Winter Veggies

November Artastic Challenge:

Our November inspiration ... comes to you by the very talented fabric artist Kay D. Haerland with her gorgeous art quilt Under the Canopy. (yes people, this is a quilt!!).

Additional criteria - fabric and stitching

What an amazing quilt, and what a great inspiration  to work with this month.
I thought I would srcap my winter veggie patch. Used squares like on many quilts and added some die cut veggies like Kay has added her butterflies. I did get my sewing machine out for this and used a piece of fabric like a piece of pp.

Kate- Imagine

Amazing Race - South America - Brazil

The criteria to be include on your layout for this country are as follows:
1 .Use drops/splashes of something on your page to represent the beautiful waterfalls of Brazil
2. Use a flag of some sort to join in with the Soccer mania of Brazil
3. Use some bling to get dressed up for Carnavale celebrations.

• The pp I had already had a few splashes, I added a few moe with some glittermist.
• I made a little flag with Kate's name on it.
• I used kindyglitz on the butterflies I made, I put glitter on a chipboard swirl and added some gold studs around the title.

The photo is of Kate at this years Buddy Walk, raising money for children with Down Sydrome. When we first started to support this walk we were pushing her in a pram! How times flies!

Luggage lost, have to wait at the airport, time for some duty free shopping. Better grab a bottle of my favourite Gin. Nothing better on a hot summers night, a good old Gin and Tonic!

2. Layered embellies - to represent the colosseum
3. Off centre and angled - just like the leaning tower of pisa

Purple Pumpkin October Sketch Challenge

This hasn't been one of my better months for scrapping, my scrapbooking desk has been a bit neglected lately but a month could not go by where I do not do the purple pumpkin challenge. I was able to use a beautiful photo of Kate that I took on our recent trip to Kangaroo Island. Here face says it all, we all had a wonderful time there.

Went a bit vintage with some beautiful purple pumpkin buttons and doileys.  I was also able to use some beautiful crochet flowers and butterfly that my good friend Heather made.

Here is my page for this stop, another 1970's vintage page of my sister and me dressing up in our Hawaiian costumes in the back yard.
