A new card with Heartfelt Creations

This week on the Heartfelt Creations blog I have a new card being shared. I have once again used Romantique Garden for this card. I have used a large background stamp inside a window frame and then layered bleeding heart blossoms over the top of the stamped petals.

The stamp is quite large and detailed, so I chose to keep this the focus and left the rest of the card quite simple...not an easy task for me, but it really didn't need anything else.

As always, the team have so many beautiful and really different projects on show this week, so it is always worth taking a look at this week's blog post here.here. I think that Anne's card is a stand out for me this week. The white inked flowers really stand out.

Ruby Rock-It Monday Blues | Alicia Barry |

At this time of year, one can't help but notice signs of Christmas at every turn. I especially love Christmas lights and do a big display in my garden. This past week, I headed to the Christmas light shop and saw the most beautiful blue and silver themed Christmas tree.

I recently took these photos of my daughter in her brand new ballet tutu and I thought that the blue and silver colour scheme of the Christmas tree would transfer beautifully to a layout of her.

Here's a little picture I found on Pinterest to show you an idea of what I found in the store.

christmas ball tree diy - cute and inexpensive. maybe even good for an older kid christmas party?

...and here's what I came up with. I have used some left over pieces from the wedding line: My Romance, and added some silver Glitz, some Freckled Fawn embellishments and some pearlescent paint.

A new Heartfelt Creations share

These Wednesdays keep rolling around so quickly, only a few weeks left until Christmas. The good part though is that there are lots of beautiful brand new projects on the Heartfelt Creations blog.

We are right in the middle of a month of Romantique Garden, and I am really inspired by the many different ways that the team are using this collection. Several of the designers have changed the colour to suit other occasions like Christmas. Very clever!

Here's my contribution for this week. I hope you like it :)  Behind the scenes, we have been working with two brand new releases for CHA. They are both sop pretty, I can;t wait to share them with you.

Ruby Rock-It Beyond the page |Alicia Barry|

It's my turn on the Ruby Rock-It blog again with another beyond the page project. I decided to stick with the intended theme of the Country Cookin' collection by creating a cute little recipe box.

I began with an old Maya Rd metal embellishment tin.

I lined the inside of the  tin also, but kept it fairly simple, so that I will be able to fit lots of  recipe cards inside.

I have combined some fussy cutting, and some die cuts, but kept it relatively simple so as not to obstruct the window.

This was really simple and easy to put together and would make a great gift.

And some great news, for us Aussies, the new ranges Country Cookin' (featured above) and Handi Scandi will be available at Spotlight in early December.

Romantique Garden

This week for Heartfelt Creations, I have made a layout using the new Romantique Garden collection. This is such a pretty line, and I am loving playing with the bleeding hearts flowers, they are so different to many other flower dies.

To make these three dimensional flowers, I adhered two together and then used the flower in the heart die as the third side to make a triangular type flower.

I also did lots of layering of the card matts behind the photos.

Now, go and check out the work from the other designers, especially Kathleen Roney. I love her use of white and the way that the colours in the stamped image stands out against it.

Romantique Garden from Heartfelt Creations

Welcome to another new release from Heartfelt Creations. Romantique Garden is a very pretty new collection with a brand new flower shape (bleeding hearts) that are very sweet.

Love is in full bloom with the Romantique Garden collection from Heartfelt Creations. A romantic symphony composed in subtle shades of pink, fuchsia, green, cream and charcoal harmonizes beautifully with picturesque images of dainty hummingbirds, devoted love birds, graceful swans and delicate bleeding heart bushes.

Ornate ironwork backgrounds are in perfect harmony with layered elements of vintage sheet music, lace, flowing handwriting, scrollwork, florals, stripes and flourishes. Six hand drawn stamp sets capture the idyllic beauty of a peaceful garden where swans glide across the surface of a glassy lake, nesting lovebirds are wreathed in flowers, and hummingbirds sip nectar from blossom laden branches of exquisite beauty.

The coordinating die cuts feature elegant swirled stems, a graduated set of bleeding heart blossoms and a majestic pair of swimming swans. Dreamy and idyllic, uplifting and inspiring, romantic and moving as a masterfully scored concerto, this enchanting collection is a celebration of love and life amidst the extraordinary beauty of nature.

Here's my first project with this lovely line. I've made the flowers dimensional by layering a second die cut petal over the top of the stamped image by folding it through the centre.

As always, check out the rest of the team on the blog here, where you can also get the instructions for making my card, and see a new video from Emma Lou.

You can also check out loads of Heartfelt Creations projects on Pinterest.

Heartfelt Wednesday again.

Another week gone past so fast, but the good news is, it is time to share new Heartfelt Creations work again.  First though, you may have missed the blog hop going on between Ruby Rock-It and WOW embossing. If that's the case, then do yourself a favour and check it out out here!

Now back to Heartfelt Creations. I have another boy layout this week to share. This is my cheeky little monkey with his missing tooth. For my background, I have used some die cuts from the All Geared Up collection as a mask. You can get the full instructions of course on the Heartfelt blog.

All of the new designers are doing an outstanding job, be sure to have a look at each of their blogs.

Ruby Rock-It and WOW embossing blog hop.

Hello Ruby Rock-It Fans and WOW Embossing Powder fans!  We are delighted to have you join us this week for the fun with our blog hop!

We are very excited to be partnering with this fabulous company and their amazing designers, so here's all the info you will need...and then come and join and hop along!

Here's the blog hop order, all you need to do to be eligible for our prize, is to leave a comment on each designer's blog and then come back to our blog letting us know you have done so!  Comments will be closing on Friday, November 21st at 11:59pm PST.

Here's our beautiful prize:  The Essence East Coast collection! [album not included]

And here's my project!

First I used the Funky Border Strips  stamps (the script and the dots), then sprayed colour over the top. I then sprinkled Vanilla Sparkle over it, for both texture and shine. ( I did this while the paint was still wet enough to hold the powder in place).

Next I made a heart using Melt-It! and Totally Teal mixed together in the Ornate heart mould.

A little twine and some fussy cutting, and it was all done. I love how the background looks.

Next, be sure to head over to visit Jennifer Cowles to see what she has come up with.

It's Wednesday again already!

Thank you so much for the lovely comments on my mask from last week, I'm really glad you liked it.

I have another card using the All Geared collection on the Heartfelt Creations blog this week. I've used a background stamp with embossing powder to create a shiny background in the window of the card.

Not only are there lots of gorgeous projects on the blog from all the designers, but you will also see a sneak peek of the next new collection called Romantique garden. It's such a pretty collection with a really great and different flower. You will love it.

Yay it's Heartfelt share day again.

Today is another very exciting week on the Heartfelt Creations blog as all the new designers are sharing their work for the first time, so be sure to check out their work and leave them some
encouragement. Candy Slabaugh has made a very cool steampunk hat using the All Geared up collection. and I also really like Debbie Sayers work.

I have a couple of things to share this week. both made with the All Geared Up collection. First is a card with lots of die cut gear shapes. I have used lots of Metallic inks and Inka  gold to add dimension  and texture.

For my next share, I decided to try something a bit different.I'm not entirely convinced I pulled it off, but trust me when I say that it does look better in real life. I guess you don;t know untyil you start playing.

I made a mask like this last year for my husband to wear to a work party. It was all gold and black and had lots of metal trinkets . I wanted to have another go at a mask, using the All geared up dies as the main focus.  For this one I die cut the shapes in plain cardstock and adhered them to the plastic mask, then applied gesso over the whole thing. I was trying to create texture using the dies shapes. I've used this technique before, and it's a fun way to add some delicate texturing without alot of clutter. I then added colour with paint sprays. (Perhaps I could have gone a bit darker?).

I then cut lots of gear shapes from the patterned paper and added lots of metallic melts and Inka gold. I also gave the whole thing a light spray of gold at the end.

Anyway, here it is, tell me what you think.

OK, experimenting over, back to some cards and layouts. I can't wait to show you the new collection coming up this month, it's so pretty!.
