I know they are a little young... but my little babies already have friends! I should call them my little social butterflies! Garrett Olsen (beth & jeff's) came over to play (and watch spaceballs... but we won't talk about that). Cooper and Leila both loved him... he's such a great kid! Look at him trying to hold Leila's hand! Cooper liked him so much he got down on the floor and crawled with him... go GJ!
Leila also got to see her cousin Gabrielle (Ben & Tasha's) this weekend. They could only lay by each other for a short time however, because Gabby kept karate chopping Leila (example below). J/K she just spits up a lot and couldn't stay laying down for very long. Also pictured is Leila trying to show Gabby how to grab her feet. Gabby however, is not listening at all.. but winding up for another karate chop.
I love how fascinated babies are with each other! Even Cooper, who is now more of a little boy than a baby... he just loved playing with Garrett. We really must be social creatures if our earliest instincts are to give and recieve attention from each other. I hear people saying that they don't want to have any kids... but honestly I feel like I didn't know myself at all until I had little minnies of myself. It's like watching yourself grow up... in some... wierd... way.

How they grow
Here is Leila's first forray into the world of solid food:
She gagged a little, but seemed to sleep better during the night.
Also, for your viewing pleasure, Cooper's favorite outfit:
Notice that the boots have creepy eyes that look up at you when you walk... Cooper loves them! Probably because their creepy.

Leila @ 4 months
I love my little girl! She is so precious and sweet and she makes everyday so fresh and new! Babies are so amazing! I truly feel how Heavenly Father must cherish his daughters now that I have one of my own. I just want to protect her and love her! Thus far her personality seems to be much more feminine than Coopers was. I can already tell that she has more of an emotional dependancy on me than Cooper did. She looks to me always when she does something new or needs reassurance, it makes me very conscious of my stress level because it transfers directly to her! She even takes cues from Cooper (though sometimes she gets the wrong message and starts laughing when he's crying, it's really quite comical). Really, can life get any better?

Amanda, good job at....Art
Amanda had an awards ceremony in Brigham City this weekend, she won 3rd in her age division out of the whole state in a duck stamp contest. I guess everyone who enters has to paint or draw a duck, I think it's to promote conservation. Anyway, we were really proud of Amanda, she's so creative and we love her! She was the only kid in the whole contest with a cheering section! GO AMANDA!
After the awards we took Amanda to Tucahno's in Provo, and we all ate waaaay too much meat. Amanda looked dazed afterward!

Fools!
Oh man I had a great April Fools Day! I totally got Jesse in the morning when I called him and told him our sewer had backed up into our house and was coming out all the drains. He totally freaked out and was jumping in his car to come home when I said "APRIL FOOLS!" I can always get him good because he never knows what day it is! I also short-sheeted the bed which was funny because he was soooo tired, so he finally gets ready for bed and pulls back the covers, hops on the bed and tries to stick his legs down in the sheets and they got stuck half-way down. I had been waiting all day for him to climb into bed, and the bewildered look on his face was so funny! I had to turn away because I was laughing so hard, and he was saying "What the...? Did I ...? How come....?" When he realized what I had done he said "You dork! You got me good!". But really, is the real "dork" the pranker or the prankee? I vote prankee! That sounds like cranky if you say it right, which is what Spencer was when I told him Jesse snapped his achilles tendon again and I needed him at the hospital right away. He hopped in his car and started goin' down there and he got all huffy when I sprung the "april fools" thing on him. Really, some people (spencer) should laugh at themselves more (a lot more, and really hard) and spend less time being angry (and more time loving!).
