Laughter

"The human race has one really effective weapon, and that is laughter."- Mark Twain

"Always laugh when you can. It is cheap medicine."-Lord Byron (by the way I don't know who this is but I like it)

I thought this was so adorable!! I had to share. I wish newspaper had that effect on me! It's amazing the humor this baby has. It's the best when you can laugh so hard you cry or milk comes out of your nose, in this baby's case fall over. Laughing really is the best medicine...Enjoy!

Culture night, visits, and haircuts

This is my beautiful prebirthday gift!! He is so funny, he just couldn't wait to give it to me, and I LOVE IT! Levi did a great job, and an even better job surprising me. I can be hard to surprise because I figure stuff out easily. It's a Vera Bradley purse and I really love the patterns on her purses and she came out with rugs which are awesome too, I'm waiting for her to come out with bedding. This purse is my favorite out of all of mine. Thanks Levi!

Next...we have a monster of a TV, well that's what it feels like and we LOVE it!! We used to watch TV off of the 12 inch that is our land lords and Levi was generously given an x box by his loving parents and it just so happened that our little TV wasn't up to date with technology so we had to buy a new TV.....darn. We knew we were going to get one soon anyways before we move into married housing. This xbox helped speed up the process so now we have a 32 in which does the job perfectly. We are very happy with it thanks Mike and Denise!

Last night Levi and I were looking forward to culture night at BYU. I'll explain the obvious, all the clubs at school have the opportunity to show a little background on their culture. So the first people come out, it was the Latino club, some couples came out and salsa danced but the next culture groups just danced to hip hop songs.... and we thought that was lame.. more like greatest hip hop hits of 2007. So we ended up leaving less than half way through because it wasn't entirely focused on their culture. There were a few that were good, like the Japanese club, they were awesome in there robes and kimonos. I liked the India club too they had cultural wardrobes and they danced, and the Australian Club was funny and did a good job.

Last of all Levi needs a hair cut.. living here in Hawaii I think has gotten to his head. Check his picture out, supposedly he isn't cutting it until his family comes in a few weeks. Today he said he wants to wait for his friends to see it when we come home our summer break. I don't think it will last much longer until honor code pulls him aside and makes him get a haircut, or until people at school refuse him service because of his poor grooming standard. He will continue to enjoy it while it lasts...

Fun Weekend!

From Friday until last night we have done nothing but spend our free time with Levi's parents, which was soooo awesome! We have so much fun with them, between Levi and Mike 5 minutes doesn't go by without either of them cracking a joke. The last four days went by fast, a little sad but IT'S OK they will be back, along with the rest of the Vogels! I can't wait!! We love visitors and we have a couple coming our way. Everyone, come while we have the space! We have 2 extra rooms, it would be way fun!!!

You thought your day was interesting?

We went to the temple tonight!
It was a little crazy at first because I worked until 5pm and Levi was working until 6ish. I was heading out of work a little late and I waited for Levi  until he said 'Hey how about you run home, get ready really quick, bring my temple bag and nice clothes and we will try to make the six o clock session'. So I said.."ok lets try to". So I rush home, by the way its like 5:30 by now, get changed get all his stuff, breathe, grab our temple bags and he calls..."Are you on your way?".. and I was just leaving the house. So I rush back, and on a side note I haven't even looked at my hair, which has been under a hat all day. Back to where I was...Rushing back to pick Levi up right off the street, he changes in the car and by this time ... it's 5:56 haha " ummmm maybe we won't make the session, we might have to do something else. BUT we get there figuring we missed it but we were going to do some other work there but hey we decided to take our temple bags in just in case we were wrong about the session times. AND we were, we made the 6:30 session! That was an accomplishment. That was our one hour of craziness but whatever we were happy we made it!

Starting a blog

We pretty much made this blog for family since we're sooooo far away! I know rough life in Hawaii . Now you can see what we're up to!

So this weekend started off with the BYUH Talent show. We were a little iffy on if it would be worth our time but it was free and something to do. We went and the talents were pretty funny. We were glad we went, definetely worth our time! Saturday morning we went to Hukilau Cafe.....when and if you come you have to go!!! The pancakes are amazing, Levi had blueberry and I had Macademia nut. Delicious! Then we headed to the swap meet....We wanted huge towels to take to the beach because we are sick of our teeny ones. We got towels and headed to one of the nicest beaches on Oahu, Kailua beach,  it was beautiful. I don't know why we didnt take any pictures but we will for sure next time. One of our new favorite beaches. After the beach we headed home. It was a great weekend. There is always something to do which is one of the reasons why we love being here. Anyways here are a few Pictures we have  for ya!
Sunset Beach
One Sunday Afternoon
This is at Sandys Beach. Levi and I were in the water and I watched sadly as a wave slammed him into the shore.....I was told it was painful. It was a little funny though because he had sand all over him. All up in his hair, you can see it all over him it was great.

This is a face you just can't forget. I thought his family should be reminded of how unique he is.... I thought this would be a nice picture to end on. I think there is something slightly wrong with him. :)
