring while I only get a B, when we both colour it well? (nothing coloured beyond the outline)
Teacher: that's because u coloured the flower blue and she coloured it pink. There are no blue flowers.
Me: But i still colour the flower very well what..... (frowns)
Teacher ignored me....
Then I went home, adamant, and I told my mom what happened. The best thing that happened? Mom agreed witht the teacher totally! Chey! I shall bring a pot of blue hibiscus to show them next time.... There are blue flowers indeed! viola cornuta, forget-me-not (purplish blue) etc... Not all flowers are pink or red, although most of them are..   

Moral of the story: I remember such stuff well... so dun offend me or step on my tail! haha...

  

Surprise

V surprised me with this! The infamous black muah chee that's only available during cny... It's a pity that I couldnt eat any of it due to my throat inflammation. The price is a little ex though: 2.50 bucks. I should learn to make it myself, save costs. Since I couldnt haf a taste of it, decided to take a photo of it instead. Not much deviation from how it's supposed to look like huh? Perhaps a slight difference in colour, not that black.... I must definitely try it before the 15th of cny! Maybe mom might know how to make this. 

On cloud 9! Or on 7th cloud, as what someone special would say..... haha

Black Muah Chee

This is the first time I see muah chee in black! Correction, I havent seen it in real life, only read about it in newspaper and websites. The black muah chee is only available during Chinese New Year period and it is believed that it can attract the God of fortune to come! Haha... superstitions... but interesting. Its black colour is due to the addition of sesame seeds. The only place that sells this dish is located at Hougang 6 Mile. It's a pity that this dish is disappearing soon, because none of the children of the muah chee uncle is taking up the trade...I hope someone would take over the business. I wanna try this dish before it is gone!

Domestic violence

Watched the latest episode of in cold blood and the theme was on domestic violence. It was a case about a husband who turned violent whenever he was under the inflence of alcohol. What often intrigues me in abuse cases is why these victims still forgive and forget the pain that they haf gone thru, and manage to stay on with their abusers... The cycle of violence. The ending was a painful one, with the wife killing the husband in a moment of frenzy. She was certainly remoresful as the killing wasnt intentional. I believed she wanted to protect herself. It's kind of sad because she was being sentenced to 3 years imprisonment and having to face the fact that she killed her lover for the rest of her life. So, if you face an alcohol addiction problem, do seek help as soon as possible! And dun keep silent if u are a victim of abuse...

Been watching too many of these violence-themed shows lately.... dun let me dream of being a punching bag again! Haha.

Unwell....

Feeling really bad today.... I want to recover soon... not sure if i am up for the badminton session tmr :(
I hope all these little bumps down my throat will disappear soon.... Swallowing has been a chore these days. It's making food unappetizing. Sad!

Pharyngitis and Tonsilitis

Goodness gracious me! Fancy getting sick during the festive period.... Blame it on the chocolates I had during Xmas period... Had a tad too many of them... Now down with both tonsilitis and pharyngitis, otherwise known as pharyngotonsilitis... Inflammation of my tonsils and oropharynx. Miserable :( It's making swallowing difficult. Coupled with a congested nose, it makes things worse by multiples. There are 4 little bumps down my oropharynx and 1 bump on my tonsil. After googling, I realised that almost 80% of the cases are caused by viral infections... so this means that my antibiotics wont work! Can only wait for it to recover by itself...Gargling with salt water speeds up the recovery process though. I must be obedient this time around! Be good, Yanshuang. Been lectured by mom n dad again, the usual. My throat looks sth like this. Warning: The below image may cause some discomfort. I wanna recover soon!!!    

It's Mask Day!

Try the kose mask white if you havent... ironically, it's a mud mask in black and not white (termed mask white because of its whitening properties.) I love it because it can remove my black heads with ease! Got it as an Xmas gift from yanfen last xmas, putting it to good use :) Sister took a photo of me while I was using the mask... cant smile otherwise it will give wrinkles! Alert: The image below may give you a scare...hahah.. Smile!

   

It's a cold day

Yanshuang looks ridiculous with her new kiddish haircut, while being cladded in a grey grandma cardigan socks, with her neon green breathe right strip plastered on her nose, spotting a frown while working on her FYP paper...
