Bella Blvd | Invisibles & Ears...

Hello Lovely Friends!  This poor little blog has been somewhat neglected again. But I am back today to share a layout created for Bella Blvd.  This blog post's title seems a little strange if not down right bizarre. I promise however, once I share, it will all start to make sense! LOL!

This week on the Bella blog, the creative team are focusing their creative minds on how to use the Invisibles Specialty papers. I love these transparencies; they are a little thicker than normal transparency paper and a lot sturdier than vellum sheets. Here's my project..

"Ears"

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Bella Blvd: Campout; Simply Spring; Bella Blvd Invisibles - Click! Click!, Blessings, Chit Chat, A Day At A Time; other - Bella Blvd: Treasures & Text, Enamel Dots, Crochet Hearts, Ciao Chip chipboard, Bella Bows; embroidery thread; Tools - typewriter, machine stitching, paper piercer.

Is the title starting to make sense now? *grin*

When putting this layout together, I knew I wanted to create a fun title! I wanted it to be large and I wanted the title to have layers - much like you would see on an illustration of a bunny rabbit.  With the Simply Spring collection and the fabulous Color Chaos Invisibles range I've created a fun look held together with hand stitching!

The first step was to select my patterned papers and cut large title letters with my silhouette. I followed the same procedure when cutting the letters from the transparent sheets of Invisibles. Before choosing which letter would be layered with which Invisible sheet, I made certain I could see both the patterned paper and Invisibles features. To finish off the title, I pre-pierced holes through both layers and hand stitched with coordinating thread.

To add to my layout, I've placed a white Bella Bow directly to the photo to make it look a bow tie. And I don't know if you can see in the photo or not, but this boy is pushing his very loose tooth over the top of his lip to get the "toothy" bunny rabbit effect!

Finally, I've played with the journaling to form a circle on white cardstock. Another subliminal message that I was documenting Easter, referring to not so round Easter Eggs!

Thanks for visiting today.  I hope you get the chance to visit the Bella blog this week for more fun inspiration using the Invisibles Specialty papers..x

Bella Blvd | Watermelon...

Hey there gorgeous people!  I just want to apologise for my absence of late.  It has been quite crazy in these parts recently and well, hopefully I am starting to get back on track with a few scrappy shares!

Today I want to start with a fun, Summery layout that is up on the Bella Blvd blog today.  We are starting to feel the effects of Winter here but not enough so we need to start wearing layers of clothing. In fact, with the freaky weather we're experiencing at the moment, it really does still feel like Summer.  Anyway... I digress...

"Watermelon"

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Bella Blvd (Color Chaos, Lucky Starz); Invisibles - Bella Blvd (Campout); alpha - Bella Blvd (All American); other - Bella Blvd: chipboard pieces, enamel dots, stickers; paint; tools - typewriter, machine stitching.

This week I was challenge to create a layout using the delightful Color Chaos collection and team it up with either Invisibles or Clear Cuts!

I had such a fun time putting this page together.  I simply layered clusters of patterned paper in a geometric formation (three - one for each of my boys) and used the Color Chaos collection to represent the watermelon! See the Bella Blvd blog here for my meaning. *grin*

I also chose an Invisible sheet from the Campout collection, which was hand cut to a similar size to the patterned paper, and then machine stitched to the background cardstock.  The chipboard watermelon, perfect for this story, comes from the Bella Blvd | All American collection.

Thanks for visiting me here today. I hope you will get the chance to check out the other amazing projects from DT members Christin & Corri over at Bella...x

Bella Blvd | Pinterest Inspiration...

Hello Friends.  I feel like I still have the need for post holiday slumbers.  *grin*  The temperatures here in SE Queensland have started to soar.  And that's okay.  Because we can quite comfortably turn on the AC and stay in our pyjamas all day long if need be. *wink*  But today I thought I'd like to leave my lazy haze, for just a moment and share with you my layout created for Bella Blvd.

"Imagination"
products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella Blvd; alpha - Bella Blvd; other - Bella Blvd:  cardstock stickers, designer tape; colorshine mist, date stamp, archivers ink.

Ethan created this 'costume' for book week by wearing blue clothes and painting the side of a cardboard box, blue.  He didn't have very many materials to work with and I didn't want to interfere with his grand scheme.  He stuck a possum hat on his head and went as a character from the book he is holding.  And guess what.  He won.  LOL!  He won the prize for his class.  He didn't need a store bought costume for the latest superhero or the thing that all the cool kids are currently wearing!  I love that he was creative and stuck to his idea!

I've taken my inspiration from the red and yellow colours but there's a few other details from the Pinterest photo that I've used on my page!  Head on over to the Bella Blvd blog for more details.  Thanks so much for visiting...x

The Scrapbook Store | Scoot..

Hello Friends.  Today I have a little scrappy share for The Scrapbook Store.  I've been given the gorgeous Carta Bella "Rough & Tumble" collection to play with and what better way than to focus a layout on all three of my boys!  *grin*

"Scoot"

products used: cs - bazzill; pp - Carta Bella (Rough & Tumble); alphas - American Crafts; other - Carta Bella: cardstock stickers; Scrapfx chipboard scooter; tools - black pen, hole punch.

These guys have been riding their scooters around and around our patio table non-stop lately.  Especially first thing in the morning, before they are fully dressed to go to school!  They have races with each other and always declare themselves the winner!  LOL!  The rules to the game change constantly as well and before it gets nasty... I chase them inside to finish getting ready in time to catch the school bus!

This chipboard scooter was a perfect embellishment highlighting my boys' favourite craze at the moment.  Isn't it super cute!

I've again used plenty of stickers from the Rough & Tumble collection.  They are so easy to layer and play with.  For a little extra dimension, I've hand cut three stars (one for each boy!!) and mounted them with foam tape.

Don't forget to visit The Scrapbook Store for all your papercrafting needs.  Thanks so much for visiting..x

The Scrapbook Store | Feb Sketch..

Hello Everyone!  I am back today to share with you a wonderful sketch challenge over at The Scrapbook Store.  I love Nadia's sketches because they always challenge me!  LOL!  And this time was no different.  Here is the sketch..

And my simple version of it!..

"You Make Me Happy"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Pebbles (Family Ties), Bella BLVD; other - Pebbles (Family Ties); Accent & Phrase stickers, chips; Manor House leaves, glimmermist (sunflower); tools - silhouette portrait, EK Success punch, machine stitching.

This layout was created from my January DT kit.  It had so many gorgeous Pebbles papers and embellishments in it!!  I really fell in love with the Pebbles "chips" and I wanted to make them a feature on my page.

I machine stitched a semi circle directly onto my cardstock and then layered the chipboard pieces and fussy cut paper flowers.  I moved them around until I found a colour balance I was happy with and then added the silhouette cut stars as an extra punch.  :)

And sometimes the simplest of phrases can mean the most.  The title and journaling not necessarily original but most definitely heart felt..

I hope you will join in with the challenge.  I would really love to see your version of this amazing sketch.  Thanks for visiting..x

The Scrapbook Store | Hello...

Hi There!  Today I have a quick share from The Scrapbook Store using my DT kit for November.  This month I have been playing with the glorious Crate Paper "On Trend" collection!!

"hello"

products used: cs - kaisercraft; pp - Crate Paper (On Trend); other - Crate Paper: chipboard stickers & tape stickers, Crafters Template (reverse chicken wire), kaisercraft: pearls & paint, versacolor ink, vellum; tools - typewriter.

This was such a fun photo to scrap!  Here's a little background info.  My mum lives in North Queensland.  It is about 15 hours drive.  On a good day.  It usually takes longer and can you imagine travelling that long with four children in the car, constantly asking if we are there yet???!  Yep.  It's out of love that we persevere and make these trips!!  LOL!

Anyway... When Mum comes to visit us, she usually flies.  Smart.  But she also likes to keep it a surprise for the kids!  hahaha! So... It's moments like this that I love capturing!  Even though Cam is looking extremely worried about the whole Oh-My-Gosh-Nanny-I-Can't-Believe-You-Are-Here hug!! *grin*

I have also included some hidden journaling on this page.  The words are very similar to what has been expressed above.

This is such a beautiful collection to scrap with.  And soooo many options as well.  I've cut up quite a few tags from the Tag Cuts paper to create my layers.  I so can't wait to get started on scrapping another memory with this collection soon.  Thanks for visiting..x
