LESSology Challenge #34: Creative inspiration of Lizzy Hill

Our last design team inspiration for LESSology Challenge #34: Laundry Day is from design team member Lizzy Hill. :)

Well, my friends. I did a LITTLE card for today. But I was not happy with it.....then I saw an idea for pegging photos, which inspired me, just as I was ripping the top off a cardboard box. At that moment it was the box I was keeping - not the lid....but then, DING went the bell in my head. THE LID!!! 

My project was born. Well, not quite 'born'....I had to MAKE it first:):)

Here's what I started with:

Like I say, I ripped the edge before I intended to use it....ooops!

And for the contrast. Here's my finished PHOTO HOLDER!

So now, when I'm scrapping, my photo will NOT get lost under a pile of JUNK on my desk...

 ...no matter how many or the orientation of them! They will NOT get smudged, damaged.....

...or covered in glue! And best of all they're still close by & easy to remove!!! Winner all round:)

This project needed a 'backing' for behind those windows:

Those WORDS needed covering up.....

And since I'm on a drive to use up those transfers & rubons...I went 'to town' & popped them everywhere! 

The washi & rubons I used to cover up that ripped edge at the bottom...

Even the bird is a transfer - onto white card stock then fussy cut out! I hope you enjoy using pegs in your project this month here at LESSology.....& BTW...would you like to see the card I rejected? ...If I don't show you, you'll always wonder about it, right? It took AGES too, because I do NOT like stitching:

LESSology Challenge #34: Creative inspiration of Mitra Pratt

Hello there! Hope you are busy working on your projects for LESSology Challenge #34: Laundry Day. Today's inspiration is by design team member Mitra Pratt.

Did you know that you can stain clothespins?

Yeah, me neither! I used clothing dye to turn mine black, but I hear food dye does the trick too!

I stared off with six clothes pins and let them sit in the dye bath for around a half hour.

To my surprise it worked perfectly!

Decorating them was easier than I thought too. I used some pretty little gems from The Funkie Junkie on one set along wtih some black glitter and on the other set I used some Prima Vintage Mechanicals from the same store along with a small metal top I had left over from a previous project.

Some flower images from Nicecrane Designs were carefully cut for the centers!

Now the Paris clips are hanging out in my kitchen to help keep snack bags shut. The Flower Clips are hard at work in my scrapbooking area.

They are nailed onto this cork board and will keep some of my little things handy.

LESSology Challenge #34: Creative inspiration of Julie Tucker-Wolek

Hope you have been inspired by the design team projects for LESSology Challenge #34: Laundry Day so far. Today's creative inspiration is brought to you by design team member Julie Tucker-Wolek! :)

Hi everyone! Julie with you here today with my take on this month's challenge LAUNDRY DAY!! Clothespins have been huge in the scrapping industry for a few years now, so how fun to have a challenge for clothespins! :) 

I made a canvas!! 

Can you see where I used the clothespins???  :) 

For the canvas itself,I painted and misted it.  Then I used some houndstooth tissue paper that I received from Paper Issues with my most recent scrappy purchase (Paper Issues wrapped my papers in the tissue paper!! LOVED THAT!!!)  

Then I took some vintage spools and decorated them with different various bits from my scrappy stash and shaped them into a heart! :) 

Added some Bella Blvd. paper bits on the top of each spool ... and you have a heart from some papers and bits :) 

Now enter the CLOTHESPINS!! Did you spot them right away??? :)

I took some Dear Lizzy clothespins and shaped them into "LOVE"  (only the "O" isn't a clothespin ... that's a mini wreath!!!)  :)

LESSology Challenge #34: Creative inspiration of Kirsty Vittetoe and Yvonne Yam

Ready to hang out some laundry to dry for LESSology Challenge #34: Laundry Day? *winks* Let's check out how design team members Kirsty Vittetoe and Yvonne Yam were inspired. :) 

All the walls in our house were white when we first moved in, I have since painted 2 of my daughter's room and guest room, and now it is time for the laundry room.

I bought a canvas 12"x24" and then start pulling out the scraps I will be using on this project, and that includes pages from scrapbooking catalogs, left over scrap of fabrics from quilting project and wall decals (left over from my daughter's room)

Playing with gesso, paint and mist is so therapeutic don't you think? oh plus those moulding paste and mask, double fun!

using the left-overs (alphabets) is not also easy, you can see that I have to make do with the missing letter "R"

well, it is going to be covered with fabrics anyway, so any hard chipboard would do the job

now that the wall art is ready, it is time to dig out the real paint and get the laundry room done!

Hello there! It's Yvonne here to share my altered project using clothespins.

I wanted to make a kitchen/dining room decor piece so I upcycled a badly scratched Tefal pancake pan. :)

I created the texture on the base using wrapping tissue, gel medium, glass bead gel and paint.

Then using little bits of trim, tulle and pretty things to decorate. I covered my little clothespins with washi tape.
