Newport Beach

For the last few years my parents have had a timeshare in Newport Beach that they use right after Christmas. Anyone who can go does. I have never been able to stay for more than a few days out of the week, but this year I was there the whole time! It was such a blast! The only thing that would have made it more fun was if Adam and my brother Jeremy's family had been able to come. Hopefully next year, right? Adam was there for at least a couple days, though. :)
Right after we arrived, my mom, Cheralyn, Trisha, and I headed out to the grocery store. I won't say how much anyone spent, but the pictures should give a pretty clear idea. I don't know what's worse: the fact that we bought so much, or the fact that we had also brought left-overs from home and STILL managed to eat almost everything. :/

One especially fun part of the trip was seeing how much the tiny kids (who were little babies last year) loved being together. Steven, Thomas, and Alison were hilarious! We were constantly laughing at their excited screams and laughs at being together. My kids and I shared a suite with my sister Cheralyn's family, and it was so much fun to see Steven and Thomas greet each other every morning. They loved copying each other! Whether they were banging their heads on the backs of their high chairs, running up and down the hall (sorry, neighbors!), or pretending to swim on the carpet, they were always trying to be like each other. Thomas was usually leading the running--he's pretty fast--and he'd always keep looking back to make sure Steven was still following him. These cute boys are only 6 days apart, and I know they will always be super close. Rebecca was also loving being with so many wonderful cousins. She was so smiley all week!
We spent a day at the beach, and it was so nice. The adults all thought the water was painfully cold, but none of the kids seemed to mind. It's like they have a completely different thermostat.
We also loved going to Knott's Berry Farm. I haven't gone there for so long, and most of the kids had never been. Steven's favorite ride was definitely the cars. Those things whipped around the corners like crazy! It kind of freaked Trish and me out, haha.
I need to make Jell-o more often, I guess.
This is what happened on the way back from Knott's.
We love our cousins!

I can't wait to go again! I am so grateful to my parents for setting up and providing such wonderful opportunities for us to all be together! Thanks!!! Our next King Family Destination will be an Alaskan cruise this July, and everyone will be there! Bon Voyage!!!

Happy Birthday, Adam!!!

I can't believe that Adam is now 25(a quarter of a century)-years-old, and that I am soon to follow! I used to think that people who were 25 were so old. Even in college it seemed to me like our 25+ friends were so much more mature than us. I must have been wrong though, because we still seem to me like the same tennis-playing high school kids to me; we've just added a couple kids so we can now play doubles.
Adam's parents set him up with an awesome chainsaw for his birthday! This is such a blessing, as we are just setting things up for him to start his own tree care business. Woohoo!
We also had a little birthday celebration with my family on our trip to Newport Beach. Everyone was so thoughtful and generous. Thanks!

Happy birthday, Babe! I love you!!!

Happy 3rd Anniversary!!!

We celebrated our 3rd anniversary right after Christmas on December 29th. Wow, so much has happened in those 3 short, but amazing years! Thanks to our King parents for their great family Christmas gift, we were able to enjoy a wonderful Cheesecake Factory dinner. Then we saw "Mary Poppins" on stage in LA. It was truly amazing! I love you forever, Babe!!!

Merry Christmas!

We spent Christmas with the Halls this year, and it was such a blast! We had 6 kids under the age of 4, 4 of which were less than 4 months old! Needless to say, the week was very fun and very busy.A couple days before Christmas we went go-kart racing. It was definitely fun, but I'm not sure how soon I'll want to jump onto a race track again with the Hall boys. I definitely drive at a different pace.On Christmas Eve we were able to do things with both our Hall and King families. My sister Alison has made it a tradition to cook breakfast for the whole family on Christmas Eve. She made the best pancakes I have ever had! I always look forward to meeting as a family in here home. We spent Christmas Eve with the Halls, as their tradition is to invite all the nearby relatives for a party. Mom Hall always makes amazing chili, we sing and visit, and the kids reenact the manger scene. This year we had 4 baby Jesus's. It was pretty darn cute!

It was really fun for Adam and me to have a child who was old enough to enjoy opening a stocking on Christmas morning. Santa brought Steven a cute umbrella that looked like a frog face, some candy and doughnuts, a cell phone, and a Mr. Potato Head. He also brought Steven, Rebecca, and all their Hall cousins some super cute pj's. We had fun exchanging gifts and visiting throughout the afternoon. Later in the day we headed over to the Kings' for more gift giving and a wonderful Christmas dinner. We had such a wonderful day. What a blessing it is to live so close to so much family!!!
