Vacation & Celebration

Kylie celebrated another birthday on April 3rd. She turned 14, yeah I said 14. We went up on Sunday the 5th to move hay, go see Grandpa and celebrate her birthday.

After a change in the date it was finally time for our annual vacation up to Pocatello, ID for the Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo. We always have a great time. The rodeo started Wednesday the 8th and ran until Saturday the 11, with five performances. Our time up there was spent at a rodeo every night, hot tubbing/swimming every night, shopping the day away and going to eat.

The kids always try and get all the queens autographs. They really scored while we where out shopping one of the days. A whole group of queens came in and they got a whole bunch all at once, and even some pictures.

They have a Cowboy Expo each year that we always go to, and usually come away with a few new things. Dad said that he'd done all the "shopping" that he wanted to do and headed for the truck. When we came walking out we looked down the parking lot and here was Dad sitting on the tailgate and Milly was sitting there. It was pretty dang cute. Milly saw me before I could get the picture taken, but I thought it still looked pretty cute.

For the last two years we have been up to Pocatello the week before Easter, even with the change of date this year. So we boiled some eggs before we went up and took the dye and dyed our eggs in our hotel room.

I hadn't taken my tripod so I had to make due. Unfortunately you can't see all the eggs, but we only did eight dozen since we where not at home.

We had a great time as always, and before we knew it it was time to come home. Back to reality!
I showed the pictures of Dad's smashed finger in my last update. You could tell that the new fingernail was starting to come in and the old nail was getting ready to fall off, it was just a matter of time. Well today it happened. Dad bumped his finger at work and off came the old nail. He said it hurt really bad! Here's what his finger looks like now.
And just because I think it looks really weird, here's what the inside of the old fingernail looks like.

The weather has been on the wet side of spring this last week. It's supposed to be a nice weekend so hopefully we can get out and enjoy the weather.

April Fool's...Oh wait I really did update!

It's been way to long since I have updated my blog, so I'm just going to hit the highlights of what's been happening.
On the 21st of February we left early in the morning for Myton. We (Dad, Mom and I) meet up with David, Stacey, Paul, Laura, Kylie, Brody, Bridger, Gilbert(Stacey's dad) and Brian(the guy from the preserve) to go pheasant hunting at Pleasant Valley Hunting Preserve. We got to the spot that we would be hunting at about 9 and headed off.
Dad and I - and Gilbert's dog
We had been hunting for about 45 minutes. Having great success, and then it happened. This was Milly's first hunting trip and she wasn't too sure about what was going on. We had her on a leash because we weren't sure how she was going to handle all the action. Well needless to say Milly got lose and off she went. I ran after her as fast and I could but she was gone!! To put it lightly I FREAKED!!! The search began. Mom and I started dog hungting while everyone else kept pheasant hunting. We searched and yelled and prayed more times than I could keep track. We had covered the area I don't know how many times and no sign of Milly. Around 4 we still hadn't found her. I was starting to get really worried, the sun was getting ready to set and I didn't know what I was going to do. I couldn't leave my puppy dog out there for who knows what to get. I HAD to find her. I called Mom and told her that I thought we needed to head out to the road and see if she'd gone out of the preserve area. Everyone other then Dad, Mom and I had gone back to the lodge to get all the birds cleaned. See the picture below, the pheasant hunt was a success. As they left the lodge they all divided up and where going to go to the different corners and areas of the preserve to help look. As Gilbert was taking Dave up to the head of the wash for him to come down Stacey looked on the other side of the road, about 300 hundred yards off the road and said what is that? It looked like a spot of snow, so Stacey grabbed the binoculars and saw what she thought was Milly. Dave and Stacey got out and headed towards it and all my many prayers where answered. It was Milly. Her leash had got wrapped around some brush and she was stuck. It was about quarter to 5 when we got the phone call that they had found her!! I don't think I have ever felt so relieved and happy to have my Milly girl back.
Here's the PHEASANT hunting crew. From L - R - Belle, Paul, Rex, Stacey, Brian, Laura, David, Brody, Kylie, Bridger and Dad.
No pictures where taken of the DOG hunting crew, I had done too much crying for any pictures.
Time for a celebration. Grandpa Bisel turned 84 on March 7th, so Dad, Mom, Paul, Laura, and kids and I got together with Grandpa and Rob and had a little birthday party.

Grandpa's kids got together on Sunday the 8th to celebrate at Aunt JoDe's house.

When Friday the 13th falls in back to back months you know that something bad it bound to happen on one of them. Mom had planned to go up to Woodland for the weekend to stay with Grandpa. Aunt JoDe had called and asked if she would take her to the airport and then drive her car up to Woodland. So Mom figured she might as well since she was going up there any way. So about quarter to five Mom took off. Well she got to the mouth of Parley's and the clutch went out on the car. After a couple hours worth of phone calls and figuring out to do with the car Dad and I went to go pick her up and take her to Woodland. When we got the her and went to get out of the car Dad smashed his finger in my car door.

We went back up on Sunday to pick her up and Paul's family came down to Grandpa's so Amber, Brody, Bridger and I ventured around the place taking all sorts of pictures. I didn't have my nice camera, just my point and shoot, but still managed to get a couple of cute shots.

Here is Dad's finger a week later.

Paul and his family came down on Saturday the 21st and the wind was blowing in a storm, but it made it a great day to fly kites. The school yard is a perfect place and so close to home!

Miss Emma Jane had her 6th birthday on the 25th!! Unforunately we haven't been able to make it over there to celebrate with her. Good thing we will get to see her when we go to Pocatello. And then we'll have to make a trip over in the near future!

On Saturday the 28th it was so nice out and the apricot tree was popping with popcorn blossoms.
The very next day it had turned into popcorn snowballs on the apricot tree!

Here's to April, and hopefully I can return to my blogging.
