Live Life to the Fullest

Bird is the Word - New Challenge Word **COURAGE**
Following Heather's sketch I created a page about my dad. How courageous he was, not only fighting in WWII but bringing up 2 girls at an age when most men are ready to retire. I have folded the journaling so it is hard to read but this is what it says:
" My beautiful Father Major Peter Tomlinson. Not only showed courage in WWII but at the age of 59 he had two baby girls to keep him busy. Love you Dad..."
Thank you so much for taking the time to have a look at my page.

Love

Another freaking scrappy challenge- 15th June Sketch Challenge

To end my month of scrapping I had a go at this challenge, another blog site I have never visited before. I saw the page that Lizzy Hill created for this challenge and thought I would also give it a go. I have replaced the stars with floral hearts that have been masked with texture paste and the sun has become a large flower that I created using a mask, mists and patterned paper. The photo is of my daughter Kate at Swane's Nursery in Dural, taking some time out from exploring the gardens.

Thanks for the challenge and all the wonderful DT pages  for some added inspiration.Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog.

Sweet Pickings

CSI #77

I have got into my routine again of doing the CSI challenges weekly, lets see how long I can keep going for.
I really enjoyed creating this page, I think it was such lovely experience to have with the family that while doing this page it bought back all the happy memories of the day.

Thanks for taking the time to have a look.

BUZZ

Life.Paper.Scrapbook. June Sketch Challenge.

Came across this scrapbooking blog last week and thought I would give the sketch challenge a go. Nice simple sketch to use, with so many possibilities. I have used photos of my oldest son Aidan when he was only 4. I cannot explain why these cute photos have not been scrapped before, he is turning 12 next month!
The colours and some of the details a bit hard to see due to the lack of natural light on this cold and wintry day. I have used silver thread coming from the space man's hand pulling the stars along the top.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my page. Here is a link back to life.paper.scrapbook to see some of the pages.

Giddy Up

CSI

Here is my page that I created to solve the case. It is of Kate and the first time she got on a horse. We didn't think she would do it, but our brave Kate got on and had a wonderful time.
Have been able to fit all the criteria in, fantastic colour palette, circles, sun and trees are here and I used the word "day" as a journaling prompt.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and have a look.

Rock Climbing

Scrap The Girls - June Challenge

winter is here! Cold days, rain, snow for some, beanies, coats, gumboots and comfort food.

So the Scrap the Girls challenge for June is

WINTER COLOURS
e.g. brown, blue, red, orange, green, no pastels, no brights

Here is the page that I have created for this challenge. It is of Kate climbing the rocks at Remarkable Rock on Kangaroo Island.  It was an amazing place to visit, the colours of the rocks and their formations made us so in awe of nature. I have used a winter palette of browns, oranges and an icy teal/grey.

Thanks for taking the time to have a look at my page.

Giggle

Scrap Around the World - Challenge 2 - June

What a lovely mood board and sketch. It gave me a retro feel with the colours and the old cameras used, however still very feminine with the soft pink rose. Also was inspired by the stencil on the wall for my title and flower background.
I have used a photo of me taken when I was 1 year old to recreate this retro/ eclectic feel.

Puggy Love

CSI No:74

I missed a couple of these in the past weeks, scrapbooking slowed down a bit, family life and we had to put down our 17 pug. So it was nice to do this page about my sister and her relationship with our pugs while we were little. While we were growing up we were very lucky to have 2 lovely dogs to play with, Toby and Sam.
I have all the colour scheme. Evidence I have used flowers, lace and metal(Pins). I also used some thread a wove a bit of the lace.
The Testimony is about the memory of my sister and her love of their bed!.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my page.

Cat Woman

Bird Is The Word - He/She  Him/Her

Lots of scope here with the word and what a great sketch Heather has created for us, I chose to use it.
Here is my page of Kate and Cat Woman at Movie World last Year. " She was so mesmerising the way that she looked at Kate" It was truly amazing to watch the way that Cat Woman took  Kate's hand and just stroked it so gently.
Thank you for taking the time to have a look at my page.

Kangaroo Island

ARTastic :Environmental June inspiration ...

World Environment Day is celebrated June 5th, so in honour of this day I thought we might all participate in a challenge with a difference.
Introducing Robin's Nest by environmental artist  Susan Schenk.

Criteria - the use of recycled material to feature prominently on your work (ie minimal commercial products).  Hint - think ephemera and recycled items

Here is my page that I created. The recycled products that  I used are a  brown paper bag from Typo and pages from an old encyclopaedia that I got in an op shop. The string came from another piece of packaging that I just kept , in case... The page is of my 3 children enjoying the natural wonders of Kangaroo Is in South Australia. What an amazing holiday it was. We were able to celebrate the amazing environment that we have here in Australia and reminded that we  should never take it  for granted.

So please join us this month and help celebrate World Environment Day and do your bit for recycling. Have a look at our DT pages for some extra inspirations.
