#Cupcakes

I just wanted to share my made from scratch hot chocolate flavored cupcakes!

The prettiest ones go home to Mama.

I made these to take to my office Christmas Party which is tomorrow night! I'll try to take pics to share!

Sorry I don't have a recipe to share. I found one while quickly looking in-between patients and just wrote down the ingredients, then I could never find the recipe again.

Cracker Candy

It's the season for sweets and treats! My RDH friend Christie shared with me this addicting treat of salty and sweet goodness.

I followed a recipe found on A Southern Grace.

saltines have never had it so good...

...and neither have I. Quick, easy, and
 undeniably drool-inducing--what could be better?

Terribly Terrific Toffee
1 cup unsalted butter (no margarine allowed)
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
40 saltine crackers

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line a 15x10-inch jelly roll pan or a 12x17-inch

cookie sheet with foil and spray
with non-stick spray. Lay a flat layer of crackers out on the foil.
Melt the sugar and butter until a boil is reached.
Reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered, for 5-6 minutes or
until mixture is thickened
and sugar is completely dissolved. Pour this mixture over
the crackers and spread to coat evenly.
Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the toffee becomes bubbly.
After removing the pan from the oven,
let it sit for 3-5 minutes. Sprinkle on the chocolate chips,
let them soften and melt,
and then spread them into an even layer.
You can add nuts, cracker crumbs, or whatever
Let cool and, if desired for expediting purposes
refrigerate until hardened.
Break into pieces the size of your choice.
 I personally prefer a hand-sized chunk.

Boil brown sugar & 2 sticks of butter

Happy Fall Ya'll

Happy Fall Ya'll

Sorry for the delay in posting.

Let's start with a Delta Gamma Reunion. Sorority recruitment was a couple weeks ago on the UA Fort Smith campus. I was part of the founding class of the ETA O chapter of Delta Gamma. We thought it was a great reason to get together and show support.
(Ashley, Brooke, Emily, me & Meredith)

Congrats ETA O on welcoming 26 new sisters and making Quota!!!

Alumni Weekend, Oct. 19 - 21, 2012, and Homecoming Oct. 15 - 21
Now combined with Homecoming, Alumni Weekend is the Alumni Association's premier annual event, welcoming an ever-growing number of alumni of all ages back to campus for a great weekend of camaraderie, reminiscence, and fun, with receptions, meals, tailgating, and entertainment. And remember, Alumni Weekend is for all alumni and friends of UAFS, Westark, and Fort Smith Junior College, so you don't have to be an alumnus to join us.

So I have been seeing antique doors used in decor everywhere lately. Naturally, I want one! Chad and I did a little door hunting this weekend in downtown Fort Smith and actually found one!! Another man's trash is another man's treasure, literally..

At the carwash after we got it cleaned up a little.

Today we started stripping the paint off and sanding it a little.

Chad just loves to get in on a weekend project.

And what would a little Happy Fall Ya'll post be without a pumpkin pic!

Fall Crafts

I've been working on some fall crafts this week while up in Berryville to fill up my nights. A girl can only watch so much netflix. I've been working on two crafts this week.

Craft # 1: A burlap wreath.
I've been studying the burlap wreaths at Hobby Lobby and decided to get it a try.

Supplies Needed:
  • Brown pipe cleaners
  • Hot glue gun
  • Metal Frame
  • 2 3 spools of burlap ribbon

Stay tuned I'll post a finished picture once I get back to civilization. ( a town with a nearby HL)

Craft # 2. Game day Tshirt Dress.
Fall means Football in Razorback Country. I have seen tons of cute tshirt dresses for sale on FB & Esty. I knew I just had to try it.

Thank you Pinterest. Here is the tutorial I followed.

Again I could not complete my project bc the nearest Hobby Lobby to Berryville is 59.9 miles away. Thank goodness I only spend 3.5 days here at a time.

The local Walmart Supercenter did supply me with:
  • 1 XL Razorback Tshirt
  • Grey thread
  • 1/2 inch elastic

Stay tuned, next week I will be adding some Hobby Lobby touches

This is not on my craft list but look how talented the Hobby Lobby flower department is:

It looks exactly like Heidi!!
Don't worry I didn't buy it.

Tomorrow is Razorback scrub day at the office!! and my new RDH friend Christie is staying with me so we can go to Dr. Pickards CE class on Friday.
