A Thank You Card

Hi Everyone

Today's card has not been made by me - it was made by Edward.

Last week he went on his first school camping trip. He was very apprehensive before going, only having stayed away from home at Grandma's before with William.

Well, we picked him up from school on Friday to find that he had had a fabulous time and couldn't wait to go again next year - he hadn't washed of course, but that's boys for you!!!!

Today, he asked me if he could make a card to say "Thank You" to the staff who went on the trip.

So, he had a look through Joanna Sheen's "Messy Rabbit" CD and found the perfect picture of Messy Rabbit camping. With some help from "super" Daddy, (again!!) he has made a wonderful card.

It was quite scary for me to leave them to their own devices with my crafting treasures. I wasn't able to supervise them as I was busy labelling clothes etc for William's camping trip tomorrow - one in, one out!!!!

Anyway, he has done such a good job that I just had to share it with you -

He's even put in an insert!!!!

Apparently he used the interactive option on the disk and typed it himself!!!

Well done Edward - you've done a great job.

Thanks for dropping by to take a look, hope you like it.

Purr-fect Pals

Hi

Today I have a card that fits two challenges - Copic Colour Challenge and Just Magnolia.

This week's colours at Copic Colour Challenge are:
And Just Magnolia have this fabulous sketch by Bev.
So, here's my card:

I used the Magnolia "Tilda with Cat" stamp from the new Animals & Pets Collection - I love this new collection so much, all the characters are so adorable.
Obviously, I coloured Tilda with my Copics!! The cat reminds me so much of my Bengal cat Pablo that I just had to give him a few "bengal" spots - what do you think?!? He was a very good model and lay very still - yes, you guessed it, "Lazy Cat" Pablo was fast asleep!!!!

The DP is from my stash. The circles were cut with my Nesties using some pink card and some Co-Ordinations Whitewash Card, also from my stash - I love the subtle shading of the Whitewash card.
The lace and rose are from my stash, and the other flowers are by Prima.
Anyway, thanks for dropping by. Hope you like it.

No 1 Dad

Hi Everyone

Today I can post the card that I made for Hubby on Father's Day - couldn't do it before as he takes a great interest in my blog, which is really nice. He was invaluable when I was setting up my blog - what a fab Hubby I have!!!

So here it is....
A wallet card.
I used plain brown card stock and trimmed it slightly larger than a real wallet. I then cut another piece slightly smaller and another smaller again.
I sponged both sides of all the card with Espresso Adirondack Ink. I also used this to ink the edges. I drew some faux stitching around the edges.
I used my Nesties to cut an oval in the smallest piece and stuck some acetate behind the oval. I then fixed a photograph of the boys behind this.

I made a pocket by cutting a small rectangle, which I inked & faux stitched as above. I used a circle punch to punch out a semi circle at the top and then stamped on a gold flourish. I stuck this in place using strong double-sided tape.
I made a ticket using the "No 1 Dad" Stamp and a hole punch and popped this in the small pocket.

I fixed all of the pieces together using strong double sided tape.
I stamped and embossed "No 1 Dad" on the front bottom right hand corner.
To finish it off, the boys wrote their own special messages on blank ATC's and we put these inside the wallet with some money.
Hope you like it - Hubby did!!!!
Thanks for dropping by.

Sugar Nellie Blog Hop

Hi Everyone

Welcome to
Sugar Nellie’s very first Blog Hop to promote the release of the new Duda Daze Stamp range designed for Sugar Nellie by the ever so talented Diane Duda.

If you like the stamps you see on the hop, they can be purchased HERE.

If you’ve hopped to me from
Kat at “having a {me} day”, then you’re on the right track, but if not then head on over to the official start of the hop at Sugar Nellie.

My Duda Daze Stamp is entitled Bashful, and I have to say she’s lovely - I can't wait to see the others!!!

I’ve two cards to show you:
For this one I’ve stamped the image using Pitch Black Adirondack Ink and coloured her using my Copic Ciao Markers.

The papers and lace are from my stash.

I made the lollipop flower following a tutorial which you can find at
The Next Level.

The carrot charm is also from my stash – it’s amazing what you can find if you look really hard lol!!

Here’s my second card.
I've used my Copics again for this one and I’ve also used a blue Sakura Glitter Pen to colour the centre of the flowers on her dress.

The DP is from the Basic Grey “Blush” range, and the blue pearl card is from my stash.

The paper flowers are from Papermania as are the blue adhesive stones.

I hope you like what I’ve created using this new stamp.

Now, if you hop on over to
Judith at Poppy Cottage, I’m sure she has some wonderful things to show you.

Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the rest of your hop.

One Card Two Challenges!!

Hi

My card today is for the Roses on Paper and Friday Sketchers Challenges.

Over at Roses on Paper, the challenge is "A Combined Challenge, Incorporating Flowers!" with the brief "to seek out and participate in another blog's challenge AND be sure to incorporate FLOWERS as part of our own challenge's requirement!"

Friday Sketchers have this fab sketch this week:

Here's my card:

I used the Tilda with Hood stamp from Magnolia and coloured her with my Copics. I used some white Woodware Fluffy Stuff for the trim and some black Papermania Adhesive Stones for her buttons.

For the flowers in her basket I used some Vintage Christmas Flower Soft and a little red glitter (it looks a little dark in the photos, sorry!).
The DP is from my stash, as is the ribbon and the red & black flowers are some I bought from Hobbycraft.
I used my nesties to cut the plain & scalloped ovals and I inked the edges of the plain one with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Fired Brick.

I think I've covered the flower critera for Roses on Paper, don't you lol!!!
Hope you like it.
Thanks for dropping by.

Anyone For Cake?

Hi there, hope you're all enjoying the sunny weather.

My card today is for two challenges:
The Next Level & Just Magnolia.

Over at The Next Level they have their first Sketch Challenge, and at Just Magnolia the challenge is Paper Piecing.

Here's my card:

And a close up of the image:

I used the Magnolia "Tilda with Cake" stamp, coloured her with my Copics and paper pieced her dress.
The DP is Basic Grey Euphoria Rhapsody, this is the only DP I used on this card, I thought it was nice to keep it simple and tie everything together.

The ribbon and jewelled brads are from my stash (they are all the same shade of green by the way - though they don't look it in the photo!!!).
The card is also from my stash, it is a lovely double-sided shimmery burgundy and looks just perfect with the DP.

Hope you like it.

The papers and sentiment are from a selection I have on my computer, although unfortunately I don't know where they are originally from.

The "Dad" charm is from my stash, as are the brads.

I am going to enter it for the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge "Fabulous Fathers!".

Thanks for dropping by and leaving your comments, they are always gratefully received.

Viking Invasion!!!

Hi Everyone

UPDATE

Edward won his Viking Boat Race!!!

His Long Ship reached the finishing line in just 13 seconds!!!

He won a lovely book called "Step Into The Viking World"

Well Done Edward

XXX

Today I wanted to show you what my Son, Edward has been up to.

At school, his class have been learning all about the Vikings and the big "Topic Finale" is to have a boat race.

To enter the race he first has to make a boat and, with a little help from "super" daddy, he has made a brilliant Viking Long Ship.

I am really proud of him. He has worked so hard on this today, colouring, cutting and sticking.

Well done Edward!!!

Hope you like it too.

Thanks for dropping by.

Puppy Love

Hi everyone - still enjoying the sunshine I hope.

Today, I've got a card for the Just Magnolia Challenge Blog. This week's theme is Animals & Insects.

Here's what I've made...

And a close up...

I used three Magnolia stamps on this card; Tilda with Puppy, Rufus the Dog and Tilda's Mure.

I've coloured them using my Copics, of course!! I also put some Flower Soft in the grass at the bottom of the mure, to give it a summer flower look. (My photos are a bit dark, sorry - but it does look like summer flowers, honest!!!)

The flowers are Papermania, with spacers and brads in the centres, and the DPs are from my stash.

Anyway, hope you like it.
