The joy of mothers

I am posting today about how wonderful my mother is. She is such an amazing example to me and how I desire to be as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. I am not always the nicest daughter and lose my patience too much. She is always so kind to me and I want her to know how much I love her and how sorry I am for the stupid things I say and do. She is the most perfect person I know and I promise to be better to her from now on because the best mother in the world deserves a better daughter. Mom I LOVE YOU!

Vigorously serves others

Energetically shares her love for everyone

Righteous member of the church

Optimistic and happy

Never complains, even when she deserves too

Independant in every way

Caring for her friends and family

Always putting up with her stubborn daughter :)

The many colors of Laurel

Okay so the past few months I have been changing my hair and I absolutely love today's color, despite what my mother says. So here are the many colors of Laurel:
Today's Hair-very dark

Yesterday's Hair-very red
Christmas Time-very blonde
Now my mom is asking for your help to save her baby from going down the path I have wandered down. Jocelyn wants to go dark and my mom is doing all she can to talk her out of it because she doesn't like my hair, but hey color is a lot easier to change than length right!

American Idol Season 7 Girls

After another night of American Idol, a few girls have stood out of the crowd.

Of course I will be a little homer because I love this "good girl".

She has an amazing voice and I absolutely love her hair!

She is adorable and has such a powerful voice!

I do have to note a girl that bugs me for some reason and Simon agrees with me on this one!

I shouldn't be rude, but she rubs me wrong...As Simon likes to say "you think you are better than you really are!"

I know my last post was all about T.V., but I can't help to make a post about American Idol. Even Brady has grown to like American Idol. Here are my favorite three boys after last nights performances:

David Archuleta - So sweet and humble!
Michael Johns - Great voice!

Jason Castro - Needs to cut his hair and really entertaining!

Check out my Slide Show!

Brady Mock

Steph and I were pretty nervous each time Brady went to the floor in his basketball game.
I was proud of my husband's hustling in his basketball game, but he was pretty stinky after. But wow he even still looks HOT!

Brady's best basketball skill is drawing fouls and going to the foul line!

Sometimes I feel my husband is down on the floor more than playing basketball! Andrew's always there to pull him back up!

Happy Valentines Day for my sweet husband, Brady. Anyone who knows me knows I have worshipped BRADY MOCK since I was eleven years old when I saw him for the first time on stage in a teeny little rag. Then when I was thirteen Brady entered my life again and has luckily never left. I have always loved him and am grateful to have the opportunity to spend eternity with him! His life is very busy right now and no one is jealous of our situation. While Greg and Emily were down this weekend, they couldn't believe that he was at the school 12 hours straight on a Saturday. That is just every other day for us. We did get to see each other last night for a little while because his night class was canceled, but it was more of me watching him then us being together. Above are some snapshots of our night.

Laurel as a Mother....:)

Well.. no I am not pregnant, but I did get to be a mother over the weekend while Emily and Greg were visiting from Idaho. I met Brady for dinner on Saturday night and surprised him by bringing Crew with me. I could see the fear in Brady's eyes when we sat down with our food and Crew started crying. I won't deny the nervousness I felt realizing I was the one responisble for the crying baby. After five minutes of bouncing Crew while Brady ate, Crew fell asleep and stayed asleep the rest of the night. Dinner was a learning experience and despite the nerves, I loved every minute of it. I grasped a little more understanding of parents worry as I was responsible for a baby. Crew is a little angel, but I was worried the whole car ride and dining experience for Crew's well being. At one point in the ride Crew fell asleep and I was so worried he had stopped breathing that I had to shake his arm to wake him up. He of course didn't like that and cried a little, but I would rather hear his cry then worry by chance he spit up in his mouth and stopped breathing. Brady laughed at my worries that were unlikely going to happen, but I love Crew so much I would be sick if anything happened on my watch. I hope I can be an amazing mom like Emily is to her boys. I have had great examples of wonderful mothers in my life including my mother, grandma char, my sister in laws, leslie, and my aunts.

Prison Break

Greg and Emily have repeatedly tell everyone how great the T.V. show Prison Break is. While Brady was in Peru for his medical mission he found Prison Break season 1 and 2 for very cheap on DVD. I have been addicted for the past month to this show. Greg and Emily are right that this is a great show and I would recommend it to all of you. I love the cast because most were unknowns to me and play their parts well. The main character is cute which is a plus and for the men, Brady thinks the female doctor is cute too so it is a win win situation. It is one of the few shows Brady and I watch together and enjoy.

The Joy of Children

Kendell
Braylie, Kasen, Adelyn
Kaylee
Crew
Cannon
Colton
Everyone who knows me can atest to the point that I am dying to have a baby. I have always loved kids and the more nephews and nieces that come, the more I feel it is my time. Well Brady has another idea. Luckily my nephews and nieces are my saving grace. Greg and Emily are on their way down for the weekend and I can't wait to hold their three little boys in my arms! I love all the little Mock kids too and can't wait for two more to come this spring! Children are a gift from God and they teach me so much. They testify of what Christ taught and that is that we need to become as children!

First Post

I laugh at my mother and sister for how much time they spend on their blogs, yet I don't go a day without checking them. My sweet husband thought it would be a good idea to start a blog. He thinks it will come to use in the future when we are thousands of miles away with little kids growing up fast. That seems so far away and yet I was filling out his med school apps today! So here we go....bear with me!
