65th Birthday Bash

My parents were born just 5 days apart. Pretty cool, huh? Cheralyn (I think it was her--she rocks!) came up with the awesome idea to throw them a huge 60th birthday party, and we were starting to plan it when Adam and I decided to get married at almost the same time. (The nerve of us, huh?) So, the party was postponed for 5 years. My siblings and I worked so hard for pretty much the last 6 months plus. Cheralyn was kind of at the head as the brains of the operation, Alison kept lists of EVERYTHING--including being super smart about all the tiny details we would need like tape and scissors, Jeremy put together an amazing dvd of their lives and was the MC, Trisha and Will spent countless hours on making invitations and collecting addresses, and I put together tributes from the grandchildren and Nathan (who, sadly, was not able to be there). The in-laws were all super awesome, as well, doing everything else from heating and organizing the food to blowing up balloons. A couple of us kept joking that we were putting on a small wedding, the only difference being that we had balloons instead of flowers. We also put together a small program with a few songs and special things. Our hard work paid off, and it was truly a night to remember. Thanks to our friend Emily, we have tons of amazing pictures to help us remember. Thanks, also, to the many wonderful friends and family who traveled so far to share the event--it would not have been half the party it was without all of them! Happy birthday to my truly incredible parents! So many of their friends kept saying that us putting on the party was such a tribute to them, showing how much they were loved and what wonderful parents they must be. I could not agree more. We love you so much and are grateful every day for all of the amazing things you do for us. Thank you!!!!!!

Precious Moments

Last night I gave Daniel and Rebecca a bath. She kept scooping water with a little cup and pouring it over his tummy and legs, and he just kept looking at her and laughing--more than I have ever heard him laugh. They kept doing what they were doing, looking at each other and laughing, for a long time. I loved watching them as they had their own special way of communicating without any words. I love to see how much my kids love each other. To me, that is truly the best part of being a parent to multiple children. I love taking pictures of my kids, but not all of the good ones fit into certain posts. Below are a few of those that I really love:

Happy Birthday & a Really Fun Visit

Adam and I turn 27 this year, ahh! I made creamed turkey with waffles and a cheesecake for his birthday dinner. We are so blessed to have him as the Patriarch and Priesthood leader of our home. Happy birthday, Babe! We all love you so, so much!!!

Doug and Tamara were super awesome and invited us to a birthday bbq for Adam at their house. They also told us to invite our good friends the Morgans. What a fun evening! Thank you for always being so fun, thoughtful, and awesome, DT Halls!!!

For Christmas this year, my mom got super ambitious (and, she says, a little crazy, haha) and moved out ALL the books, pictures, etc. from her downstairs and temporarily replaced them with about 450 of her 600+ nativities. (Yes, I did type those numbers correctly!) Some of her sisters came to see the amazing display, one as a surprise, and my dad thought it would be fun to fly in Trisha as a surprise, too! We loved getting to go to lunch and Sees with her, and it was so much fun to do an adult dessert night (at Claim Jumper--yes!) for some more birthday fun. Daniel loved meeting his Aunt Trisha!

Christmas #2

This year we got to have two whole Christmas days! Two days after our personal Christmas Day celebrations, we got to do it all over again with our entire Hall family at the Hall house. We loved being there with everyone! We opened stockings and presents, ate our traditional fruit cup (so good!) and waffles with creamed turkey, and spent the day together having lots of fun in our jammies. My kids loved being with their Hall cousins for a whole week. The week was filled with cousin playtime, evening shows for the moms, and a decathlon for the brothers. Thanks to all of you for a wonderful Christmas! We had such a great time!!!

We hope to see you Texas and Utah Halls again soon!!! XOXO

Awesome Date!

Last Friday night our stake put on an adult Valentine Dance. It was a blast! Adam and I went to dinner before with our friends Lauren and Jeff, then we hit the dance. We loved revisiting something that we loved doing in our youth. Adam was probably the most excited for it of all the husbands--that is why I love him! We had such an amazing night!!!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas was especially fun this year. We did our first ever Christmas morning at home--just Adam, me, and our kids. Steven woke up at 3:45, and told me very plainly that he did not want to have a big sleep, he just wanted to see what Santa had brought. Adam and I watched him open his stocking, then we all three squished back into one bed for a few more hours until Rebecca woke up. Santa had brought a lot of fun things, and both kids especially loved their airplane cars he had given them. Later that morning the Elders came to call their families, then we shared a yummy breakfast with them. We loved getting to go to church on Christmas! We said hello to our Hall family after church, then our King family came over for dinner and more gift fun! Grandma and Grandpa hooked Steven up with some awesome face cars, and Rebecca was totally set up with princess girliness by them and Eliza (Wayne was so cute to help her put everything on). Thank you to everyone for a perfect Christmas day!!!
