Hi everyone! I WILL post more when school is done. This year has just been out of control. Dave and I have been just running at all ends, and we are just ready for the year to end.
Just sticking in this post while on lunch break. I can because no one else is around to distract or ask questions, or.....

Girl Power 2 Cure events are going and will be ending soon. Thanks to all those that made these things happen.

Catching up!

Don't worry, Uncle Jeff's Harley wasn't running anyway.:)

I'm feeling rather behind, but with Facebook, it's easier to keep up. So I'll get a few things put on here for posterity.
School is still quite awesome for Laura. They are placing her more and more into the center of the kids for circle time and activities and letting her do her own thing without an adult hovering over her. She is on her second pair of glasses...who knows where the 1st pair went. The dog isn't' talking. So the above are a few updated pics from Christmas time to now. If only the computer would help and download faster!!
Sometimes, I can catch Laura in a conversation and jump in, ask questions and she'll answer. It's an awesome sight/sound. Changed to Keppra for seizures.....still having little petite seizures...I just believe she is thinking REALLY hard and therefore looks the part. While having one, she will smile when you say her name, and when coming out of it she will sometimes say syllables she hasn't said yet or is working on. Just weird.

Sleepover with Cristina/Maria Pappas

Laura has had quite the week, from bumps on the head to getting blood drawn to diving for french fries and getting a good gash/bruise above her left eye, which was from her glasses. The bump is healing pretty quickly and she had a great Thursday/Friday. Lots of looking around and trying to talk again. Not sure if the bump caused it or not:) We'll see the neuro regarding blood test results; we do not want to up the depakote (only 1x a day--not 2 like the doc wants) because we feel she is doing quite well. She's in great health, but mom and dad are now fighting the aches and pains of cold symptoms....always something.

Hello,
so we are dealing with the usual cold. hopeful it will not last too much longer. one whole week out of school! Not sure about Halloween for Laura this year. A surprise cold snap, so not sure we want to chance it. Dad is better and I'm trying to stay with it. Other than that we are all fine and staying busy.
We are waiting for her school pics to come out, then I'll post, if I can get the scanner to work. Need to get all of the technology working in the same era.
Below are a couple pics from Laura's OT sessions, the first day of school this year and cuddling with Dad today. How do you put pictures side by side? anyone?

Hi Eveyone,
Laura is gradually getting back to her old self. We started Depakote for Laura's seizures, and the second week we upped the dose like the doctor said to and Laura became quite angry, not happy, and had stomach issues. Poor Dad had to handle it in the car--Yuck! Anyway, we have the dose back down to once a day and that seems to be enough. She is giggling again and just a happy camper. At school she is using switches for Yes/No and for jobs she has in the class. She is going to her afternoon program, which was mainly just for respite, but now they have the instructor from Hungary back, Bea, for a 5 week Conductive Ed program. Laura is doing that from 2-5 pm and loves it! I think she really remembers Bea and everything they need to do. She is walking with a front walker fairly well, gaining more and more balance. (even without her AFOs) Other than that we are doing well and have not had colds of any kind. Hopefully that will continue!

She sleeps so soundly and just looks so cute. Can't help but take a few photos....
and then there was the EEG....will have our consultation Tuesday,
tommorrow. Will let you know what comes of it.

Don't know how this happened, but when I came back into the room,
Laura had this mouse on her glasses.....at least she is picking things up!

Buster, our dog, takes great pride in keeping Laura safe. He's so great with her,
eventhough we have found evidence of him sleeping in her bed......hmmm.

We are all well. Dave is on a two week break from EHS, but of course
his time will not go unplanned. UA Band Day is Saturday, so the band will "compete" and show off our new capes. (would have posted photos,
but can't seem to get my camera USB to work) Drumline received Superior with all
caption awards on Saturday at the AZPAS marching festival!! Yeah for them!!
Currently I'm working with student council to have the Powder Puff Football Game in the spring be a fundraiser for Rett Syndrome! Music, concessions, and a few good bruises:)
plus a few other events.....more later....

Will post more later with pics. Just too many things happening with the start of school and
all. Laura is doing well. We have been experiencing activity that has made have questions regarding seizures. We had an EEG done, then one week later she actually had a seizure. Lasted 2 minutes and since she has slept a lot--I think a growth spurt--and has not done as much of the drop attack business. I am suspicious that the stress of school and new schedules for all of us really took it's toll on her and it all just came to a end. But nevertheless we are having our second EEG done tomorrow morning. Only good thing is that it gets me out of teaching:)
