Just how...

Just how is August almost over? Seriously, we have been a lot less busy. But the month has still managed to slip right on by. We got home from the family reunion on Sunday the third, and it was off to work Monday morning and then back up to Kamas as soon as we got done with work to haul hay. We hauled hay, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights, but we got it done! It is so nice to know that it is done!

Mom and Dad went up to Woodland on Saturday the 9th to spend some time with Grandpa. One of his minatures had had a colt. They are so cute when they are just little like this one.

Dad, Baby Colt and Grandpa

When Mom and Dad got home we headed out to South Jordan to go to Draft Horse Pulls at the Salt Lake County fair. The storm you see past the flag had just passed over us. It really put it down. Luckily we were in the covered bleachers, but the track got real nasty.

We have been taking it pretty easy. Once the Olympics started it seemed like every night we could we would sit and watch them into the wee hours of the morning. They sure pulled through with some real excitment. We really enjoyed watching them.

Dad's class had decided to try another attempt at Bald Mountain since the snow stopped them about halfway up a couple months ago. So Kylie, Brody and myself joined in. We had such a good time. The hike was just amazing and the scenery is just breath taking. I had hiked up there when I was eight, but I think I was a lot more observant this time around. Of course I was snap happy as always, I just can't help myself. I was SO happy with how the pictues turned out. I couldn't pick, so I just put them all into a slide show. Hope you enjoy, maybe you will fill like you climbed it with us.

Happy 14th Wedding Anniversary to Paul and Laura on the 27th! Can you believe that? I know it's hard for me to. I'm looking forward to September. I'm very excited for the start of football season, hunting and hopefully a lot of horseback riding!

High School Tag

I figure that I better do this since I was tagged.

1. Did you date anyone from your high school? Nope
2. What kind of car did you drive? Well, Mom always drove me to school. But if I was going out with friends Shannon would always come and pick me up!
3. Were you a party animal? I had a good time in High School, but I wasn't a party animal.
4. Were you considered a flirt? I don't think so.
5. Were you in band, orchestra or choir? Orchestra
6. Were you a nerd? No
7. Were you on any varsity teams? Nope
8. Did you ever get suspended or expelled? Can't say I was.
9. Can you still sing the fight song? The fight song...for some reason I can't think of it...and I should know it because we sang it after each touch down. But I can sing most of the school song. I guess that's what happens when you are a cheerleader.
10. Who were your favorite teachers? Ms. Saltas and Ms. Ericksen, there was also one that I can't think of her name, she was a really short little blonde and she taught women's studies.
11. Where did you sit for lunch? On the floor by our lockers or in the atrium.
12. What was your school's full name? Skyline High School
13. What was your mascot? Eagle
14. If you could go back and do it again, would you? I don't know. I had a really good time, and I loved it, but I don't know that I would want to go and do it again.
15. What do you remember most about graduation? Playing with the orchestra, our cool sunglasses, ditching the graduation party, going to emily's hotel, leaving and just hanging out with Shannon the rest of the night.
16. Where did you go on Senior Skip Day? Skyline doesn't do that...we just didn't have school the last day.
17. Were you in any clubs? Pep Club and Orchestra
18. Have you gained weight since then? Unforunately
19. Who was your prom date? Skyline is dumb and the girls ask to Junior Prom, so I went with Brian Leeflang. And I didn't go to Senior Prom.
20. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? I'll think about it! Oh wait, Shannon will probably make me, so yes.

I tag Emily, Alicia and Amy

Bisel Family Reunion

August 1-3 brought the Bisel Family Reunion held in Woodland. Aunt Georgia and her family did a great job planning the reunion. We started Friday night and continued until Sunday. We had fun roasting marshmellows and singing songs around the campfire Friday night. Saturday morning brought the work project - fixing the fence. The kids had a great time making visor while we worked on the fence. After we got the fence fixed we loaded up and headed to Silver Meadows for lunch. It was a nice ride. The mountains are so pretty and green from all the snow we had last winter. We had lunch then headed back to camp to get ready for the auction. After the auction we had dinner, and then watched a late night movie of past reunions. Sunday we decided that it was time to dig up the time capsule. We didn't keep track of when we buried it, and when we were supposed to open it. But we dug it up and opened it anyway. It was neat to see the things that we had put in it eight years ago. We had a great time at the reunion as always. It's nice to be able to get together and spend time with our family. I had a bunch of pictures, and didn't want to pick which ones to put up, so I just put them into a slide show. Hope you enjoy!

You can watch the slide show here, or if you click on it it will take you to the album.

Sorry for the novel, but I have to catch up!

I am totally behind, but I want to catch up. So here is the second half of July. It of course was just as busy as the first half. There were very few nights that we didn't have something going on. On the Tuesday the 15th Mom was wanting to go to the slack for the Day's of '47 rodeo. It started at 8 A.M. and Dad and I both had to work. Mom had been trying to talk herself out of not going, and when I got back from the gym I said hey Mom should we go. And without a second thought she said yes. So I called into work and off we went. They held the slack out to the state fairgrounds. So we didn't have any shade, sitting right out in the sun. We got there at about 9 and ended up leaving at 4:30 and they still had about another hours worth. Even though it was extremely hot, we had a really good time and got to see A LOT of really good action.

The 16th, 17th and 18th found Dad, Mom and I at the Energy Solutions Arena for the Day's of '47 rodeo.

Mom and Dad - Day's of '47
David, Stacey and their girls came in on Friday (18th) night. Stacey flew out to Texas early the next morning. Dad, Mom, David, Brooke, Emma Jane and I headed to Woodland for the annual David A. Bisel Family reunion. The kids seemed to have a lot of fun - playing with bubbles, going through the obstacle course, making butterflies, going on a treasure hunt and playing with each other.

Bridger playing with the bubbles.

Brody playing with the beach ball.

Addey, Reesce and Emma Jane conquering the obstacle course.

Brooke and Amber working on their butterflies.

The adults had fun visiting with each other, and of course eating. What would a family reunion be without a lot of food to eat.

Dad

Aunt Dolyn and Grandpa - The only living children of David and Ethel Bisel.

Kylie and Emma Jane
The reunion was a lot of fun. They did some planning and made some changes to hopefully keep things going and get a little more organized.
After the family reunion we made a mad dash for Evanston, WY to watch Cache ride.

On the 20th we decided to go up to Ogden to watch the slack for the Ogden Pioneer Day's rodeo. Yet again there were a lot of really good contestants and it made for really good watching. We got up there at 9 and ended up leaving around 3 since Dave still had to make the drive back to Colorado.

David, Emma Jane, Dad and Brooke

Dave left on Sunday to go back to Colorado and the girls got to stay with us.

Monday the 21st we went back up to Ogden for the rodeo. It was family night at the rodeo, so we made sure to bring the famiy. We had Dad, Mom, Brooke, Amber, Brody, Emma Jane and me.

Tuesday we headed for Spanish Fork. I love this time of year, rodeo every night. This made for eight nights in a row of rodeo. What else could I ask for!?

Wednesday the 23rd - Parade Eve - Mom and the kids (Brooke, Amber, Brody and Emma Jane) met Carolyn at the parade route at 9 in the morning. What troppers! They did such a good job of keeping our spot!

Once I got done with work I ran home and changed, got my stuff and headed down to take over. Mom, Dad and Emma Jane left and went to the Day's of '47 rodeo. The kids were having fun playing games and just keeping themselves entertained with whatever. They demonstrated their monkey skills by climbing the street sign with no sign on it.

Brody

Shannon, Brooke, Becca and Amber

My friend Shannon, her husband Eli, two of her boy's - Brizden and Rylek, and a couple of her sisters came and stayed over for the parade with us.

Monkey Boy - I mean Brody

Amber testing her skills

Brooke - Made it to the top!

They did fireworks at the Gallivan Center after a concert they held there. The fireworks where like none I have ever seen before and they seemed to last for a very long time. Then we also could see the fireworks after the Real Salt Lake game.

Dad, Mom and Emma Jane came back after they got done at the rodeo. By then we had told the kids they needed to settle down and try and get some sleep. Once we got them all to lay down it wasn't long and they were all out.

Rylek - Shannon's little boy

Eli and Brizden - Shannon's husband and little boy. Eli has a hard enough time sleeping when he's at home and it's dead silent...I'm not sure that he got much sleep. But he gave it his best effort.

Emma Jane

Amber - She got the slick sleeping bag and then was laying on the side that sloped towards the road. I kept having to move her back up. She told me in the morning that she slept good other then me waking her up to move her. I told her I didn't really want her sleeping in the middle of the street.

Brooke

Brody

Carolyn and Mom

Dad - Being the nice Grandpa that he is he left Emma Jane stay in the chair and slept on the ground. I don't think he had the best nights sleep but he's a tropper.

Shannon and I stayed awake all night. It wasn't that hard for us, especially since I usually don't leave her house until 2 or later when I go out to her house. Overall the night was pretty relaxed. Not too many crazies. Although there was one guy that convinced his three year old nephew that he's alive because of three. Poor little kid!!

We moved out to the street at about six o'clock and Emma Jane was right up and at 'em. She started the day off right by sharing my Mountain Dew with me.

We cheered on all the runners as they passed us by, and then got all ready and settled in to watch the parade.

Amber and Brooke

The F-16's from Hill Air Force Base did a fly over. I must say that I was a little disappointed, they must have been holding back because it wasn't near the usualy "shake" as they went by. But still very impressive. I love to watch those things.

Emma Jane, Brody and Jessica - Jessica works in the building right across from where we stayed. So she came out and watched some of the parade with us.

One of my favorites.

I LOVE the bag pipes! This is one of the reason I am willing to go and stay over for the parade.

The military was there in force!! If you can't tell the start of them is right in front of me and then are clear back to the next light - so they took up a city block. It was so neat to see the crowd stand and cheer for them as they went by. I have such an appreciation for the men and women that serve our country. It's the least I can do to stand and tell them Thank You!

The parade as always was very good, and of course we will be back next year.

After the parade we went home and Dad and the kids played in the water, trying to cool off a little. Then Dad and Mom left and went to the Day's of '47 rodeo and the kids and I stayed home and relaxed.

Friday the 25th I headed for Emery County with my friend My-Linh. She's been trying to get me to go down with her for a while now, so I finally gave in! We had a lot of fun. We stayed at her parents place in Castle Dale. We drove up to Joe's Valley Reservoir, it was really pretty.

My-Linh at Joe's Valley Reservoir

Saturday we went to the Desert View rodeo. We took it pretty easy. Just played and had fun. We came back home on Sunday the 27th.

Mom and Dad couldn't have me off having fun and them not having any. Friday the 25th Mom, Dad, Brooke, Amber, Brody and Emma Jane went up and rode in the wagon train. They said they had a lot of fun.

Saturday the 26th was the kid's parade in Kamas. The Woodland Ward told the kids to either dress as Pioneer of the past or future. So the kids went with pioneers of the past.

Amber, Emma Jane, Brooke and Brody

After the parade they headed out to Woodland for the Stokes Family Reunion.

As always it looks like the Bisel's had a good showing.

We didn't have anything planned on Monday the 28th, and since we were home and the girls had been very good they got to do sparklers. Or sprinklers if you ask Emma Jane, or sparks if you ask Brooke. Whatever they are they sure like to play with them.

Tuesday the 29th we went up to Kamas to get the horses shoed. I'm not sure how it happened that neither Mom nor I ended up taking any pictures, but it did. Glad to get shoes on them, now we can go and ride and not have to worry about their feet.

The girls really like to go out to dinner when they are here since there's only McDonald's and Wendy's in Craig. So on Wednesday night we went to Olive Garden.

Emma Jane had spaghetti and man was it good. She licked that bowl clean.

Brooke was just excited that she got to go out.

Well...there's the end of July! I can't even believe that July is already over. The girls were here for two weeks and those two weeks just flew right by! I've been hoping for a little more laid back August, but so far that hasn't been happening. Oh well, I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I wasn't going all the time. Stay tuned for another update coming soon!
