We spent the holiday in Carlsbad, NM where Uncle Kaelan Aunt Kaysha and Shane live. There is a very small lake outside of town called Lake Brantely . We camped there the first night and enjoyed a yummy cherry cobbler for dinner, a must camping.
Uncle Koriel Aunt Katelyn and Quincy met us camping and the next morning we got on the lake first thing. Kaelan and Kaysha meet us there in the afternoon.
We swam, played in the sand, Britton, Koriel, Kaelan, and I skiied. (Yes you read that correctly I got up on skis finally!!! after trying to figure out the new boat for the last year I finally got up twice and stayed up! I was so pumped it was a great day!) Katelyn and Kaysha were the champion Aunts on the tubes going with all the kids. Conway was hard to get off the tubes even with the uncles when they were whipping around the lake. :)
The next morning on July 4th we went to Carlsbad Caverns which was awesome! It amazes me that they have millions of visitors for 100 + years now and it still feels and looks so cool down in there. the kids though it was cool both in temperature and experience. and did the 2 mile hike with as little whinnying as they could.
For the fireworks we put the boat on the Pecos River in Carlsbad and watched the firework show from the boat! It was so awesome. Britton even skiid on the Pecos until the sun went down. Wyatt made it through the 1st 10minutes for the show then layed down and put himself to sleep. Elle was asleep by the end of the show. It was everything I imagined and more. It was a great holiday all around, being with family and playing on the boat.
Playing in the Pecos. We did manage to bang up the new prop on the boat pretty bad which is a bummer. But that is the life of boat owners always spending more money on boat parts.
When we got home , everyone needed a good scrub from traveling and I squeezed all three into the tub.
