Working @ Settlers Cafe

Known only to a handful of friends is my new working environment at Settlers Cafe.
http://www.settlerscafe.com <- Check it out. It's a place of Relaxing and Gaming.

Been to the cafe located at Clarke Quay quite frequently for the past 2 months because of my poly friends who go there to relax and have fun. The Staffs are friendly and I really didn't know there are SOOoooo Many Board games and Card games other then Risk, Monopoly, Scrabble, Uno, Jenga ... ... There are definitely alot more fun and interesting games. From extremely simple card game to extremely tough strategy board games. It's a new hangout for my and my friends and well since I am out of job, I decided to try getting a job @ Settlers and I got it. Now working part time there.

Today is my third day @ Settlers as their Staff. First day we picked up some easy games. Second day I prepared drinks and most of the time washing dishes. Today I am more into taking orders and teaching some games. However my game knowledge is still very shallow and as such I taught only a handful of games which I know. Definitely gonna learn more games that are frequently played there so that I can provide better service there.

It's really great to work with fun colleagues. It reminds me of my colleagues in Teckwah Online. I really miss the times together and the breaks in which we built our bonds in. It might look like we are loafing around but I tell you, it's amazing how well the bonds can be with the frequent breaks and we do talk about work during breaks okie? Ways to improve and such. It's not a drink and talk crap thing only lor.

Okie so what's past is past. I only know that I should keep in contact with the amazing people I know there. ^^

Oh yah ... drop by at the Cafe when you are free and I can hook you up with some fun games. Remember dun come alone wor. Bring a group of 4 - 6 to better enjoy yourself. :) Hope to see some familiar faces there soon.

Today I saw Alex. Mr Nice Guy from Teckwah Online patronizing the cafe with his friends :)

Ho Ho Ho ... Merry Christmas

This year's Christmas Eve, I spent it with my relatives (Reason being I dun have a girlfriend to celebrate with ...) HaHa ... It's nevertheless fun to be celebrating with my fun loving cousins. We had a little Gift Exchange and I got this ... A pair of lamps withOUT bulbs. I am supposed to get the bulbs myself. lol But nevertheless it looks pretty and cool ... am eager to see how it looks like when lit. :)

After the gift exchange it's mahjong and then, well we kinda sleep rather early because my cousin is working the next day. It's quite a simple celebration but definitely warm :)

Actually I would really like to celebrate it with someone ... but I didn't really called her because she needs to work and she's rather cold towards me so ...

Anyway on Monday, a day after Christmas, we went Kbox for KTV session. It's a crazy night at the KTV with my cousin opening her concert and we forbidding her from holding the remote and alot of singing and laughters. A pity not all the cousins are around if not I think it will be more havoc. hahaha

That's my Christmas. How's yours?

Oh yeah I got 2 Great Card for Christmas too. One from Eugene & Debbie and the other from my dearest sis XiaoMei.

***Secretly tell you all ... I almost jumped when I got the cards. Because I never knew I would get them ^^***

Job hunt continues and it might stop (for a while)

Been to Settlers Cafe for an interview. Also applied for a position in Kbox as "Companion Singer" Hahaha!!!! No lah ... Kbox I applied as a waiter lah. Going to go part timing around if possible. :P

Kinda lost now dunno what to do. Last time still aim to go into gaming industry. Now that I left the gaming industry. I really dunno what to do liao.
I am just hoping for a company willing to take a NOOB in and let him start to learn from scratch and let him evolve from there. But doesn't looks like the market want to take a NOOB. Well its just too bad for them lor.

Anyway 天生我才必有用. Everything seems to be the beginning for me now. Until I really figured out what I am really good for else I am definitely a good for nothing. In my family and also among friends. Yeah Leon the good for nothing. ^^

No goals + No money = Nothing

So ... let's see when I am going to set my goal ....... maybe 5 years, 5 mths, 5 weeks, 5 days, 5 hours, 5 min, 5 sec ... .... or maybe even 50 years later? Hahaha
God knows. :P

First Time Attending Church Wedding

This is the first church wedding I ever attended. Actually it would have been my second but I missed the church wedding of my sis, Reina, which was in October. A pity I couldn't attend.

Anyway 17th December 2005 is the day where Desmond and Eunice tied knots in a church ceremony. It was held at Toa Payoh Methodist Church. I am very honored to be invited by them to grace this occasion. Glad they never forget me ^^ (感动)

Desmond was my ex colleague from Teckwah Online. He left to join another company some time back. He's a very nice and funny guy. We used to go KTV together with Eunice, his wife. D was famous for 无间道 by Andy Lau & Tony Leung and Eunice for 神奇 by Stephanie Sun. I really like their singing :)

Let's talk about the wedding. The programme goes like this:
Prelude (Pianist was playing some music while we waited for the bride)
Bridal March (the bride marches in with her father)
Invocation
Songs of Praise (Singing of songs)
Opening Prayer
Scripture Reading
Ephesians 5:22-33
Exhortation (conducted by Eunice's Uncle)
The Blessing of the Marriage
Special Presentations (presented by Eunice's brother and his friend)
Closing Prayer
Benediction
Recessional
Photography Session (Photo taking session)
Buffer Reception (Makan time)

Photo taken when the couple are putting on the rings. (The photographers all stand in the way so cannot really see it.)

Desmond is very smart in his suit and Eunice is gorgeous in her gown. They are definitely the most handsome and most pretty couple in that church.

I wish them eternal bliss and all the best ^^

Antony's Big Day

Wednesday 14th December 2005 is Antony and Joey's Big Day. If not wrong, they are registered with ROM in the year 2001 and went thru the customary yesterday.

It started with a "Star Wars" Introduction which changed to "How they meet" instead. After that is their March In. Antony looks dashing in his outfit which is very similar to those Japanese High School's uniform.

Later we had a second clip which showed the gate crashing by Antony and his brothers. The torture they been thru before he gets to enter and the money he needs to pay. The sisters actually get paid for torturing the groom ... easy money ay :P

Pouring the Champagne

交杯酒

YUMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmMMMMM SENG...

So next they go around taking photos with the guests and after that, I played the same game on them as I played with lala and her hubby. Surprisingly they chosed the same order. Hahaha ... So Antony will kiss the bride's breast, Bride kiss Antony's ass and last of all they kiss each others lips. Hey ... I not tekan them ok. I just created something that will let them remember (hopefully) on this special day :P Yah I dun care if I am a bastard today. :P The 3 yum sengs I screamed out ignoring the eyes since its a wedding, its supposed to be noisy and noisy I shall. besides they dunno me also. hahaha

Getting ready for their next sabo ...
*Note: Antony's already abit red :P

Yum Seng after the sabo ^^

Throughout the dinner, I was also looking at one of the waitress working there. :P She's very sweet and cute. Very kawaii. Too bad she's not serving our table. Haiz ... Didn't find out her name also. Too bad Aaron Siau was not around. If he's around, I bet the name and telephone number will be taken from her. :P

Antony and Joey are quite a fun loving group. They sure enjoyed themselves that night and Antony's bright smile can be seen the whole night. Heh Heh.

Me and my little sweetie pie (Chio right? Want her number? Ask me for it lah. Haha)

Our table gift. There's also a pair of chopsticks but I didn't take that. Guess they want them to bear a child fast ... 筷子 = 快点生子

Congratulations and Eterbal Bliss to Antony and Joey. ^^

As you can see above, it definitely has more "parts" comparing to Minerva.

Priscilla's Big Day

Sunday, 11th December 2005 marks a milestone for Priscilla as it's her big day with husband, Yuk Koon (Hope name is right). :)

Wedding dinner is at Noble House Restaurant located at UIC Building. It's a dark building from outside on a Sunday but inside it is filled with happiness and laughter.

Priscilla look gorgeous that night (Actually which gal doesn't?) and not to forget the husband looks dashing. :)

Champagne Popping Ceremony (Taken from my desk with Max Zoom from my K750i)

Lining up after the dinner to thank the attending guests (Can you see her brimming with smile?)

Another one I managed to take now showing the husband (abit lah) rushing to go inside lift + my camera abit slow so cannot take while they are both looking :)

Here's the table gift :P

Taken out, it reads "Thank You for making this a memorable evening"

祝你们白头偕老,永结同心,永浴爱河,早生贵子 (老师,我有写错字吗?) :P

Westlake Primary Gathering

"We call ourselves Westlakians
Happy children all
We are proud as Westlakians
Growing very tall
As a family, we work together in a strong country we live
Diligence is our staying power
and Loyalty is ours to give"

The above is my Primary School Anthem.

Here is a picture of my school logo which I had drawn.

Westlake Primary School is no longer existing from what I heard. However the people who used to study there still get the chance to gather together.

We had a small gathering of some Westlakians together on Saturday meeting up at Marche for dinner and a little drinking at Can Cafe.

Among us are Jiaxi, Shuwei, Qamar, Caimao, Yaxin, Junkai and Benson.

Here is a photo of us taken at Can Cafe.
Not much changes comparing to Primary School. :P

After 13 years ... I finally get to see them again. Except for Jiaxi, Shuwei and Yaxin. The rest of them ... 13 years... Wow!

It's really a great day. We started to talk about old school days. I gets kinda fun when you think back what craps you did then. haha

After the gathering, met up for Puerto Rico (Yes! Again). We played from 12am till about 3am then head back to AMK for super until like 4am + I think.

Woo Hoo ... Shag!

Movie Review: The Myth

I spend my Sunday night watching The Myth by Jackie Chan, Kim Hee Heon, Tony Leong and Mallika Sherawat.

This is a very nice movie. I like the story, fighting scenes, cast, scenery and music. As usual, fighting scenes inspire me especially war scenes where heroes are born. Jackie's usual fanciful fighting are not seen in his ancient role but more at his present role. Ancient role is very highly skilled and more like KungFu whereas the present one adds in alot more fanciful moves. Guess you can't do fanciful moves when you are fighting with hundreds of soldiers. But hey the ancient role trained his horse so well his horse can do fancy moves instead. LOL

The scenes taken in India are beautiful. The mountains and sea. I especially liked the plot about the meteorite stone that defies the law of gravity. It was a brilliant plot to come out with Emperor Qin using the meteorite stone to float his tomb in the air. The scene where the armies and palace float in the air is very spectacular. Although its computer graphics but it really is amazing.

There are alot more very nice scenes in the movie including Ok Soo (Kim Hee Seon) dancing, MengYi (Jackie Chan) fighting alone with many soldiers, scene of the frozen MengYi and Ok Soo and of course the humourous and fanciful fighting scenes. :)

Thumbs up for Jackie Chan.

P.S. I am watching the Original VCD. ^^

Sat at Settlers

Saturday, collected my contact lens at Toa Payoh (haven't changed my pair of lens for many many months already).

Then it's gaming at Settlers with Ken and Mun Keat. Fanwei and his gf came soon after that and followed by Audray and Kim.

We had dinner where Eunice (Ken's gf) came then to join us after her studies and we headed down to Mac again to play Bang! and Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico is a game of great thinking and planning. You gets real tired after playing a few rounds. That's Audray, Eunice and Ken you see there.

Well this is the game we cut and pasted and made. See the beads? Not the best but it's a masterpiece. Hahaha

We played till 11+pm and went to Eunice's place to continue. Home came into our mind at 3am.

Gaming Freaks :P

Friday @ Puerto Rico

No ... I didn't go there. LOL
Puerto Rico is a board game. I met up with my friends, Audray and Ken at AMK Big Mac Center to play it. This game was being done up together by us last week I think. We sat in Mac to cut the pieces, paste it and played it. Audray is very meticulous as he bought some stuffs as replacement for the original pawn.

We played the board game and went up to KPool to play pool and number ball with Audray's dad. After the game, we went back to Mac to play Puerto Rico till almost 3am. Then supper at S11 to chit chat till 4am then we went home. hahaha

Insane

Last day with TWO...

I started my venture in TWO on 9th Feb 2004 and officially ending my service on 30th Nov 2005. I must say that I had obtained alot of experiences at work and know more about office politics and human mind.

I had an office of very very nice people but many had left before me. Only a handful remains of them remains. I see people come and people go and now it is my time to go. Not that I wanted to but I am left with no choice but to leave.

This ain't the original place where I sit but the last place that I sit.

Closer view.

SharkPeng, our first and only Mascot which is considered my toy. I am sorta like the man inside it. (My dream of being inside a mascot has been realized)

My Lunch with the remainders of TWO. Alvin, Alex the MNG (No. Not Mango but Mr Nice Guy), Edward the magnificient web designer, Anthony the incredible coder, Budiman the silent worker and Priscilla the MNG (No. Not Mr Nice Guy but Ms Nice Gal) ^^

The night, we had the celebration (yes. of me leaving TWO) at kbox in Clementi. We had the guest appearance of Alvin Tan JL, Desmond aka D and his wife Eunice. I miss D's <无间道> and Eunice's 孙燕姿's songs. They left early so what's left is the following:

Me, PX, Mandy, Sis and Alvin. (Not to forget the one taking the photo is Viki)

I would like to thank TWO for everything. From working experiences to knowing many nice and wonderful people. (I do not wish to state undesirable moments and people)

I wish everyone in TWO (past and present) all the best in whatever they do. Especially D, Priscilla and Anthony who are both getting married in December ^^

3rd Interview at an Education Center

Courtesy of Ariel, my marketing manager, she recommended me to her friend who owns an Education Center in Jurong East as a Sales and Marketing Executive. Basically they teach Chinese from Pre school to Secondary 3. My role there is to plan schedules, administration, translation, explanation, look after the students and teachers, organise activity ... ... very much do everything. She told me they are still quite new so there are still things to organise.

It sure sounds challenging to me. However there are a few factors to consider.
1. Salary ???
2. 5 1/2 days incl Sat and Sun. Tue off. The other half day up to me to choose when to off. (If I take this job, I need to sacrifice my family day which is on Sunday. Being a very family oriented person, its going to be a very crucial factor.)
3. Journey ... Though nearer then my current workplace (I dun need to take a bus to work. It's near Jurong East MRT) but still about 1 hr of travelling time.
4. Advancement ... How far can I go?
5. Benefits? (Dental? Medical? Leaves? ... ... ...)

I am still considering if I want to take up this offer. Its gonna be interesting I personally feel but if the salary doesn't cover the above issues, I might not want to take up.

Oh well ... I shall consider and meanwhile continue to prey for my employer. 2 more days and I am leaving already. But I already prepared myself to be very "eng" in December. So I actually align somethings for me to do if I really can't get a job then.

1. Dec 10 (Primary Sch's gathering ... OMG I am looking forward to this one ALOT. I lost contact with them already but Ken actually still keep in contact with them Hahaha. Great!)
2. Dec 11 (Priscilla's Wedding)
3. Dec 14 (Anthony's Wedding)
4. I bought 4 Gundam Models as shown below to keep me occupied.

Gundam Seed: 1/60 Sky Grasper + Aile Strike @ $77

1/1700 Minerva @ $64

Gundam Seed: 1/100 Strike Rouge @ $63

Gundam: MkII ver 2 @ 64

5. I also planning to repaint my room and reorganise my room. Getting ready for the Chinese New Year in January. ^^

6. Give my blog a new look ...

There ... with the above I think it should keep me pretty occupied. Haha

Physio ...

Remember my arm problem? I finally went to let a Physiotherapist look at it today. Went to the Ma Kwang Branch in Ang Mo Kio after going back for a briefing session for Senior Officers at Ang Mo Kio Police HQ.

I went in to tell the therapist my problem and after a few questions, he asked me to take off my shirt and lie on the bed. Then he proceed to rub some cream on my shoulder blade and started to press the acupoints. OMG! It's DAMN BLOODY PAINFUL! It's sore and pain and I was almost gonna scream out but I LOOON!!!! Shit man ... He keep pressing the part where its painful and rubbing the tendon's location. I can feel the soreness and pain throughout my arms. For BOTH arms. I suffered in silence for 15 minutes while he was pressing on the acupoints and tendons. When he's done, I was relieved mentally and physically cause the arm's pain has reduced and now I can stretch and move my arms more freely. Also because I DUN have to endure the PAIN anymore ... The pain is really bearable since I can endure without screaming out. But trust me ... if he continues to press it any longer, tears will roll and voice will crack.

However now I am feeling better. $34.40 for the checkup and if still in pain, I should go back on Friday for another PAIN Bearing Session.

Sheesh ... I need to rest it man.

BTW today's briefing concludes the 10 cycle reservist and that means my sector going to be left with only 3 Senior Officers to look after 8 Troops. Not forgetting one of us needs to be a Commanding Officer and one to be an Orientation Officer.

I was arrowed to be the Commanding Officer but I told them I prefer to be the Team Leader of my Troop because I really feel more enjoyable to participate in ground patrol then to do admin work.

They say when you need to progress up, the lesser hands on you need to do. You are needed to use your brains more than your hands. But I am a very hands on person and would like to try and experience things myself. Staying in the office really bores me. Heh heh but then we are actually kinda left with no one to be chosen when the older batch leaves for their "retirement". To become a Commanding Officer is very tempting to me since I am sort of power hunger person. However given the choice of power and patrol, I will choose patrol. Cause my contribution towards patrol is more significant then having the power. Moreover, with great power comes great responsibilities. I know I cannot handle it at the moment so I shall not take up. I dun wish to be some irresponsible guy like some people I know. Disappointing man ... really ... irresponsible is a shame. Read my letters. S-H-A-M-E!

Morning Shift on the 12 Nov ...

OK ... to avoid getting into trouble, my tour of duty is gonna be very brief. You never know who's gonna read my blog. :)

Today got an eye opening case. Well I shall not disclose what's happening actually and the whole process because there are reporters there trying to snatch the pictures and news. So to protect the identity of the subject and the actual facts, I shall not say much. I will tell you what can be seen by the public.

Firstly Ambulance Arrival, at this point of time, 1 or 2 people are looking. Then Fire Brigade came and you start to see more crowds. The next thing you know is the Red Rhino coming. Now then I noticed they have different helmet colors. Rhinos are orange helmet and the Fire Brigade are white. The Rhinos pulled out 2 big fans and the Air Bag. Within moments, it's filled up with air.

Later, a group of Dart Team arrived at scene. They are the SCDF's special task force. Specialising in rescue operations. They did repelling from one of the higher unit to the involved unit to secure the windows at the back.

Before that you can see a huge crowd at the scene looking at what's happening. Reporters were also there. Photos taken.

I wonder if they could snap any shots of me ... Hmmm

********************
After duty, I went home to bath and bring a friend along to meet my Animal Gang at Settlers to play games again. haha

Ken thinking.

Audray relieved after taking a piece out.

MunKeat concentrating.

Well... we got bored so we tried playing other ways ...

Kim gives it a try at the "Jenga Tower" ...

Everyone giving opinions on which to take. Well after whichever piece taken, this "Jenga Tower" collapsed.

BOOM!

After gaming, we went for supper at Boat Quay. Reached home at almost 3am I think :)

What Are The Keys To Your Heart?

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to obedience and warmth.

In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.

You'd like to have your lover to think you are loyal and faithful... that you'll never change.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was ruthless, cold-blooded, and sarcastic.

Your ideal relationship is lasting. You want a relationship that looks to the future... one you can grow with.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage something you've always wanted... though you haven't really thought about it.

In this moment, you think of love as commitment. Love only works when both people are totally devoted.
