New couch

This is the old couch. It has one of the pieces of fabric I was considering to reupholster it with. But I decided on a different brown. More plain.

Here's the couch done in the new fabric. I love it! It almost looks green, but it's brown! But it needs some accents!

I made some pillows, arm and headrest covers to spice it up. I think they turned out good! The pillows have the same material as the arm covers, so I can use either side.

More upclose so you can see the colors better. I had almost given up on finding some material I liked. One morning after going to the temple I decided to try again and walked in and there they were! Finally! Went into Joanns and they had the pillow forms on sale! Wahoo! I needed some trim and went to the little Joanns by us and there it was! Just the right amount and on sale too! I love it when you can find stuff you need! When you need it! And on sale! It's all coming together! Even have a piece of carpet we can use as a rug that will match! Just need to get the edges sewn. And the doors painted - don't like the blue from the old color scheme. Change is good!

Christmas 2011

This is one of the best parts of Christmas! After eating the good food it's time for presents!

Ready? Set! Go!

And then dessert! Yum! Yum! Strawberry Crepes!

We hope everyone had a great Christmas! We enjoyed the Christ centered messages in Sacrament meeting. I must say our ward choir was amazing. We opened our mouths to sing the first song and I was immediately taken aback. Where was all that sound coming from! Our choir loft was full of people, but it sounded like more were singing! It was beautiful! It was a wonderful morning. Then we had lunch and opened gifts and had dessert and then everyone left to go to their in-laws and it was silent again. I got the best gift a mother can get - one of my out-of-town kids actually lied to me and surprised me and the rest of the family by coming! Dallon drove from Utah Friday and came through the door around 7 pm! Total surprise! Made my Christmas brighter. It's kind of boring when you don't have any little kids at home anymore! Different stage of life. Waited 20 years for it and don't like it very much now that it's here! But I am getting use to it and it's not like I don't have grandkids who live near by! Thank heaven for them! But it is nice when they leave too! The holidays are just better with little children around!
Merry Christmas!
