This and That

We are having a great week -Enjoying a few nights at home before soccer begins and Doug starts his out of town traveling. Actually, he has only been home one night this week though. He is speaking at a local church for Teen College. It's going really well and we are blessed that he can come and stay the nights at home! The boys have had a couple afternoons to swim before the pool is closed and are enjoying riding their bikes all around!

Meanwhile, Doug has been preparing for our camping trip!

Our family of four has never gone and this weekend we are meeting up with the Compton clan for an adventure!
And I have been getting things ready for a birthday!

Lane is turning five next week and we are having a Lego Bowling Party next weekend! (He told us what he wanted, so we are running with it!) I try to decorate the mantle with their birthday themes. Lane made the piece of Lego art on top for me! ;)

Tonight I went to our PTO meeting. I Didn't get involved last year, so going to try to jump in this year. And I also ordered our tickets for Tiger Tunes today!

It has been a long time since we have been back to Ouachita for it and this year we are taking the boys with us too! We are looking forward to seeing our niece in the show!
Well, that's a little bit of this and that. Hope you all have a great Labor Day weekend!

Roll On... Family Fun and Fellowship

Tonight was our last Home Group Fellowship for the summer. We have a lot of couples in our class (whom have lots of kiddos from high schoolers to one year olds) so we needed a large area to hold us all. I decided to book a skating rink earlier in the summer and I'm so glad I did. We had so much fun tonight! Brought back memories of days long, long ago!

It was Lane's first time to skate and he did really well! Lots of falls, but he got right back up and didn't want help.

Levi has been to several skating parties, but it still takes awhile to jog the memory when the 'ol skates get back on! He enjoyed hanging out with his friends and was a sport about falling down, too!

I on the other hand stayed close to the wall! It was a lot harder than I remembered! (More like a workout!) Doug seemed to take to it well - no falls for him! He would have to come assist me at times.

I enjoyed getting the time to fellowship with the family and friends God has blessed me with! Just hope these old bones aren't hurting too much in the morning! Time to roll onto a new week.....

Quiet Recap

Whew! It's been quite a week getting back in the swing of things. I'm glad to have a minute to sit down to recap it all. (And I'm also enjoying a quiet moment on the couch while all my guys are sleeping!)

The first days of school went well for both of the boys. I'm excited about all of the new adventures this next year holds! Thursday, Lane and I attended his open house. Not sure of how much information I actually heard with a room full of 3 and 4 year olds, but we survived!

Doug was out of town on Wednesday and Thursday. His fall schedule is off to a busy start - and just when we were getting used to having him around all the time!So on Thursday I organized a Back to School lunch for the ladies in our Sunday School Department. It was so nice to eat lunch with other adults! (Can't believe I didn't take one picture!) We are already looking forward to having another girls lunch out!
This morning Doug and Levi traveled to Jonesboro to run "Kids on The Mile". It was Levi's first race to run and he was so excited!

It was a Back to School Bash Fun Run. Levi did a great job and brought home a medal and tshirt! He said he his ready to run another race!

We signed both boys up for soccer today. They are very excited about playing. Can't believe this will be Levi's 5th year. Lane is beyond ready to get started. He's been asking for weeks who his coach is and when practice is going to be!
The boys enjoyed an afternoon of swimming and biking and Doug grilled some tasty burgers for supper. Now all is quiet on the home front and I think I'm just going to sit a while longer and enjoy it!
Many Blessings,
Amy

First Days!

It's a week of firsts for the boys this week! Started it off on Sunday when we had promotion day at church. Lane has left the nursery area (insert sad face here) and is proudly walking so big up the stairs now to join the older kids!

Levi is enjoying a new room and teacher but most of all his friends!

And then school was back in session on Monday! Levi started the 3rd grade! How can that even be possible? He has a wonderful teacher and lots of friends in his room. We look forward to a great year in there!

On Tuesday, Lane went back to PALS to begin his Pre-K year! I can't believe next year he will be in kindergarten!

This year he is in the green room and Miss Katie is his teacher!

Things are in full swing now! Better cherish each moment! These boys are growing up way too fast!

Final Fun

Well, they say all good things must come to an end. Unfortunately, our vacation and even our summer have done so.

We wrapped up our time on the beach doing a little shopping, going to the arcade and everything else we could squeeze in! The kids enjoyed hunting for hermit crabs. Grammy provided the lighted headgear - nice, huh?

Then (oh the joy) getting 10 family members together to dress in coordinating colors and attempt a picture on the beach at 8 in the morning is not the easiest of tasks. But I think we did pretty well. I'll post some of the pics when I get them! Meanwhile, I had a couple made with my cute boys!

We've played putt putt, read books, enjoyed technology a little too much and even accomplished the task of a 500 piece and even a 1000 piece puzzle! (To which I am not going to be the one to tear them apart. The others are too proud of their patience and diligence of completing them!)

Now bags are being packed, groceries being consumed (our diets can start tomorrow) and the real world lies just ahead. So thankful for this time of rest and a week with the family. I'm a blessed woman!

Happy, Happy, Happy

We are enjoying our time away at the beach this week! Today was rain free so we took full advantage!

A little pool time...

A little beach time....

And just hanging out at supper!

The Hang Out is home to the SEC Beachfest this weekend. (Some of my family members may or may not be attending! 😉) Woo Pig!

We are wrapping up our day by eating cookies and ice cream and anxiously awaiting the season premiere of Duck Dynasty!

And thus, we are all Happy, Happy, Happy!

My New Year

It's that time of year again! School begins in less than a week and routines quickly return as the fall approaches. I'm actually excited about the start of it all. This week is vacation for my family. It's our time to reflect on the roller coaster of a summer we have been on and take one last breath and relax before the craziness begins yet again.

In a way, next week starts my new year. It's a chance to start fresh and experience new things as well as looking forward to the repetition of things in the past.

My prayer is that God will guide and direct our paths as we embark on another "new year" of sorts. May we be willing to be used by Him as we seek to serve Him in all we do! These guys are growing up too fast and I don't want our family to miss an opportunity to serve and advance the Kingdom!
