2011 Swimming Lessons

A few days before this was taken we went swimming and I wanted D to show me the things she had been learning. She refused and said she wanted to surprise me. SHE DID! She was a fish. Last year she did not want to even have her face under the water.

Carter is built solid. He has no fat and has dense bones therefore, floating is a challenge for him, He is lucky to get his head out of the water. He is like Scott. He worked hard even though it was difficult for him. He is growing quite a bit and coordination is not one of his strengths right now. All his muscles and bones are focused on is growing.
Emma has no fear and barrels in. She loves Trish and when Trish asked her students what is the #1 safety rule about swimming, Emma's response was, "Not to drown." It was not quite the answer she was looking for but figured it trumped all other answers.

Aaron is demonstrating the survival jump, I love this picture it looks like he

is running onto the water.

Also the survival jump!

Trish said Scott could come in his suit for A and B lessons and jump in afterward. He of course took her up on her offer and got into a dunking war with all 4 students.

Family Pictures

Katie and Matt.
Joined by Jaden and Jolie. Jaden wanted to pose like a superhero in everyone of their family pics. They were hilarious, very candid!
Gorgeous Jeanie Pearl
Mom and Pop. Kind of symbolic if you know my Dad. ;)
I love seeing my parents love each other.
Gary, Sarah, and Jeanie
James and Becky
John and Aimee
Mom wanted family pics of everyone. I enjoyed taking these. I love the beauty of Lake Powell and love my family even more. All of the candid ones, each families personality comes out. Kind of a challenging environment to take pics in as there is no shade, either blaring sun from the east, west or right above that gives horrible shadows. But still good memories. Darrell and his crew left before we got there and I forgot our clothes. Brilliant moment of mine.

2011 Lake Powell

This was one of our favorite Lake Powell years! The weather was perfect, the water was a little chilly the first day but gradually warmed up, and we have the perfect location! We all had a great time and hundreds of pictures later I have to narrow it down to just a few. That is a hard task. The kids behaved so well and each in their own way were brave and tried new things. (except Fischer)

Emma and her "can of caffeine," that is what she called it, not completely accurate. I won't tell you where she found it though. She felt very lucky. She was so brave. She would stick her floaty on over her life jacket and head off into the water.

Jolie and Fischer dancing
Flower Child Darylyn. She overcame her fear of the slide and 20 minutes of sitting on that thing and the promise of a dollar bill later she went down! Brinlie basking in the setting sun.

Our annual glow stick night.

Aaron was a big help this trip.

Look at that FORM.
