Build Me a Cave, Mommy

This morning Michael wanted to build a cave out of the cushions on the couch. I couldn't deal with the mess, so we came up with a compromise. He brought me the pillows and blankets off of his bed and I made him a cave in the corner of our couch. It turned out pretty well and the clean-up will be minimal. I plan to just ball it up and throw it all on his bed. We'll straighten it out when it's time to go to sleep tonight.

My Talented Husband

Levi took these pictures the other day, and they just turned out so well that I had to show them off. Levi's not here or I would have him tell all about them. The computer wasn't working the other day when he tried to post them, and now it is, so I am doing it. He's amazing. What can I say? I'm a lucky girl.

A Tribute to the Mothers of the World

I would like to take a moment of every one's time and say how much I appreciate the amazing mothers in my life. First I would like to tell every one that my wife is the greatest mother to our son and son-to-be. She very loving, patient and kind. I think the most astounding attribute she has is her selflessness. She is constantly giving of herself.

Second, but not less important, is my wonderful mother. What can I say? If it wasn't for her I would not be the man I am today. She sacrificed her body so I could gain mine. She is a nurturer, teacher, counselor, supporter, friend, and most of all mother. I never cease to be amazed by her forgiving and compassionate nature.

And last, but certainly not least, the cutest mother-in-law a guy could ask for. Her caring and giving personality set her apart. She is fun-loving, happy-go-lucky, a bit of a girly-girl, and a friend to all.

To all of the other mothers I have had in my short 26 years of life (Katie, Mandy, Stacy, Grandma Lu, Betty, Grandma Mallory, Tiff, just to name a few) I owe you more than can be repaid. Thank you for being moms. I love you.

WE MISS ROCKY

Many of you are familiar with the boxer, Rocky, that our family had. We only had him for about 3 years, but he very quickly became a close part of our family. He latched onto Levi immediately, and followed him everywhere. He was already full grown and middle-aged for a boxer when we got him, so we never expected him to live a long time. About a week ago, Rocky wanted out in the middle of the night. This is not an unusual thing, so we just let him out. We haven't seen him since. Because no one else has seen him either, and he was prone to seizures, we believe that he went out and died. We had been expecting it, but it still makes us sad. It's especially hard when Michael and the other kids ask where Rocky is. So here are a few of our favorite pictures with Rocky.

Rocky was totally Levi's dog, and he thought he was a lap dog. Any time that Levi would go sit or lay on the floor Rocky was always right there to lay with or on him if he could manage it. Sometimes it was a race to see if Michael or Rocky would get there first.

Rocky was so good and patient with the kids, as this picture shows. My nephew Daxton thought of Rocky as his "Rocky-dog".
