Field trips with Autumn

Autumn had a very exciting week at school. 2 days of field trips. Tuesday we headed to Albertsons for a tour of the store.

All the kids got to scan items at the check-out stand-Autumn scanned cheetoes!

We got to go into the big storage freezer in groups of 4. It was so cold in there-and there was a lot of ice cream!!

In the meat department we got to meet a fishy friend-a big lobster! We learned that they turn bright red when you cook them.

In the produce department we all got to try dfferent fruits. Autumn really enjoyed the watermelon.

At the deli we were served fried chicken-it was so good Autumn had 2 pieces.

We also got to try cereal and orange juice, and at the bakery they made the class a big giant chocolate chip cookie monster!! It was such a fun field trip!!!

On Wednesday we loaded up with 4 buses worth of students from our school and headed off to Temescal Canyon High School to see the play "Peter Pan". Autumn was so excited-she loves the movie "Peter Pan"-she watched it everyday for months!

The theater was packed to the gill with students!

The high school students did such a great job-they even had Peter, Wendy, John, and Michael flying around on stage. And the best scene was when the Lost Boys and Indians did this drumstick dance-Autumn loved it!!

Afterwards we got to meet the cast outside on our way back to the busses-Autumn's class got a picture with the pirates and Wendy.

And Autumn got to get a picture with her favorite character Wendy!!

It was so much fun going on the field trips with Autumn and her class. Not a bad way to spend 2 days of school!!

Trampoline and X-rays

Now I knew by getting a trampoline we were asking for trouble-who knew it would be in the first few weeks of having it though! While jumping on a Monday night with the cousins Autumn was popped off by Austin and hurt her right arm. She was able to move everything and it looked alright so we decided to let it be and see how she did over the week. On Thursday we went to Disneyland with some friends and while holding hands with Hailey she would occasionally scream out in pain and cry. Well, that didn't seem like a good sign so Paul and I took her to Urgent Care Friday and got the arm x-rayed. She had a "buckle fracture", a small sliver on her wrist bone area. It wasn't restricting the use of her hand so they gave a a splint and told us to keep it wrapped up for 6 weeks. After showing Grandma Bills she got her a brace from work and she likes that much better than the ace bandage wrap. All in all she is handling it very well. She can still get wet and play and is able to take it off for baths. She was a little bummed that she couldn't have a pink or purple cast for her friends to write on, but we are so glad it was minor! We lucked out for sure!! Knocking on wood that our luck holds out!!

Fundraisers, Barn Animals and Pudding-OH MY!!!

Every opportunity we have to teach the kids charity we do! WE started our day off with a stop at a fundraiser for a friend's son who is suffering from a rare condition that causes his skin to blister horribly form contact. The kids for very concerned for him and were so glad and proud that they were able to help.

Upon arriving we ran into my Mom and hung out and walked the track with her.

We bought some tickets to play some games and try some booths. One the kids really enjoyed was the balloon animal booth. Autumn got a flower-which she kept smelling and saying it was beautiful!

Austin was able to get a bow & arrow! He really made them use their creativity to make it!!
On the way home form the fundraiser we stopped off at Tom's Farm and the kids went in the petting zoo.

Austin really got a kick out of all the baby goats and became quickly attached to a little black one.

Autumn gravitated to the piglets. She said they reminded her off Wilbur from "Charlotte's Web".
With a bunch of time on our hands we came up with a silly way to pass it! Painting with chocolate pudding. Since Kayla is deathly allergic to milk she swung in her swing and watched the craziness!!

They began pretty clean and mild and quickly became extremely excited and went nuts.

The end result was hilarious and yummy all at the same time!!

Just another wacky fun filled weekend with the Chase Clan!!
