Thank you to all of my new followers for joining me this month. Head on over to the Clear it Out Challenge blog to see if you are a winner!
It's a brand new year and I am so excited that my self imposed rule 'use what you have', is coming to a close-yahoo! I have a few gift cards in my pocket that I need to spend-lol. Having said that I can almost see the bottom of my first scrap bucket (yes, I said first).
Anywho, at the Clear it Out Challenge we are to use something textured on our cards. The sponsor is the totally awesome Bugaboo Stamps. The stamp I chose was a freebie Lil kitty on a limb it is free til Thursday so grab it while you can!
I originally chose to make a felt paw print but it didn't seem to work right with the card-on the outside. I plan to put it on the inside corner. So for texture I added layers, popped up the kitty, added buttons, and added grossgrain ribbon. I used copics to colour my kitty, butmay go back and blend it more after seeing it on here ;)
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget you have one week to email me if your a winner to claim your prizes!

Hambo hoedown time!
It's the last challenge of the year at the Hambo Hoedown and it's anything goes.
using the brand new digi called Bailey Christmas, I created this card
I used up some Christmas paper scraps, and chalked the edges of my card. I coloured Bailey with my copics and added glitter. I also added some gems to the corner.
Thanks so much for visiting me this year. I do hope you've become a follower. I have tried to follow you back and leave comments throughout the year. It's been a pleasure getting to "know" you all

Catch the bug take 2
Two posts in one day ,oh my! It's my second take on the Bugaboo challenge here at Catch the Bug Challenge Blog.
On the tic tac board this round I chose to use Distress, red and green, and a Bugaboo image.
This is also my oops card....
The squares were meant to be the same size ...BUT it didn't happen that way! So, because I can't throw it out, (blame it on the Scottish frugal-ness in me) I decided to see how I could make it work. I actually like this one better.
The candy cane bear is glittered and all the edges of the patterned paper are distressed using SU ink.
The sentiment is a rub on from Making Memories (I'm certainly getting good mileage with that pack!!)
Merry Christmas everyone :)

Catch the bug challenge time
Head on over to the Bugaboo's Catch the Bug challenge blog for a game of tic tac toe!
I had a last few cards to make and I used this challenge as my inspiration. The three elements I chose to use were Border, Flower, Pearls
I glittered her wings and the flower poinsettia to add some sparkle. The sentiment is a rub on from Making Memories. Stay tuned to my next post on what to do when you screw up big time and cut one of the squares the wrong size....lol
Have a fantastic day!

It's Hambo Time!
Hello to all the new peeps following along :) So glad you are here!
To see why you should become a follower click here , lots of prizes to be won. Woot, Woot!
This week at the Hambo Hoedown the challenge is to make an easel card. I knew when I saw the challenge what I had it mnd. My son just completed Karate this week and I wanted to make him a card. He struggled through it, but in the end was able to complete the classes :) I am so proud of him.
I used the digi image from Hambo Stamps called 'Wee Henry Karate'
I coloured up Wee Henry with copics and popped him up. His little ribbon says 'I did it'-perfect for how proud my son felt when he passed.
I didn't need to use anything to keep the top section up as the layer of vanilla seems to be holding it up.
Thanks for stopping by :)

Digi Darla
As some of you know I have 3 children under 8. Life can sometimes get crazy busy. I try and take some 'mommy time' to make my cards but it seldom goes without interruption. Even though daddy may be home, mommy can do things daddy can't (at least that's the way they see it!)
Which brings me to my card. I made this Christmas card for the Digi Darla Challenge Blog 'snow fun with bling'. As I created this card I was pulled away at every step. Every step. Those kids of mine have radar that goes off every time I go into my craft room. Seriously!
I looked over my card and thought I definitely have the bling (on her hat, cuffs and boots). BUT, I was so upset I didn't remember the snow...or so I thought.
Take a peak at that green paper! Yep, snowflakes! Score :) So I can offically enter this into the challenge.
I think I may go back and add some versa mark snowflakes up top, if I get a chance to sneak away :)
Have a great night!

MelJen's Challenge Time
It's anything goes over at MelJen's Challenge Blog.
This week I chose to use an oldie but goodie called 'baby shower'. I just love this image, it's so fun to colour :)
Here is my baby shower card for an upcoming boy shower
The background paper I've had for over a year, bought from Micheals. The brown ribbon is SU, the digi is coloured with copics.
I added sparkles to the umbrella and diaper. Which got me to thinking, if you had all the money in the world, would you put bling on your baby's diaper?
Yep, random odd thoughts today-lol.
Have a great day :)
ps-still lots of time to enter into the Clear it Out Challenge and wins some goodies!

If you missed the giveaway news you can check it out here
This week at the Hambo Hoedown, it's time to make a masculine card. This is perfect as I need to make a Christmas card for my brother. I used the digi stamp by Hambo called 'Anta Claus', here is my card
In the photo I added 'brother' in photoshop to give you an idea as to where I will be putting his name. I coloured the ant with copics, and used my chalk marker to add dots to the digi's ribbon. The snowflake and ribbon are from Stampin' Up (old stash). The rub on sentiment is from Making Memories. Thanks for stopping by :)

It's Hambo Time!
Head on over to the Hambo Hoedown blog to take part in this weeks challenge -C.A.S.E a card from their Pinterest board.
It was hard to chose just one but this is the one I picked (here is the link).
I loved how clean and simple it was.
Here is my card using the digi 'Bailey Cupcake' by Hambo Stamps.
The colours look really bright here but the cardstock is a darker blue. I chalked the edges, created the paper bow and popped up the image. The sentiment I wrote on the computer.
Thanks for popping by :) Have a great day!

Clear it Out Challenge
This is the second week over at the Clear it Out Challenge to use up your ugly papers.
I've had this plaid paper for quite some time. In fact, it's so old it is actually faded on one side. So this was perfect for this challenge! Here are my two cards
I cut out the poinsetta twice and popped it up, added stickles and some pearls. I think by adding the pearls it took away from the paper-lol. Here is a tip I learned : When you are popping up an image colour the bottom digi a dark grey. This not only makes it look nice but in fact adds a shadowing effect if slightly offset.
There is one week left to play at the Clear It Out Challenge blog. Hope to see you there :)
p.s. you may want to become a follower of my blog, big surprises are in store for next week!!

It's challenge time!
This week at the Hambo Hoedown our challenge is Burlap.
Well, I searched high and low and could not for the life of me find anything with burlap! I took to the web, Googled burlap, and I found a great photo I could use.
I felt the digi from Hambo Stamps called 'Cactus' would compliment the burlap well. The card background is one from my stash. I am so excited that I have stuck to my 'use what I have' motto this year, but can't wait til it ends-lol. My poor credit card will be smoking come 2013-lol

I was needing a little inspiration this morning to get started on my Christmas cards. As I was going through my card file I realized I have not kept a lot of my photos. But I' thought I'd post a few that I have found that may inspire you too :)

Hambo Hoedown Time!
It's party time at the Hambo Hoedown as they celebrate Tim's birthday! Tim is the illustrator of the adorable images from Hambo Stamps. Happy Birthday Tim!
This week the challenge was to use 1) burned edges or the soot technique or 2) check board or gingham patterns.
I chose to use the check board pattern originally, then went off to try burnt edges. Well, I nearly burned the house down (or so my kids thought-lol) So if you try it out be careful!!
The image I used was called 'Toaster' by Hambo Stamps. I love the retro feel of the digi. I felt the paper I chose complimented it :)
Originally I was trying to burn the cardstock into a bread shape. Ya know, because I think I can control fire-lol. Clearly it didn't work. So I just went with the shape it took on it's own.
Not sure I would so this technique in a card again as the soot leaves marks everywhere (and it stinks like smoke!)
Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend :)

Clear it Out Challenge Time
It's time to use up red supplies at the Clear it Out Challenge blog.
Sassy Studio is sponsoring us for an anything goes challenge.
I was given this image to use and I LOVE it!
This card has an insert so I could add a gift card inside for my son's teacher. To make it I simply took the width of the gift card and added about 1/4 inch (slightly wider than the width of my tape) to it. Taped all 3 sides and slide the card in. Voila, easy peasy. In the past I have used photo corners- that will hold it in place too.
I'd also like to enter this into the Digi Darla Challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

Hola! It's Hambo Hoedown time!
This week at the Hambo Hoedown it's retro 80's time. That's right, it's time to bust out the NEON!!
At the DYSU challenge, we are to use brads so I combined the two challenges :)
As you may know I am trying to use up my stash so I thought I was in trouble for this challenge, until I found some neon paper. Who knew it was lurking in my paper stash!
I used the Hambo Stamps Image 'Catcus'.
I ran my paper through the big shot and added dots to the background. The brads were added (yes I even found neon green brads!) Then I coloured it with my copics.

This week at the Hoedown we are to use hexagons. I frantically searched my stash to find anything hexagony-ish (is that a word? lol) I found this lovely paper and went to work.
I used the adorable digital stamp 'Bailey Flower by Hambo Stamps. '
So what is this wicked sale I speak of? Check it out here

Pollycraft Design your own stamp
A while back Jellypark asked it's followers to suggest a digi. If yours was picked you won the digi for free.
I had suggested making a person for a symapthy card. I often find when you look at the digi shops under 'sympathy' there are butterflies or birds, rarely sad looking people.
I'm not sure that is exactly what they were hoping for but guess what....
they chose my idea! Isn't she lovely? It also came with 3 sentiments; thinking of you, sending you a hug, and sorry to hear your news. Perfect.
So thank you very much Jellypark

It's Hambo Hoedown Time
It's time once again for another weekly challenge at the Hambo Hoedown! This week's challenge is to use their digi called 'Cells' and use circles.
I googled mason jars and found this clip art jar. I cut it out 3 times. Once in the shape of the card. Once for the blue card stock (with circles) and the third time with acetate. (which I might add is uber hard to photograph!)
I sponged the edges with blue ink, coloured the cells with copics and laid them under the acetate. I then added a ribbon and circle tag to complete the card.
It really does look cuter in person. I so need a new camera (hint hint Santa!)

The Gift Challenge
Head on over to the Clear it Out Challenge Blog cause it's time to showcase "the Gift'. Either use a gift digi on your card or showcase a gift/talent you have. I chose to make this card using an image from Melonheadz (who is the sponsor this week) and a SU flower I've had forever!
Nikki has several freebies on her blog and offers great sales/bundles. I highly recommend you visit.
So what is 'the Gift' I chose to make my card about?
My gift is being able to bring people together. Be it organizing events at school, helping others in need, or something as simple as running the challenge blog.
I've always been the 'go to' gal to organize and I'm always surrounded by people. You'd be surprise to know that I am deathly afraid of talking in large groups and prefer to be in the background. I enjoy seeing the smiles both from the people that participate and those that receive from their generosity. That is the 'gift' I feel God has giving me.
hugs

Digi Darla Fancy Folds
I was asked to come up with a creative idea for a birthday party favour for a 3 year old's party. I knew my friend wanted to give away earrings, but the question was how to give them away. She had yet to determine a theme.
Enter Digi Darla's fancy fold challenge! I was looking through my fancy folds tutorial file when I came across the perfect idea
I printed the pattern onto cardstock and made the box. I added twine with the thought my friend could hang these from a branch (or flower stem). I printed, coloured and glittered the butterfly digi from Digi Darla Designs. This is the perfect size to hold a pair of earrings. What do you think?
(please ignore my wonky bow, the glitter was still wet so I couldn't adjust it yet) Yes, I am a tad impatient-lol
Enjoy your weekend :)

It's Hambo Hoedown Challenge Time!
Well, I have a confession. The water colour challenge at the Hambo Hoedown scared me a bit. It's been a while since I used my aqua painter for good reason...
It's seen better days but, I was up for the challenge. I took out my much neglected Stampin' up ink pads and went to town. I actually found my frayed tip made some pretty neat flowers.
Here is my card for the challenge
I used the image 'Bailey' by Hambo Stamps, my favourite go to digi stamp. The sentiment is from (SU) and the papers, buttons, and thread is from my stash.
Thank you for stopping by!

Head on over to the Designed2Delight blog, Faith has started her progressive challenges again! Yeah :) I played along when she had them before and loved it! It's always fun to see what others do with the same image :)
Here is my card.
I popped up the pumpkins 3 x's, as well as, the owl. I wrote Whoo? several times. The inside reads "..is the best teacher evah? You that's whoo!" I'm sure my sons teacher will be cringing at my grammar-lol
I shaded the paper pieced pumpkins and coloured the owl with my Copic markers.
There is one week left to play along, so head on over to D2D and play along!
Have a fabulous day

Anything goes at Meljen's!
This week at MelJen's the challenge is anything goes! I needed to make a birthday card for one of my 4 nieces celebrating this month and came up with this.
This cute little image I won a while back on a blog hop MelJen's had. I just love it! The 'celebrate' is a rubon from Making Memories. I coloured her in with copic markers.
Thanks for popping in. Have a great day!

It's Hambo Hoedown Time!
It's a sparkling good time over at the Hambo Hoedown this week! Using the digi image from Hambo Stamps called Harvest Bunny I created this card.
He is popped up on dimensionals. I added a mask, sparkle to the pumpkins (and faces), a bow and used up a sentiment I had lying around for a while (I think it's from Stampin' Up) Thought I'd send this one in to a teacher for Halloween this year.
Thanks a bunch for stopping by. Have a happy turkey day :)

Progressive Challenge at the CDAC
I have been holding on to this card for a bit in hopes of being one of the 'stars' selected at the CDAC progressive challenge.
The image is from Doodle Pantry. I just love when an image makes me smile. I could (and will) be using this one a lot more in the future. Although I didn't become a 'star', I still love this card and thought I'd share it with you :)
I cut her our several times and popped her up with dimensionals. I printed her on a pink paper then shadowed her with my copics. Isn't she cute?
Thanks for stopping in, have a wonderful day!

Meljen's Funny Sentiment Challenge
Meljen's is sponsoring our blog Clear it Out, which is to use a child image. I paired that challenge with MelJen's challenge 'funny bone'. I chose to use the image Gruffy Little Gnome. I think this stamp is hilarious on it's own, but added the sentiment as per the challenge.
This card could work for so many occasions. It makes me giggle everytime I look at it :) Thanks for stopping by!

Hambo Hoedown Birthday card
It's time for another Hambo Hoedown Challenge! Zig Zags are all the rage and the challenge is to incorporate zig zags into your card. I paper pieced the Hambo image Bird Balloon for my card. I added some dots to the bottom of the chevron and popped it up.
Thanks for popping by, have a great Sunday!

Yee-Haw Great grandma's turning 90!
As we mourned the loss of my great-grandmother in-law today, I needed to make a card for my other grandmother in-law who is celebrating 90 years!
I chose to make this card so I could enter it into the Tiddly inks challenge -make it like ASA
Elements I chose to case inlcuded; flowers, blue/white background, and a square card. I don't usually make those. Here is my card
We use to run around as kids yelling' Yee Haw Grandma!" So I wrote that on the inside. I think she'll get a kick out of it! I know I giggled :)

Hambo Hoedown Challenge
So as you may have read on previous posts I am trying to use up my scraps.
Enter the ugly paper. I know you all have some. Some one may have given it to you, or you thought it might 'work' and bought it, but it never did. So there is sits....til now!
I have had this background paper for about 3 years. At least. Only this one small piece. I think I inherited it from a crop a while back. My best guess is the original owner 'accidentally' shoved in amongst my papers. Ya know, doesn't want to throw it out, can't figure out their own use for it, so they kindly passed it on to me ;)
Seriously, I have no idea where it came from and surprisingly no one has come to claim it!
So that would be where the Hambo Hoedown came into play this week. My gift would be using up what I have. I think it's the Scottish in me that has taught me to be frugal. This of course spills into my everyday life. For example, this week I saved 46% on my groceries using coupons :) Woot! Woot!
So here is my card using the Panda Gift image from Hambo Stamps

A Day for Daises Challenge
My second post today is to celebrate 100 days until Christmas! Yep, only 100 days :)
I always start my shopping early since we have so many to buy for. This year I lucked out and got my sister's name to buy for. She requested an assortment of cards.
I've decorated a really cute card box (I bought a while back) and now I'm just loading it up with cards :)
Here is a card I made for her. I used this image from A Day for Daisies to make it. The challenge calls for a tag on your project. I orginally was going go make it a tag, which then became an ornament. However, I didn't know if an ornament is considered a tag. So, I added the little tag that says 'On baby's first Christmas'
I think the little tag just made it cuter :0) The bow combined with the ornament popped up makes this a very dimensional card. I hope she likes it!
Thanks for stopping by.
P.s Pop on over and enter the challenge. There is a freebie on the blog if you don't have an ADFD image already.

MelJens' Challenge-Use your scraps
Hello! I hope my posting finds you enjoying this cool weekend. I started lugging out my children's fall clothes and now I cannot find my bed. Eek! I know it's under there somewhere....next time I should start earlier in the a.m.-lol. We've been fortunate to have many clothes given to us and my daughter is loving all her hand me downs. We are so blessed :)
My card today is for the scrap challenge over at MelJen's.
I had coloured up this little cutie before, with the intent to make a father's day card. That didn't happen-lol. Instead my sister asked for some children's b-day cards. So I made this
I used up some scrap papers I had in my "bucket-o-scraps". It seems like that bucket is never ending! I will say though my personal challenge of using up my supplies has been on track (minus a few Copic and tape purchases) The sentiment says 'happy birthday lil' man'
I think my card looks way cuter in person but unless you leave near by, this will have to do for you -teehee

Hambo Hoedown
It's splatter time at the Hambo Hoedown. Here is the card I made using the digi Mouse Painter.
I didn't have anything to splatter with! I tried my reinkers, my copics, nothing!! I didn't even have paint to use. So I took a silhouette off google and made my own splatter.
Thanks for stopping by!
