Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

Adam and Steven got to have a boys' outing to watch the Dodgers last week. Thanks Grammy and Papa for the tickets! Soon after the guys got to the game, they caught a foul ball! Steven has been so proud and is telling everyone about his new special ball. Both grandpas were pretty jealous that Steven got a ball the first time he ever went to a game. I guess he's just a lucky boy!!!

Two Little Angels

Look at my beautiful cousin and her precious family! She just gave birth to two perfect baby girls!!! This is especially amazing because our family has absolutely NO history of twins. Guess what else? She carried them for almost 39 weeks!!! Can you imagine having 2 full size babies in you? They were both over 7 pounds!!! She rocks. I have only seen a few pictures, but I can already tell that these are such angelic little princesses. I love them already. Congratulations, Marie and Tia!

New Posts!

If you haven't been here for a while (because I haven't written for a while), I am in catch-up mode! I have don 5 new posts this week--I still have 4 or 5 more coming. :)

Summer Travels, Part 1 of 4

July was a full, fun, fantastic month! We did a lot of traveling, but the good times started when the Krugers came to California. They stayed at my parents' house for 2 weeks, and we spent almost every day in the pool.
One night my mom, sisters, and I took a girls' trip to Solvang. We had such a great time together, and our men were so great to take over on the kids and let us escape.

Fathers' Day

We had such a great Fathers' Day this year! We were so lucky to be able to celebrate all 3 dads in our lives.
The kids and I started with presents in the morning for our daddy. After that, we got ready for the day and headed over to Grammy and Papa's for brunch, then we went to their ward.
We ended the day with dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's. The traditional King Father's Day dinner is stuffed Cornish game hens, cranberry sauce, peas, yummy bread, and parsley and a twisted orange slice for the garnish--AMAZING! This was actually Adam's first time enjoying that meal. We had a wonderful day with cousins, grandparents, siblings, and the best dads!!!

Things I Know I'll Miss

There are so many cute things my kids do that I know I will miss when they stop doing them as they grow older. Here is a list of a few things I want to make sure I always remember:
  • Steven stroking my face, asking me to take him outside or give him cereal
  • Rebecca always asking for cereal/"ce-eal," no matter how much of it she has eaten
  • Both kids holding hands or hugging while they sing and dance to "We love each other, na-na-na-naa-na!"
  • Steven calling his Cars movie cars "car face" (always singular, 'though it stands for all at once)
  • Rebecca patting my back as I hold her
  • Both kids "wrestling" with each other throughout the day--being very careful, in fact
  • Steven constantly roaring, pretending to be a crocodile, lion, leapard, tiger, dinosaur, etc.
  • Rebecca thinking that every predetor cat is a lion
  • Both kids squeezing into one baby swing so they can both have a turn at the same time. This trick also applies to our car stroller.
I love my kids so much and am so grateful to be blessed to have them in our home. The best part is seeing how much they love each other!

Fun Animal Activities

When we lived in Santa Barbara we bought a family pass to the zoo, and we loved going there! We have gone back once since moving, and hope to go one more time before our pass expires. Steven's favorite animals always seem to be the giraffes and gorillas. Rebecca's are the elephants. Both kids also love the lions and flamingos ("mingos," as Steven calls them).

Once we took a ride on the train that circles the zoo, and we stopped right by the lions' habitat. It was just about time for them to eat, and we were really grateful to be on a different side of the fence from them. It was pretty cool to see them so close and active, though.

A while back we went to Hart Park and visited the animals. The kids loved throwing special food through the fences. We took a fun hike, too. What a great family activity!

Birthday Fun

April is so jam-packed with birthdays on my side of the family--it's a blast! We have "Aunt Misty" (Alison's roommate), Tyler, Steven, me, then Thomas--all within just over a week of each other.

We started celebrating with a big family party, we spent Steven's birthday dinner at the Hall house, and we ended it all with my parents taking us out for an adult dinner on my birthday. Steven even got to go to the movies with just him and Grammy on his special day. We celebrated for so long that Steven started to think he was going to get presents every day, haha.

I had a lot of fun making a Lightning McQueen birthday cake for Steven, and he loved it. We had so much fun with all our April birthdays!!!
