Praise

Hey there bloggers! First thank you so much for praying for baby Tate! (see previous post)
Thank God his surgery went well and is doing better- please continue to pray
for him, the doctors and his family as he recovers! It is an amazing thing
when with just a few emails, FB status and blog posts we can unite and rally
behind a family that needs our prayers! I am grateful to know so many amazing
people that would step up an do for others. I am also grateful that God would allow
us to be a part of this familys life.
Last year at this time we were struggling ourselves-
waiting for a diagnosis for our oldest. That's what this
journal page is about. She was having seizures, had
a low white blood cell count, tics, etc. Many tests were done, many
specialists saw her and so many scarey things were speculated.
All the tests came back negative. And although
we did not have answers, we praised God
for what it wasn't as each result came in.
We praise Him when things are good- but we also need to
praise Him when things are bad.
Circumstance should not matter. He may not answer your
prayers the way you want, or in your timing, but He does answer prayer.
Today I thank Him for giving little Tate a miracle and for relieving all the
symptoms for my oldest. They never did figure it out what was causing all that
but we Praise God that she is doing much better now.
Thank you again for your prayers.

I hope this makes you want to count your blessings and go create something!

I need your help...
Wednesday, May 29, 2013
Hey there bloggers- a different kind of post today.
I am truly blessed to have worked with many youth - outside of the crafty world
IRL(in real life). Hubby and I have taught drama & music to countless youth.
Some stay in touch, some fall out of touch and come back into your life.
It is awesome when God is evident in their lives. That leads me to today.
This sweet babys name is Tate. And he needs your prayers! His precious mama
was one of my kids (yeah - they are all my kids, love them like my own)
from Las Vegas. She is all grown up now, married and Tate is baby number 2.
We were so excited to find out that she lives only 20 minutes
away from us with her beautiful family. But we need you to pray for baby Tate -
I copied the most recent update on his condition below posted by his mommy.
I could not have said it better myself. I am asking you to join us praying for Tate.
On 5/29/2013
Tate is still very sick. After much
deliberation, his team of doctors have decided that the best course of
action is to take him to the operating room tomorrow. His infection
seems to have reached a "plateau", and he is not responding to the
strong antibiotics like we want him to. They will be taking cultures
while they are in there and removing whatever it is that's infected,
hopefully. This surgery is extremely risky for several reasons.... Blood
loss due to too much scar tissue and weakened blood vessels from all
the swelling, having to remove segments of intestines, worsening
infection, etc. are all concerns. Something could very easily go wrong
and have catastrophic results. While we are very nervous for Tate, I am
strengthened and encouraged more than ever that God is not only in
control, He is GOOD. His arms are not too short. We are never out of His
sight or His hand. From the very beginning of our journey with Tate, I
knew that he had a call on his life and a purpose so much bigger than we
would know for a long time. I have no doubt that, as Romans 8:28 says,
God is working everything together for our benefit, and even though this
is far more difficult than I ever thought I could bear, He is our
Redeemer and our Healer. He goes before us in battle and He holds us up
when we have no more strength. He is so worthy of my praise and I can't
wait to see the amazing way He will bring the victory and healing to
Tate! Thank you so much to everyone who is praying and supporting us.
The next 24 hours are very critical for us, so I ask that you pass
Tate's story along to anyone and everyone you know who will pray and
call on God on our little guy's behalf.
I really appreciate your prayers!!

Blog Hop and giveaway!
Tuesday, May 28, 2013
Hey there bloggers!
The next 3 days CLEAR SCRAPS is doing a fun blog hop!
Today I prepared a little tutorial for ya!
Did you know that you can run your acrylic through your embossing machines?
I find it easier to remove the plastic film first.
You can use any paint on acrylic if you use a little gesso first.
I put some on randomly- if I planned to cover the entire
surface with paint I would cover the whole thing.
After the gesso is completly dry (it only takes a few minutes) I can paint
and you know I usually grab my Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos.
They grab really well to the gesso. On the back I added metallic alcohol inks,
they show through the areas not covered by the gesso and Gelatos.
It adds alot of depth- here is a close up...
(I used the same technique on the crown.)
Here are the inside pages...
I added a little tag on each page...
All the pretty papers are from the Dear Jane Stack from DCWV.
The album is a
DIYW Fancy Chipboard, it's 6.5 X6.5 from Clear Scraps.
Here is the back cover...
Each day is another prize given away so you wont want to miss it!
To participate each day will start at the Clear Scraps blog,
you will visit and comment on three additional DT. blogs.

MiXed MeDia leather...
Friday, May 24, 2013
Hey there bloggers it's miXed MeDia Friday!
I found these leather wristbands at the local craft store and wondered
how the Silks paints (I got them at
Artistcellar) would hold up with them.
Silks say they can be used on fabrics so I figured why not?
I painted some basic flowers and it seemed to hold up pretty well.
The iridescent colors are pretty but they need a little pop
so I got my Faber Castell PITT Artist pens.
Yep - much better. Sewed on a little plate(Blue Moon)
and gave it to baby girl.
She loves it; wears it everywhere! It has been through
sprinklers, playground sweat and even a few showers
when she forgot to take it off! It still looks great!
I think I may have to make one for me!

Mixed media- with stencils...
Friday, May 17, 2013
Hey bloggers today I am sharing a project that started as an experimentation!
and they have some prizes to give away on this weeks
blog hop so you will want to check it out!
I to play with the new Chris Cozen Stencils at Artistcellar!
I was just checking out the stencils at first, using Distress Inks. I put layer upon layer of the same color; lighty tapping on the color on the first layer, switching up and moving the stencils, then really loading up the sponge, using more ink as I overlapped the following layers. I was just playing, it was not my original intention to make anything but I thought it made for a great background, so I decided to work with it - I drew a girl...
A little gesso...
Some Gelato and PITT artist pen work and blending...
A chipboard title...
Eyelashes and more pods (with modeling paste this time.)

One of the things I love about having a big studio is
there is plenty of room for the the kids.
Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft did a
cross promo with Creativity For kids and we were
given a mask kit to do with the kids.
Everything is in the kit (except Gelatos) even the tarp!
It dried pretty quickly but we let it sit overnight.
The kids had to trim strings and sand down any rough spots before starting.
The kit comes with paints, glue, glue glitter, feathers and gems to dress up your mask.
We added Gelatos- the colors were primary colors.
Of course I had to make one too...
That was a big post and I still have a busy day ahead!!!
