Welcome

This life that we share with you is as precious as precious gets.

We have this blog so that we may keep our friends and family updated on stories, pictures, brags, and concerns. As well as, for our friends that have been blessed with an extra chromosome. Our kids will make their way! ;-)

Just catching up

I can't believe how long it's been since I updated a post here. I guess I'm not a very good blogger these days. Especially with getting my photography business up and going. Link up there somewhere.

K, on to Lana. Let me get you caught up a bit. She's now 3!!! We had a great party for her. All of her family from Houston came up to celebrate with us and then we had most of our family from this area here. We had a great time celebrating "LANA". She's just amazing.

She's been in preschool this year and has done really well. She initially started at a private school, but when she turned 3 she transitioned to the local public school PPCD program, but kept going to her private school on Monday's and Wednesday's. This proved to work out perfectly. She enjoyed both locations and made friends easily.

She's still a little thing, but can handle her own. She's actually a little bully at times, but in a sweet way.
A month ago she had an adenoidectomy and ear tubes placed. They said she had so much fluid that she could barely hear. That’s surprising because she managed really well, but of course her speech is delayed. She’s doing better already. She’s said some words that she couldn’t have just over a month ago.

It's summer break now and we're off to a good start with spending quality time together with lots of lovin' and cuddling.

So until next time, enjoy your days.

I'll post pictures from her party soon.

Happy National Down Syndrome Day

Wow, this is only our 2nd national Ds Day that we’ve celebrated. It’s crazy. It’s seems now as though Down syndrome has always been a part of us. I couldn’t imagine my life without Lana just as she is. Pure perfect Lana.

Happy National Down Syndrome Day

Join us today, in celebrating the very special place that Down syndrome has in our lives. Cheers!

Fun in the Snow

In attempt to catch up with blogging here are a few pictures from our recent snow storm. Lana was so excited to get out there to play in the snow. She watched N8 as he threw himself down into the snow making snow angels. Then she proceeded to do the same only to discover... as she said "eeewwwwhhhh cooaahh" (EW, this is cold). She lasted all of 6 minutes before she was ready to get back to the warmth of our toasty house and a yummy cup of hot ovaltine. But before she abandoned us... LOL, she did a great job assisting N8 and I with building our annual snow friend. :)

OH... I JUST LOVE MY BABY GIRL!!! :)

Let me get back to bloggin

WOW... where have I been? Where has time gone? Where have all the days gone? I just dropped off the face of blog world for my kiddo's. But I'm coming back!!!

Sorry for those of you who have come here to find nothing posted. ;-( I'll get better at this.

So the last time I posted was when N8 celebrated his bday. And now Lana's is approaching us so fast that I'm already working on the invitations... even though I have no idea where it will be because my top pick is already booked. errr...

anyway, Lana is doing well. She's as precious as ever and of course blesses us each day with her beautiful personality, her amazing smiles, and her spunk that is much the same as mine.

Tonight, Andre and I were laying down getting ready for bed. I was reading my book when all of a sudden I felt Lana needed me. I asked him if he turned the monitor on.. he didn't but when he did she was crying. She hardly ever cries at night. Andre was shocked and asked “How did you know she was crying”? We couldn't hear her from our bedroom. But you know... I just felt her. I'm so connected to her that it even freaks me out. I can't count the number of times I've felt exactly what was going on with her without having any real way of knowing. ahhh... I love my baby girl and the very intense bond that we share.

It's weird though, Andre shares a simular connection with N8. It's an awesome thing to witness and feel when you are so connected to someone else that no words or looks or presence has to be exchanged for you to know what they need.

K, now I'm off to sleep. She's calmed down and is now sleeping. She had a very dry throat and was coughing profusely... out of nowhere. Nothing that Mama's love and good cough medicine can't take care of. Till next time.

Morning at the park

I’m going back and updating pictures from that last year and came across these image to share. We had a great day in the park and Nate and Lana were great models while I played with one of my new lens. They truly are my favorite subjects to photograph.
